I was most disappointed in our slappers in that series. Their inability to put the ball in play and force Tenn to play defense really hurt us.
The SWC...it just meant more.
This should be a great game. Seeing how Gasso approaches the beast that is Bri Ellis will be entertaining. She is the best player in the country and it isn't close.
To be fair, lots of teams hit her.....just not us. She has a tendency to overthrow which affects her control and takes some spin off her other pitches. Texas chased her rise ball all weekend which ended up exactly how one would think it would.
Discipline at the plate, lots of small ball. Big sticks like Stewie and Atwood have to go up and sit on the off speed stuff. The spin pitchers have been our downfall this year. Hopefully that changes this evening.
This is exactly my thought as well. Texas will have to find a way to score 3 runs off Canady, because I don't think Tech would get more than 2 off of Kavan.
Texas will surely get a top 8. The real question is where do teams like Nebraska and Texas Tech go for supers? Facing Bahl or Canady at least twice in a three game series is to tough ask.
I was in Baton Rouge 2 weeks ago and was told by some locals that if Beth doesn’t get them to the WCWS that she would be fired. She will burn it down in a way that would make Jimbo jealous on her way out.
Patty is a cut throat, arrogant bitch. The worse part is that she flashes that Mr Ed smile and hides her true self behind the illusion of being a bible thumper. Her kids have been mediocre as coaches when they have tried to ween themselves from momma’s teets. Her players actions are a reflection of their coaches true self.
I don’t want anyone from that OF on the Horns. That is maybe the most embarrassing display of defense I have ever seen at the power 5 level. Middle schoolers catch most of those.
Rachel Lawson seems like a nice enough lady, but she is mediocre at best as a coach.
Landry is a good pitcher, but she is deadly when the ump is expanding the zone up and down. Hitters can’t be expected to protect from below the knee to cheat high.
Also, someday I believe there will be an Astro like discovery with the Sooners. There is no way that year after year they are always ready for whatever the pitcher throws.
