  1. If it dropped after this OU debacle that is playing out I would put the blame on Venables leaking trying to take heat off him LOL
  2. Again, even if the NFL is Sark's goal, his Agent leaking this NOW makes absolutely zero sense so that tracks. Fascinating who actually leaked it.
  3. I haven't heard anything about the baby thing. But I heard enough background through the grapevine after the initial divorce announcement to know my ass wouldn't have reconciled.
  4. Loreal leaking this out through whomever her people are actually makes the most sense here. Way too much smoke there.
  5. This makes more sense than anything else LOL. Mack and Sally both probably legitimately think Mack's a candidate in their fucking fantasy world.
  6. From our perspective, of course, if this is where it's heading WE would want to know sooner than later. My question is when has a new HC of an NFL team been announced before the end of the NFL season. I just can't think of any but I also don't follow the NFL that closely.
  7. When is the last time a new head coach has been hired in the NFL before the season ended? I don't follow closely but has that ever happened?
  8. Why in the world would CDC want this to leak mid-season? Nothing about the timing of this makes any sense from our side or Sark's side. Hell if anything it's someone with an Anti-Texas or Anti-Sark agenda.
  9. It makes zero sense for Sark to want this to leak now. NFL jobs won't be open for well over a month. This makes everything about his season at Texas harder. We lose and the wheels fall off, then it makes getting another job significantly harder.
  10. This is all assuming (i) it's true and (ii) Sark had anything to do with the leak. The latter makes absolutely zero sense. If his goal was to leave for the NFL this year the dumbest thing he could do is leak it on gameday mid-season with entire season on the line. There is very little chance he had anything to do with this coming out today IMO.
  11. Stop saying this. CDC is not hiring someone with a grand total of 2 fucking years HC experience at North Texas and ZERO big program experience. JFC it's amazing how fucking clueless our fanbase is. The Texas job is a monster. Night and day from Group of 5 bullshit.
  12. I agree that Sark can put them into a better position to make plays than he did against Kentucky, but on our 2nd half scoring drives against OU, we converted 7 3rd downs and most of those were 5+. Players made plays in that game. Who knows how that game goes if Arch doesn't convert that 3rd down from inside the 10 (his best play of the season) or Wisner doesn't break a tackle on 3rd and long dump off to convert? Hell our wide open TD was 3rd and 8 and while it was an easy throw, it was probably "harder" than several similarly wide open shots he missed last week. Nobody at any position made a fucking play all night against Kentucky and there were still plenty to be had scheme flaws or not.
  13. I think Sark can make it easier on the players for sure but how this game goes is flat out going to come down to how the wildly inconsistent offense executes per usual. If the OL isn't a complete disaster and Arch can hit the easy throws we can score 30 on offense. Or we could look like we did against UTEP, FL and UK and score 10. Who knows what we're going to get. I'm a little nervous about whether the Defense can continue to hold up. 4 straight away from home, losing Taafe, playing 80+ plays last week.... They (MSU) know all of that and will absolutely play the TOP game and try to win it in the 4th quarter against a tired defense. This is a game where getting a 2 score lead early and making them chase would be really helpful.
  14. Made it to first 2 periods with my kid before taking off as way too late on a school night. Fuck the NHL for allowing TV (and f'n ESPN + at that, not even national) to dictate late start times. 8:15 puck drop for a Thursday October game is ridiculous (and 2nd time already). Really devalues season tix when they pull that crap. That being said, I thought Stars actually played a lot better overall. Weak call leading to a 5 on 3 goal and then LA's 2nd goal was the epitome of puck luck. We needed to finish some of those opportunities particularly in the first. Oh well. And yeah, got home to watch end of game and OT and the horns down celebration from a Swede was......something.
  15. If it's purely a character/culture problem why is he still on the team? The only thing that makes any sense is he is serving some kind of non-public suspension or just to keep the brother/family happy, they have let him stay on the team "in good standing" preserving a redshirt. Is he on travel squad? If not has to be one of those. I can't imagine he's good enought to be actual answer or this all would have been sorted out, but I also think surely he would have gotten some snaps last week as Brooks was flailing (and Stroh "out") had he actually been available.
  16. The Neto thing is just weird. Absolutely has to be more to the story there. I doubt he's 'good' or it never would have gotten to this point but clearly something had to happen that isn't pure performance/ability related to go from starter to zero snaps at the absolute worst position on the team.
  17. It's just unfathomable we are relying on a known project true freshman as starting LG. Not because of devastating injuries to multiple players in the 2 deep at the position but because apparently that's the best we have on the roster. It's the single biggest failure in personnel evaluation that I can recall in years and certainly in the NIL/portal era. It is 100% a fireable offense for whomever made the determination that we are fine with what he had a C/G in the offseason. I would be willing to bet our offense is 7-10 PPG better with simply average to slightly above average play at C/G, and if we had a plus starter at LG, we could probably live with the center play we have. But the combination essentially made this season a failure from day 1.
