  1. I've always preferred Sam's Deli Diner to Sam's. For cheap/old school Tex-Mex there is La Plaza on Bingle and Long Point and the two La Fiesta locations are pretty solid. West Houston restaurant talk not going away.
  2. Yes, I used to live 2 blocks away before I moved south of 10. It definitely outkicks its coverage food wise. Great place to hang outside during the non summer months.
  3. Finally made it to 2M Smokehouse last week. They aren't open for dine in but have two lines outside, one for text/email ahead orders and one for drive thru orders. Their process for text ahead order process is seamless and the line went almost as fast as chick-fil-a. Brisket, pork ribs, and Oaxaca cheese and serrano pork sausage were all outstanding, as were the street corn and cole slaw sides.
  4. Agreed, the bakery and gelato at that NIko's are solid.
  5. Also, Treebeard's, Masraff's, and Texadelphia are all gonna have pretty big bars. There's also the bar at the ZaZa which is pretty good.
  6. There's a Niko's at 10 and 8 but Just GRK is better, albeit with a much more limited menu.
  7. Yesterday, I drove by the building where Treebeards, Masraff's, and Texadelphia are going in and all three had a lot of work going on. Shouldn't be too much longer. As far as bars, there's By Popular Demand on Memorial, Kirby Icehouse on Gessner, Westchase Tavern, Radio Milano at City Centre. There's also a super laid back place in Spring Branch called Lazy Oaks Beer Garden that is north of 10, between Gessner and the Beltway that has food and a full bar.
  8. Yes it did. Picked up breakfast tacos Sunday morning.
  9. I'm in Memorial. Pizaro's Just GRK White Elm Goode Co. Seafood Goode Co. Cantina Cascabel Original Ninfa's Uptown Impero Italiano BB Italia Piola Jonathan's the Rub (2 locations) Sushi Jin Sal y Pimienta Bori and bunch of other Korean places north of 10 Gyu Kaku Kuu State Fare Liberty Kitchen Treehouse (used to be subpar but State Fare people are taking it over) Burgers: Pappas, Hopdoddy, Grub, Becks Cao Bao Krazy Katsu Izakaya Wa Pepper Twins Pappy's Original Carrabba's on Voss I've always been underwhelmed with Lynn's. You're better off at Pappas Bros, Perry's (Memorial City, not Woodlands) and all the other chains that are in the area. Coming soon: Mia's Table Masraff's Treebeard's Texadelphia
  10. I have a dual motor AWD Y, and it’s plenty fast.
  11. Technology wise the S is bit behind the 3 and especially the Y. There are rumors of a new Model S coming in the near future. Once that happens, you will see a big price drop for the current version. You can pay a few hundred bucks to update the Model S computer to the new version. If it were me, I'd try to buy a pre-owned one from Tesla. I believe you're in the Bay Area, so the Fremont factory is close and should have decent inventory.
  12. That's a convenient spot being close to the ferries. We liked Ptown>>MV>>Nantucket
  13. Anyone ever do a Big Bend/Alpine/Marathon/Ft. Davis/Marfa trip in a Tesla? Looks like there is a supercharger in Ft Stockton and destination chargers in Marfa and Ft. Davis.
  14. That might explain the Sam Adams commercial that has a guy working on his car in the background.
  15. The bad thing about biotech in the covid space is that the market treats it like its a zero sum game. For example, last week Abbott got approval for a new Covid test and FLGT, a solid company with good revenue and supply chain for covid tests, craters.
  16. Now can Tesla build a fleet of electric cargo vans to go with the semi and sell a bunch to Amazon please?
  17. The last time at Hruska’s (in addition to pan sausage and kraut) I had a kolache that had Eckermann's sausage that was finominle.
  18. Jeff and his praise the lord wife are played out grifters.
  19. Just now saw this thread. Got the LR AWD Model Y on July 1. It is quite a bit bigger than it looks. Interior and cargo space is bigger than my old Q5 and wife’s GLC. Did nothing but city driving/ home charging until last week when I had to go to SA/Boerne for work. Stopped at a supercharger in Flatonia both ways and the stop wasn’t any longer than a typical gas fill up and restroom visit. The real issue for road trips is charging at your destination. Had to charge at the super chargers in SA and Leon Springs while I was there. Overall couldn’t be happier with the Y.
  20. What’s the story here? I pass by their building all the time. Never knew anything about them.
  21. That’s what the construction between Brookshire and Sealy is. They have to widen a few bridges so it will take a while. Edit: not 6 lanes each way but they are at least adding one each way.
  22. This is a much smaller storm than Ike, but yes parts of all those counties will get slammed.
  23. The Euro model nailed Harvey, which was an anomalous storm, and was an outlier then too at times. That said, I hope it's wrong this time.
