  1. I’ve had good luck with Whole Foods as well. Most of the time it’s best to ask for a whole rack of beef short ribs. The whole chuck/plate distinction is what causes a bunch of confusion. Most retail grocery stores have racks of chuck short ribs. Plates are usually wholesale or at Restaurant Depot etc.
  2. So this isn’t the same wagyu steak I posted above. They also sell trimmings for a lot less - I got 3 good sized pieces of NY strip for $40. Here it is after the first flip. Didn’t get any other shots because it was quickly sliced and devoured after another flip or two. After that was a grass fed chuck eye that I also got from Crowd Cow:
  3. Any recs for where to eat and what to do for the Cape, Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard? A friend bought an inn on the Cape, so we would be doing a day trips to Nantucket/Martha's Vineyard.
  4. Can you go to a gym that has on site child care?
  5. And unlimited mustard blend in bottles on the table instead of those old tiny plastic cups.
  6. True, but we're talking just ordering regular dishes off the menu, not omakase, which is probably just obscene at Nobu.
  7. Agreed - went this weekend and ordered the wings with the hot sauce. Pretty nice little lunch.
  8. Wife went with two friends and said the same - came out to $180 per person.
  9. Just don’t go to any barbecue place no matter how good the locals claim it is. I drove a good 45 minutes out of my way to some purportedly legendary place in doesn’t-matter-where-ville that was horrible. Everything was bombarded in sugar to the point of being inedible. The pulled pork (doused in sugary bbq sauce) the sides, the iced tea. All of it. I asked for the pulled pork without sauce after the first go around and was refused. They offered a “spicy hot sauce” to mitigate the sweetness, which was a joke.
  10. Since Luke Duke refuses to update us on his A5 Wagyu, I decided to take matters into my own hands
  11. Malone's bear hug/tackle of Drexler at the end of Game 6 of the 97 WCF:
  12. Usually you will be able to see a moose from a much greater distance than 20 yards. If you come around a corner or up a hill and do see a moose that close, I would immediately turn and go in the opposite direction.
  13. This place is damn good. They are known for their BLTs. You would think the best BLT of all time wouldn't be that much better than your average BLT, but you'd be wrong. https://www.merrittsblt.com/
  14. Chris Bosh predicted LeBron to Houston this morning.
  15. It's been about 10 years since I've been, so my recommendations would probably be out of date. San Miguel is great, although there are a ton of expats there. I would strongly recommend a day trip to Guanajuato. It's only 90 minutes away. Beautiful colonial city that is a UNESCO site.
  16. There's also an Alamo on Navigation a couple of blocks from Ninfa's. Your Gerardo's link is to a joint in Kingsville.
  17. 72 hour sous vide short ribs seared in duck fat, salade Lyonnaise with panko fried poached egg, and brown butter and sea salt pound cake with bourbon cherry ice cream.
  18. Depends how long. Philly is fine for a few days. Delaware, on the other hand, would only be a good idea if you’re looking to piss off your wife. I spent two days there once that seemed like 3 weeks.