  18. I'm not sure I agree with above but regardless none are getting drafted in first 3 rounds and they had 4. I'm just saying people can bitch about our current "scheme" and I certainly agree with a lot of it. But we will probably look more like Iowa than Michigan because we aren't good enough up front or at RB. That UM team was loaded with both talent and experience. Give our staff that offensive roster + our defense and nobody stays within 2 TD's . I'm much more concerned about the failures that led us to have such glaring weaknesses from a personnel perspective. How did we get to a point we are playing a true FR project tackle recruit at guard? Just fixing that position makes us significantly better. Why didn't we bring in competition at center and RB? How many WR's are we currently paying more than the 2 portal guys at A&M that are outplaying our entire room? I get that none of what I'm complaining about can be fixed this year and what you are suggesting could actually help us win games. So from that perspective, I do hope we see something like that scheme wise against MSU.
  19. Is this list wrong? 1st round, Pick 10: Quarterback J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings 3rd Round, Pick 84: Running back Blake Corum, Los Angeles Rams 3rd Round, Pick 85: Wide receiver Roman Wilson, Pittsburgh Steelers 3rd Round, Pick 86: Offensive lineman Zak Zinter, Cleveland Browns 4th Round, Pick 121: Tight end AJ Barner, Seattle Seahawks 5th Round, Pick 173: Offensive lineman Trevor Keegan, Philadelphia Eagles 7th Round, Pick 250: Offensive lineman LaDarius Henderson, Houston Texans 7th Round, Pick 253: Wide receiver Cornelius Johnson, Los Angeles Chargers
  20. The thing is just average OL play a Center LG and "consistently average" QB play and we probably look fine. Our skill players aren't future 1st or 2nd rounders but they are decent. But if we paying any of them like true #1's, they probably need pay cuts next season.
  21. It was 8 NFL draft picks THE NEXT DRAFT. I'm not even counting Loveland (who was drafted the next year and clearly WAY better than anyone on our current offensive roster the season before). This is your comparison dude so you can't claim hypothetical improvements 2 years from now. If you think the Michigan championship team offensive roster and our offensive roster are on the same fucking planet from a personnel perspective, I don't know what to tell you LOL. That's right up there with your infamous Malik is just as good as Quinn hot take.
  22. Michigan had 8 players drafted off that offense. It made their 'scheme' a lot easier. I'm not saying a more simplified scheme won't help but it's beyond clear at this point we don't have the personnel to be anything resembling 'good' on offense. Hell, we don't have a RB room that could run 45X per game even if we wanted to. Entire room would be hurt within 3 weeks.
  23. Yep. And I don't expect the Big 10 to continue to be this top heavy (with numerous "scheduled wins" even if you play your F game) but it definitely is this year. According to KFord (who I think does a pretty good job with all his rankings), he has OSU 49th in schedule difficulty this season. They just aren't being challenged and were essentially scheduled a playoff spot. Texas is 11th, Bama is 15th and UGA is 16th. But Bama missed the playoffs last year. Both Bama and UGA look likely to make it this year but UGA could easily be a 3 (if not a 4) loss team right now. I'll be surprised if any of OSU, Bama or UGA can make a stretch of 4 or 5 years straight in the playoffs going forward. None will have the talent advantage they used to have.
  24. I'll be interested to see if MSU employs the same strategy as they did last year (playing to shorten the game, consistently snapping the ball with under 5 secs left and conservative play calling mixing runs and short passes just trying to keep the chains moving). They had the true FR QB and overall were pretty terrible on both sides of the ball last year so it made sense, and if you all recall, it was an extremely frustrating first 2/3 of the game before we finally broke it open. I have barely watched MSU this year but I feel all things equal Lebby would prefer to play (or at least mix in) Tempo if he thinks he has the personnel like at Ole Miss and OU. With this being 4th straight 'road' game with defense playing 80+ snaps last week, I think if I were them I would mirror game plan from last year and keep our D on the field.
  25. I wasn't necessarily talking about Texas this year. To the larger point, it's pretty clear Sankey saw the NFL parity coming and that's why he's open to playoff expansion + more guaranteed SEC spots. Particularly with a 9 game conference schedule. As for Texas, certainly not excusing this season as it's clear we are wasting a championship caliber defense. If we could pair it with even a top 30 offense we would be an elite team. But offense is a complete failure across the board and I don't think fixable. We don't have a true #1 WR or #1 RB which might not be a disaster if they weren't paired with an absolutely horrible OL and a QB that misses layups every single game. I think there should be changes to the staff that misjudged personnel this bad + massive re-trades on any budget consuming NIL deals or let guys walk (i.e., Wingo/Moore if they are getting paid like #1's) + competition at every position. Offense is bad enough that blowing it all up with 4+ new starters that aren't currently on the roster is probably the best option. I'm not out on Sark at all as he's built the program that actually has high expectations again but I think we got extremely complacent on offense and Sark needs new voices in the room (and I'm definitely supportive of the idea to take coordinating/play calling off of his plate so he's not spread so thin). I heard through the grapevine BEFORE the FL game that Sark's demeanor this season is completely different (i.e., he's pissed off all the time) and now I think pretty easy to see why. I'm guessing he saw this trainwreck coming in training camp.
