  1. LOL... there's plenty of separation in the house where he can do so calmly. I told him I was going to shut the power to the bathroom from the panel but my wife gave me a hell no on that one.
  2. Had a family member who lived in Fraser and from what I remember it was cold as balls as in colder than most of Colorado. If it were me, I would go for a town like Durango which feels a little larger and you can still get to Purgatory and can also make day trips to Telluride, Silverton, Wolf Creek or Hesperus. Of course I look at things through the lens of skiing.
  3. My son takes long ass showers... I mean looooong showers. Those showers consist of 15 minutes standing outside the shower (or doing "something else") and maybe 5 minutes in the shower. I get pissed about it every night. Who does my wife get pissed at? Me. Why? Because I consistently get mad about it. I've talked to him, I've put a low flow showerhead on his shower (he's about to get an ever lower flow one) and yet I'm the bad guy. I told her last night that she's getting mad at the police for the police being pissed off at the crime. Not sure that went over well but whatever. Spot my son's shower...
  4. Tangent - can anyone figure out who is playing Longhorn City Limits?
  5. I have no idea but this looks cool - https://sandiapeak.com/
  6. That's why we picked it... right smack dab in the middle of everything. Last time we stayed in Taos was the Inn on La Loma Plaza which was a great little place, as well. Again, I keep telling myself (or my wife) this isn't a ski vacation... uh, but pack my skis, my boots, everyone's ski gear, etc.
  7. We did some digging on hotels by the slopes and we found them either a) expensive or b) subpar and almost all were non-refundable and I am a BIG F that on anything non-refundable. So, as of now, four our Taos trip we are staying in Town at La Fonda de Taos. Technically this trip is not a ski trip because my wife didn't necessarily want me booking a second trip although I'm going to ski three days. We've stayed in the town of Taos before and it offers more than TSV. Yes, I prefer ski in/ski out too... immensely so... but I can't pull that off this time. I am curious what the ski drive will be like in the mornings. We've made the drive from town to TSV in the summer and I remember past Arroyo Seco it is a two-lane road in a deep valley. Pretty though.
  8. How did we get this far without... Not Halloween music but it sets the mood...
  9. Told this trash can story to some friends last night at dinner and you received near-unanimous kudos. Yes, 3 out of 4 of us were males and you can guess the dissenting vote.
  10. Oh yeah ZZ Top... loved it!!! Billy's still got it and I thought Elwood is a great fit. Frank just lurks in the back. Need to catch them again because you never know but Billy doesn't seem like he's slowing down. Also, the show at the Majestic was like the fountain of youth. I felt so young compared to the average fan.
  11. he average cost of a home in that area is about $675,000, according to AustinRealEstate.com. Can someone hook me up with some of those average homes?
  12. I know... one of these days... I've been to the museums in the Campidoglio and various other museums and galleries around town. Some of them are usually barren and filled with amazing works. Also haven't done the Scavi tour but have been to the catacombs off of the Appian Way which used to be very quiet and they are quite extensive. Did you get shushed for talking in the capuchin chapel?
  13. Always enjoy shows at Empire and the ability to flow from one set to another between the two stages. Outdoor stage is as protected as can be so even in bad weather, you're protected. Also scored with a parking spot less than two blocks away. El Khat - was not sure what to expect but the Arabic-infused sound was fantastic. Could not understand a word but still an amazing set They Live - great 80s new wave infused sound. While I enjoyed their show, they seemed like an odd entry into the Levitation Festival. Same with... Say She She - more of a disco girl group sound... again, fun, lots of dancing and good times and the backing band was great but seemed like an odd fit. They Live was the opening band for Say She She's tour. Apparently one of the singers from the band was with El Michels Affair. Left the show midset to go back into the Control Room for... Pachyman - inject his dub reggae into my veins. Phenomenal. Really really good, Puerto Rican tinged dub. Love it! Altin Gun - amazing infusion of modern sounds, psychedelic sounds and Turkish Folk music. Crowd was packed for their show. We weren't able to stay for JJUUJJUU or Nolan Potter's Nightmare Band. Pachyman: They Live: El Khat: Altin Gun From the back on the way out...
  14. Correct and the city is full of amazing sites and gems that are completely ignored by the masses... and that's where we spend our time. As someone who has been to Rome over a dozen times to visit family, etc., I still haven't been to the Vatican Museums. I'll live. I still haven't been to Franklin, either.
  15. It is ball shriveling cold here... It will only last a couple of days so I'll allow it
  16. Maybe my eyes were scorched or I was squinting to not look
  17. Fat black guy? Last time was a fat white guy. Equal opportunity.
  18. I'm taking a short walk through the neighborhood so I can feel this come through and enjoy every minute of it.
  19. To be honest, they both are terrible. You can hate one and the other.
  20. Black Angels DJing earlier today at the Levitation Lounge on E 6th
  21. Was at an event in East Austin around 5 PM and a cell absolutely poured on us... and then it just wrapped up and the sun came out. Felt like a summer pop-up
  22. I would totally buy one. Its like having a pair of farted on Astrodome seats.
