Enough with this bullshit yips mental shit. That shit is okay for isolated stretch in a game, not 3 game stretches especially vs bad competition. Arch is in his fucking 3rd year of the system and he’s missing wide open players in the offense, not seeing wide open players in the offense, etc. this is just straight up dog shit qb play
Do you really not understand what the yips are?
Don't use the word if you don't understand it.

for me, the term "leftist" is a pretty big red flag. nobody who is anywhere other than alt-right / far right uses the term and pretty consistently for them it means anyone to the left of them.
just to be clear, you can't be both on the left AND a groyper. that's just not how it works, groyper = very clearly alt-right / far right.

literally what you are asking for i think is this - what i found when i was looking:
SpoilerHere is what we know about the suspect in custody following that briefing from officials:
- Officials believe he was working alone at this point in the investigation
- He is from Utah and lived with his family in Washington County in the same state
- They did not give his age, but sources familiar with the investigation earlier told Reuters he was 22
- He was not a student at Utah Valley University (UVU), where the shooting took place
- Robinson arrived on campus in a gray Dodge Challenger at 8.29 a.m. (10.29 ET and 1429 GMT)
- A member of Robinson's family reached out to a family friend, who contacted the sheriff's office with information that Robinson had confessed to them or implied that he had committed the incident
- Robinson had become more political in recent years, according to a family member interviewed by investigators
- Investigators also interviewed a roommate who showed them several messages from Robinson on the platform Discord
- The contents of those messages included stating a need to retrieve a rifle from a drop point and leaving the rifle in a bush
- A message also referred to the rifle wrapped in a towel
- The messages also referred to engraving bullets and mentioned a scope, and the rifle being unique
- Robinson is being held at Utah County Jail

You cannot have the head of the FBI making statements like "we've got him" when you don't know for sure. This was inexcusable. Leave it to your field offices. Saying nothing there is better that saying you have him when you don't!
Seriously - you want to erode trust in an organization? Run it like this yahoos are doing it.
about that...
FBI forced out the head of the Salt Lake City field office like 6 weeks ago. evidently ~33% of the 50 something SAC's have been changed/fired/forced to retire in the last 6 months.
QuoteThe special agent in charge in Salt Lake City, Mehtab Syed, is being forced out just six months after being appointed in February, for reasons that are not clear, the sources said. Associate Deputy Director J. William Rivers, who works for Bongino and Patel, told Syed she wasn’t a good fit for the office, which covers Utah, Idaho and Montana, the sources said. He offered her a lower-level job in the FBI’s Huntsville, Alabama, facility, but she has decided to retire, the sources said. She did not respond to a request for comment.
really interesting article on Syed from March
SpoilerMehtab Syed has an impressive resume that includes working for the FBI in some of the nation's biggest cities and the department's most important divisions.
That's not bad for a woman who was born in Pakistan, moved to the United States when she was 17 and was working as a financial analyst for a restaurant chain.
"Never in a million years did I ever plan to be an FBI agent," she told KSL.com this week.
In February, Syed was named as the new head of the FBI's Salt Lake City field office, which also includes Idaho and Montana.
Syed's unexpected career change and rapid rise within the FBI began in 2001 after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in New York City.
"I was perfectly fine with my degree in finance and doing financial work. But after 9/11, I just wanted to do something different and wanted to be part of a solution instead of part of a problem," she said.
Syed, who is Muslim, was living in New York at the time of the attack.
"You feel shame first because you're Muslim, (and) you see someone doing something so bad, and it kind of reflects who you are. But then I got angry, and I was like, 'Uh-uh, that's not happening.'"
She decided to start applying for jobs at FBI field agencies.
"I just wanted to do something," Syed recalled.
But after initially not getting any return calls, Syed actually forgot about her application to the FBI. It wasn't until she came home one day and her son told her the FBI had called. Syed called the number they had left.
"They said, 'Hello, FBI.' I hung up," she recalled, with a laugh.
Syed initially didn't believe the FBI had actually called her about her application. But after talking to her son again, she called them back a second time and before she knew it, she was entering the FBI Academy at age 35.
She began working as an agent in the New York field office in 2005 and worked on counterterrorism investigations, was a member of the crisis negotiation team and the rapid deployment team.
In 2008, Syed was sent to Islamabad, Pakistan, as acting assistant legal attaché.
"She was responsible for conducting extensive coordination between law enforcement, intelligence, and security services of multiple governments," according to her bio. In 2015, she was assigned to a similar position in Amman, Jordan, as assistant legal attaché.
After Pakistan, she returned to New York, where she was the supervisor of a counterterrorism task force that investigated such groups as Al-Qaeda and ISIS, she said. Then, in 2012, she was asked by her supervisors to work at the FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C.
"I really didn't want to. But I was being pushed and was told that I need to go and do something different," she said.
Syed continued her counterterrorism work in Washington, but on a more global basis.
By 2020, she was working in the Newark, New Jersey, field office as the assistant special agent-in-charge of cyber and counterintelligence. In 2022, she was promoted to section chief of the China Operations II Branch of the Counterintelligence Division at the FBI's headquarters in Washington. By 2023, she was moved to the Los Angeles field office to once again oversee cyber and counterintelligence.
Syed also spent some time in Utah for "survival training" in 2013, she said. And after working for years in some of the nation's biggest cities, she recently requested to return to the Beehive State to fill the job as the special agent-in-charge at the Salt Lake office.
"I like change. I like (a) challenge. I'd never been to Montana before. I'd never been to Idaho, so I came here. And I'm so glad that I did because I'm really enjoying my time here," she said.
She describes her job now as making phone calls to headquarters to make sure her agents in Utah, Idaho and Montana get the resources they need. But she admits that the job in Utah is much different than working in New York or Los Angeles.
"Until I came to Utah, I had no idea how different the Utah territory is than being in New York, LA (and) Newark, because we cover here three different states," she said. "So, just the time to go from one resident agency to another takes hours and hours. And don't get me wrong, I'm used to driving for hours. Only 30 miles can take two hours in New York. But it's a different kind of traveling. I have a whole new appreciation for my agents here in Utah and Montana and Idaho. It's different challenges here.
"I think what we need here is more resources, more agents, more professional staff, more intel analysts," she continued. "My goal is to bring more resources back to Utah … and Billings and Idaho. We need more agents here."
Rather than counterterrorism, she said some of the main priorities in Utah are going after gangs, cartels and drug traffickers and protecting citizens, while also lending technical support and intel to other federal and local agencies to assist with their investigations.
"Whatever the priority is do, that's what we do," she said.

