  1. Elko is 46. Sark is 49 for perspective. .
  2. they had 7 wins. New Mexico (4-8) UL Monroe (2-10) Auburn (6-6) Arkansas (4-8) South Carolina (5-7) Miss St (5-7) Abilene Christian (5-7) None had a winning record. 1 eeked into a bowl birth. And the SEC teams they did beat got most their wins from non-conf cream puffs.
  3. the only real question would be if Bama barely beats Georgia and SEC homers (Finebaum) start yelling that Georgia deserves that 4th spot. Actually, he is already started to make that argument on the ESPN afternoon talk shows.
  4. i think most people know who they should be cheering for, but in regards to the Pac12 and SEC, a good portion think Texas will be out no won't matter who wins those. Yes, our odds are better if Bama and Oregon win, but still on the outside looking in, i think.
  5. Not so sure. Alabama and Oregon would have fresh wins against a #1 undefeated team and a #3 undefeated team respectively. I think that is just too strong to overlook. *not to mention, their only regular season losses are going to be to a Top 10 team 1 loss team (Texas and Washington). Texas' loss was to a 2 loss Oklahoma.
  6. I dont know, just reading the tea leaves, the perceived weakness of the Big12 will have us looking on the outside. Feels like if there are three 1 loss Conference Champs and 2 playoff spots available, the PAC and SEC get em (especially with Oregon and Alabama just beating undefeated top 5 teams). Just what i think. yeah, people will say, now can that be, Alabama lost to Texas.. but they won't have the stomach to leave the SEC out.
  7. Assuming Pac12 Champ & FSU and Michigan win, you saying Texas grabs the 4th spot, if Bama wins? No SEC in the Playoffs? hmmm. The SEC Champ IS making the playoffs.
  8. I got to do a lot of things normally an accountant wouldn't be able to do.
  9. to have a chance, these are the priorities 1. beat OSU 2. Louisville beats FSU 3. Georgia beats Alabama (I worry that a 1 loss Georgia and 1 loss Bama get in - fuckery) i don't think they can deny Texas if those 3 things happen. Would be Pac 12 Champ, Big 10 Champ, SEC Champ, Big12 Champ ** i mean Michigan losing to Iowa would be huge, but not even considering that to be a likelihood.
  10. was just nice watching a football game not slathered in sunscreen sweating my ass off. i guess we get one a year.
  11. pretty awesome atmosphere last night. I think they got most things right. Tech fans were like "oooh drones" only minor quibbles on items that still have not be corrected i dont know if all entrances are a clusterfuck, but gate 7 is SO BAD. the visiting team buses again blocked San Jacinto, but because the game didnt go to the wire, the exiting crowd wasn't as large/packed (unlike KState), so it really wasnt an issue. Still an issue IMO though.
  12. talk me off the cliff, if this game goes to the wire, are there going to be pundits saying the loser will still be deserving of a playoff spot?
  13. REM introduced me to the Velvets (re: Dead Letter Office). Sure, I probably would have eventually gotten there, but not while a teenager in the mid 80s.
  14. A classic example is Kurt Cobain and his unabashed promotion of bands he liked. the vaselines, teenage fanclub, the raincoats, shonen knife, the wipers, the melvins, etc. look what Kurt wearing a Hi How Are You? T-shirt on MTV did for Daniel Johnston.
  15. https://www.cnn.com/2023/11/16/politics/depape-verdict-guilty/index.html David DePape found guilty in Paul Pelosi hammer attack Mr. DePape even took the stand in his own defense, so i am sure he confirmed all that above in the graphic. Oh, he didn't? Well then.... i guess the apologies to the Pelosi Family are eminent.
  16. Experts say Chelsea could face points deduction? sure, sure. When was the last points reduction for a club in the first tier? (sincere question)
  17. maybe there are some out there, but off the top of my head i cant think of an example of a guy who was a successful head coach for 15+ straight years at one school and then maintained or exceeded that level of success at another school. Mack Brown may be the closest with 10 years at North Carolina before coming to Texas.
  18. Southampton 2 - 1 West Brom competitive match with Saints somehow earning the 3 points. Loch Ness Drogba finally making his season debut as a late substitute (uneventful) Adam Armstrong with a 9th goal of the season - tied for 2nd in the Championship On a really good unbeaten run of 8 matches at the moment - 6-0-2 | 20 points out of 24 available.
  19. early '90s Flaming Lips is the best. So many good songs on this album.
