  1. I can't make tonight (tix already traded for later game) and also can't make this Thurs or next Tues with youth sports. Anyone looking to buy tix to Thurs or next Tues before I list? In 105N. Our season ticket price is $138 per this year. Haven't checked 'market' but would take something less than that I'm sure for early season weeknight.
  2. Someone in our group mentioned there was a part of the midway this year closer to the stadium (maybe where the busses came in?) that you had to show (not scan) your ticket to get through. I wonder if they tried to do a mini "outer fence" on that side. But I 100% agree the outer fence would solve the problem. They did that for the Stars Winter Classic game. Huge outer fence and it was so much easier to move around for a sold out event. Of course, the only fair park attendees that day were going to the game so the 'fair' is what makes it such a unique setting but also pain in the ass for crowd management.
  3. Pretty clear from the posts that it's a night and day difference between if you were on the renovated west side or non-renovated east side which happened to also be the side everyone was baking in the sun so non-renovated concourses extra crowded. The west side was much improved. Hopefully when they work on the east side the mensa candidates designing it can add a few more urinals to the restrooms. It's not rocket science. Only 4 urinals in a restroom meant to be utilized by 1000+ people is true design malpractice, but still overall much better and next season i'm just going to go scout out where a bigger restroom is pregame.
  4. Anyone that prefers that is a moron.
  5. I don't remember if it was this thread or another thread but a poster was taking the position Sark can't win big games and in support of that position claimed that neither @ A&M with the SEC Championship game on the line for the winner or either of the 2 playoff wins last year were "big games". That is the kind of 'fan' I was referring to in my post that would claim yesterday isn't a big game W.
  6. This. Their LT held just about every play in the first half and no calls.
  7. That was definitely significantly better line play yesterday than I expected even in an optimistic scenario considering the quality of opponent. Hopefully can start to build some confidence. Clear weak link of the team but if they can continue to improve our season outlook changes significantly. Hopefully we all look back as Florida as the ass kicking they needed to step up and get better. Need to rewatch game but I thought Brooks played better after a rough start and see that is a consensus. Tough position for him to be put in but encouraging he held up ok.
  8. On the upper west side the renovations really helped this. So much more room now. Where we were was the best for in game beer sales easily. Never a wait longer than a couple of minutes and enough open space that they weren't in the way.
  9. Well I've been to 27 and only a handful have been 2:30 kicks so that hits different. Last year waited too late for our Fletchers and stood in line too long around noon. This year did that at 10:30 and sole focus until leaving for game at that point was beer. But hey, clearly fair food is really important to you so will gladly stop engaging.
  10. The way yesterday went is exactly why I said it would be absolutely idiotic to play Mateer under the circumstances. Thankfully they have a head coach who is indeed that idiotic. If yesterday plays out exactly the same with Hawkins, they largely would have gotten a free pass from the national media, and while their own fans would still be pissed, they would be confident all could be salvaged once Mateer is back. Instead, Venables back squarely on the hot seat with his fan base and season could easily crater from here. Love it.
  11. You are in the stadium for 5 hours. I'm not missing the game to go back outside to fucking eat. Have you ever been to a Red River game? And you clearly missed the first part about Fletchers early. But yes, adjusting food routine for 2:30 kick next year.
  12. Getting in was night and day difference. Way easier than this year and significant improvements in that respect so props to them for that. Our seats were in the upper west side and that big concourse they added is really nice. A ton more room up there. Massive fail though to whomever did the bathroom redesign. A men's bathroom with 2 urinals and 2 stalls (one ADA) to serve several thousand people is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Beer and Water sales were fine and plentiful where we were but food was nonexistent. Wife left 2 mins before half and took her until end of half use restroom and find someone selling CFA sandwiches. I'm assuming there is a better restroom somewhere to walk to so going to need to find that in future years. The 2:30 start makes it tricky as we typically get Fletchers around 10:30 or 11AM but then get hungry mid-game. Probably going to need to remember to grab some more food before heading into stadium next year.
  13. We have always had a decent amount of absolute shit 'fans' and this thread is Exhibit A. I'm 11-16-1 in that stadium. Can't fathom nitpicking a 17 point W against OU.
  14. Don't worry. All the idiots will say this wasn't a big game W for Sark if OU ends up losing 4.
  15. Fuck all the haters. Sark took us out of a decade + of absolute shit football. Some people are incapable of appreciating the good times.
  16. Oh for sure. You take a regulation W @ Jets all day every day, pretty, ugly, who cares.
  17. Hard for me to get back into Hockey season in October but good W!
  18. Well I read the part about missing a starting QB and that certainly wasn't Florida. If people want to bitch about Sark this season and in particular personnel evaluations in offseason that is completely fair game. But to go back and try to downplay last season's accomplishments? That shitty fan bullshit we see way too much of on this site.
  19. Thanks for proving my point. No credit for win. Another big game loss if we lose. This debate is Exhibit A why so many Texas fans suck. Imagine going through life rooting for a team only to downplay positives and maximize negatives. Good luck to your Sooners this weekend so you can win an internet argument that the team you allegedly root for has a shitty coach.
  20. This. If we lose any of those games, each would be cited as evidence by these idiots that Sark can't win a big game. Moving goal post depending on outcome of game. And this week will be no different.
  21. The winner of Aggy went to SEC Championship game in addition to first time playing in 14 years. We lose that game there is ZERO doubt it's in your list of "big game losses". Playoff games are inherently big games. GTFO with this bullshit.
  22. If you can't get hyped for Texas/OU that's a You problem. Best damn day of the year every year.
  23. The emotional swings of message boards depending on last game outcome, particularly if an unexpected result, is always so funny to watch. Many generally expected us to beat OSU easily week 1. Then many thought we were losing 8 games after UTEP. Then after SJSU we were set to dominate Florida and OU and likely not be tested until Georgia. And now we are back to a 4-5 win season. I'm not saying everyone but it's always a wild ride with a good chunk of the posters and I suspect that is the same for everyone's boards. No doubt many OU fans went from wanting to fire Venables to convinced SEC and National Titles are on the near term horizon based solely on a couple of decent (but hardly 'great') home wins against Michigan and Auburn. Here is where I'm at. I think we have a real and significant OL problem that isn't going to get solved this year. Ithink Manning is likely going to continue to have ups and downs but I feel good about the way he played and competed @ Florida. I think we have enough talent at other positions combined to be in any game on our schedule if we play to potential. I think our staff completely screwed up with our personnel evaluations this offseason, but I don't think they are idiots and expect they are scheming as much as they can to solve for glaring deficiencies (whether it works against a really good OU defense more talented than us across the board up front TBD). And I have absolutely no idea what will happen Saturday because it's Texas/OU and there is pretty much nothing that will every surprise me about this game because the right bounce and general momentum will swing games wildly either direction moreso than any other game on the schedule.
  24. JFC. This board is so dramatic after a loss.
  25. I think the RB room may be a bigger issue than WR but it's impossible to really evaluate either because the OL play is so awful. We could live with the growing pains at RT if the interior line was simply average.
