  1. Not sure how ESPiN spun that number because, as you note, the SAC got two in scoring position and reduced the odds of a DP by Maldonado ... and Springer, too, with 1B open.

Because analytics views all 27 outs as equal and extremely valuable like possessions in the NBA. That’s in part why the Rays don’t care about starting a game with a relief pitcher. The only productive outs are those that score a runner from third. Not saying I agree but that’s how a lot of these front offices see the game.
  2. Not any more scary than every damn ball hit to Tucker.  He looks like he is lost on every single one of them(but hasn't been) and then makes a fucking catch down at his side.

QFT. He meanders around back and forth like a sooner at a Golden Corral

  3. Being the first team to hit a HR on the first pitch of a game and the last pitch of a game would really be something

Fairly decent chance that’s happened in the regular season. Some guy named Elias probably knows the answer.

  4. I saw the account and read the text and was about to say to keep that negative loser karma out of this thread but then I scrolled down and saw the picture

Negative loser karma from a franchise that has twice the championships (Sans the cheating scandal)?

I think it was planned longer than that.  He references the extended early voting period in the "whereas" section, as though to say "i've given you more time, so I can give you fewer locations so it kinda balances out."  So I think it was in the works at the time of the extension order.

And while we laughed at R infighting, where Hotze et al sued Abbott for the extension, we might see we got 59-D chess'd.  They extension of time will get struck down, but the order reducing locations stays.  Win win.

Executive orders by governors almost always spell out prior steps that were taken on a particular issue in previous orders through whereas clauses. I don't think one has anything to do with the other. Extending early in person voting due to Covid makes complete sense. Reducing drop off locations for absentee ballots does nothing but create huge lines and cause an unnecessary public health risk (and suppress votes after the president shit the bed at the debate just a few days ago).