Thanks @NoName, heading there in a few weeks with some friends. I have heard Uber is not reliable. Do you have any recs on a ride share or driving service? The place we are staying is about ten minutes outside of town.
I can ask around, Uber or Lyft are usually pretty reliable these days, and being like 10 min out of town should be fine with Uber I bet.
I've seen these guys around town: https://uridezllc.com/ and Black Sheep: https://www.theblacksheeptours.com/

FBG Recs (updated September 2025)
Food/Restaurants:
- Prometheus Pizzas Trattoria is fabulous. If you want great food this is the spot, they have a pretty set/standard menu (salads, pizza, apps), then a set entrée list (Steak Frites, roman chicken, fish of some kind) then nightly specials. Love their pizzas (started off as a NY-style ish food truck thats still open.) Awesome neighborhood spot, with a serious wine program. Great desserts, favorite is the Tiramisu – if this makes sense it’s way more coffee forward than cream forward, which I love. They are wine/beer only and walk in only.
- Casa Chloe - Think higher-end Mexican food. Have either had almost everything on the menu or been at the table when someone ordered it. It's incredible. Do yourself a favor: Sit outside if the weather is even halfway decent. Favorites are the tortilla soup, smoked chicken nachos (brisket is ok, but their smoked chicken is incredible), tacos (shrimp) and flan. The churro looks fantastic but we never go away from the flan. Great cocktail menu. Bow did a great job with it. He's the owner, old guy who sits at the end of the bar in a cowboy hat - go say hi. They have a ton of rules around kids staying in seats and a bunch of other ones, its not particularly quiet inside but the food is worth it. Just check the rules ahead of time. Recommend getting a reservation ahead of time
- Eaker BBQ (off West Main): former Top 50 BBQ joint with a Korean flair on the sides- can't recommend them enough. Texas Trinity is awesome. House made sausage that’s on point. their saturday special is typically a pork belly burnt end made one of a few different ways (hot honey glazed, gochujang glazed, raspberry chipolte glazed, jalapeno, mango habanero, etc) - great BBQ and even better people that own it. https://www.instagram.com/eakerbarbecue/
- Vaudeville - recommend the Mediterranean plate, chicken pesto pizza, charred octopus, lump crab curry (Fri night only), and braised beef over polenta is awesome. We order basically the same stuff every time – med plate app, chicken pesto pizza and split an entree. Their pot de crème is excellent, as is coconut rice pudding. Cool downstairs setting off Main, great date spot. Cookies are also great, but at $5+ per they are comically expensive and never worth it. Just order there, and then go drive over to Austin St Creamery. reservations recommended, i think they use RESY.
- Los Tios is a new Mexican food place where August Es used to be. Chain from Houston but it's easily the best Mexican food in town. Best fajitas in town, by a million miles. I know that it gets a bad rap from Houston people, but it really is awesome here in Fred. Not sure what’s different. Been a line a lot of the time there, but usually goes pretty quickly. Best “order ahead” / to go process of anywhere in town.
- Hondos - we usually order some combo of queso, grilled chicken sandwich, burgers, brisket mac & cheese are all great. strong margs, recommend the spicy one. They have live music basically every night and they finally added fans outside during COVID. warning: it's a self serve restaurant which bothers some folks but who cares. waiting list only, no reservations - you want to sit outside though.
- if you want good food and a little less fancy, with outdoor seating and a more new orleans style flair? Granite House. all of their apps are solid to very good. best chicken fried steak in Fredericksburg, get the fried egg on top. they have a seafood pasta special every night that's very good. i like their shrimp and grits. waiting list only, no reservations - you want to sit outside though.
- Ottos is pretty well regarded as the "best" restaurant in FBG but their menu just never has pulled me in. had good experiences, but just not a menu that's for me. highly recommend a reservation, they use Tock
