Trump’s America
People with a brain see it, sure. Then again, we were saying all manner of this shit during his campaign as well. And look how that turned out?

Evangelical Christians
That's pretty harsh man. A lot of them were probably just brainwashed from an early age. You know how many times VY thanked God?

I think people are confusing you with the MAGA movement because you introduce yourself to strangers with "Hi, I'm Guadaloopy, and I'd like to talk to you a bit about the miracle that is the Tesla automobile." This guy nailed it 25 years ago. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/478.Bowling_Alone

2025 Week 12: Texas @ Georgia
He seems to have the same ability to choke in the big moment. That's not funny.

So weird that the Democrats want to release all the files that will incriminate themselves.

We still don't have a competent kicker.

The only way Baxter is cranking off a 60 yard run is if half of GA's defense spontaneously stroke out at the snap of the ball. Even then I don't think it's very likely.

It’s fucking game day bitches let’s go!
Lots of great work in this thread.

Elon Musk: Nazi traitor piece of shit [Confirmed]
Sure, in small numbers. There used to be like 10 in Houston, at least. Now I think it's down to 1 or two, and they're both in suburbs far enough away to make them nonexistent. Plus I'm not sure I want to muck through the used books deemed unfit to maintain ownership by the enlightened people of Copperfield or Katy. Lots of RC Slocum biographies.

Jeffrey Epstein needs his own thread
Someone walked through it. House sends it to the senate, the senate has to pass it, Trump can veto, then Congress overrides. But make Trump veto releasing the Epstein files, lol.

The disappearance of Half Price Books is one of the things I really lament. I used to go to the one by campus once a week with my buddy and pick up old editions for like a buck apiece. And when older, I'd often go browse on Sunday Mornings.

If you're referring to the TD, I don't really think it's fair to blame Guilbeau. That was an absurd catch. We weren't favored to win, though, which was the question.

Can that poster be 6th Street? He needs to be diving head first because the fucking spot the second he begins the slide is horseshit.

How'd you feel about Sark when he was hired at Texas. Holy shit, this guy is going full Spider2YBanana. Might want to see if he's raided the drug cabinet at the clinic.

SEC Catch-all Thread
You're both a father, and an old white dude. Sounds like you show up with bejangled Ed Hardy jeans and a salt life t-shirt to the parent teacher conferences and accuse your kid's teacher of being "sus."

Elon Musk: Nazi traitor piece of shit [Confirmed]
Well reading and listening activate different areas of the brain, and exercises different mental muscles. But at the end of the day, I think it's really just personal preference. You might not be missing out on anything at all, personally. I'm not the poster that claimed it was a Hill To Die On, but I mean, for me, perhaps I'm just dying on the hill of verbal pedantry that listening to a book is not, by definition, reading one. Because I'm on surly, therefore I'm an asshole. Personally, I enjoy reading, because I enjoy holding something solid in my hand, and the act of marking progress page by page. I also like that I'm forcing my brain to construct a word, then have to reach for the imagery associated with the words strong together and create the image in my head. I think reading is better for stretching and reinforcing vocabulary than listening. I like re-reading things, as other posters have said, if I find it striking or touching without having to hit the rewind 15 second button over and over. But that's just me. It doesn't mean I won't tell people who watch the movie instead of reading the novelization of a movie idiots, or wrong, etc. Also, just to remind everyone, including myself, that Elon Musk is a fucking piece of shit.

Should Traffic Controllers be paid during shutdowns? And should private planes receive the same access as commercial airlines during flight restrictions?
Just like nothing prevents congress from doing anything, other than being Congress.

My wife and I watched that series when it came out. Found it kind of meh, but it was definitely pretty to watch. Can't argue w/ $4.

That's you projecting. And then trying to justify, when no one asked for justification, that an audiobook can hit different emotionally. Of course it can, it has professional voice actors. The point is you went out of your way to defend audiobooks when someone just said "It's not reading." Man, thanks, I've got to go watch this.