- Want actual Mediterranean food? Cafe Dimona
- Alla Campagna on Main. Northern Italian steakhouse. wife's favorite app in town is their roasted garlic & ricotta meatballs. highly rec the bucatini and wild boar paparadelle. had almost all of their pizzas, but the margherita is the one we go back to. i would skip the steak, it's good but not $80 good. sides are ok - charred broccolini is excellent. their tiramisu is great, more creamy than coffee-forward.
- highly recommend a reservation, they use Tock. probably want to sit inside based on weather.
- if you want something to go, they have a side entrance off of Milam for to go orders - recent one from wife and I was to order the bucatini, add a couple of the ricotta meatballs + pizza and split it
- Woerner Warehouse: solid lunch spot, good sandwiches and salads - make sure you order the Key Lime Pie!
- Pecan Grove is the best burger for my money in FBG. it's north of town a bit and service is slow but you are drinking a beer in an...old pecan grove...and enjoying live music. much more of a locals spot than a tourist spot. wine/beer only.
- If you are out on 290, Leroy's Tex Mex BBQ is mexi-que. Really good across the board, and they have v solid but expensive breakfast tacos in the morning. Their queso is awesome, looks small but they go through the line fast. Great seating area outside. Attached to Jensche Farms next to Trade Days.
- Emi’s on Main – behind the Nimitz, where Tubby’s Ice House used to be. Super friendly fast casual Mexican food spot. Beer/wine only I believe. Really the most kid friendly food spot in town, you can order online for pickup too. Highly recommend if you have kids.
- Taqueria Machetes is downtown next to the Nimitz. Hildas is easier for breakfast tacos but Machetes is better and it isn't really close. They also have a salsa bar that's awesome.
- Airport Diner – located at the airport, going for a diner look/feel. Food is just ok, but it’s never been bad and it’s the best spot in town for a view – you literally look out on the landing strip for the FBG Airport. 40’s style diner, gets SUPER busy at times but you can walk around the landing strip and look at the planes while you wait for a seat or for food to come out. Lots of rocking chairs next door in the shade at the Hanger Hotel
Coffee:
- Caliche is the best coffee in town and nothing else is close. can take your lady friend there for an excellent avocado toast - i usually get the green chile grits bowl if they have it on menu. next door to Alla Campagna. they roast their own beans and know their coffee shit.
- Sure Shot is an easy in/out place for coffee. Small menu, across the street from Whataburger. Still prefer Caliche straight up but it's faster and easier for locals on Saturday morning, lots of locals end up going here
- Revive Organics used to be called something else but it's a locally owned smoothie / juice / coffee / whatever else place that's just across the street from HEB. Not my jam but the wife loves it as does literally every single lady I know in town. Awesome owners, great service. I think you can order online/ahead also.
Dessert:
- Austin Street Creamery – off of Austin Street, near Austin St and Crockett. The best ice cream in town by a wide margin. Hours are 3-8 or 3-9, it’s a walk up ice cream window attached to a boutique hotel / airBNB place (Whitetail Court) – tried almost all of their non chocolate offerings and every single one is awesome. Steve has spent a ton of hours on their recipes, they make them all in house/from scratch and you can absolutely tell.
- Pritzers Sweet Shop: if you are walking around downtown this is a little tiny bakery that has excellent baked good. croissants are great, large salted pretzel - go to are their cookies: cowboy, snickerdoodle or cinnamon toast marshmallow
- Piccolina: italian ice spot downtown (main & lincoln) that's fantastic - use local produce as much as possible. try all their flavors, but the lemon is the best seller for a reason.
Beer/Wine/Bars:
- Witcher Craft Brewing Company – brewery out on 290, like 10 min out of Fredericksburg. Genuinely, the most kid friendly spot in the area. Best soft pretzel I’ve ever had. Bunch of different beer options, wife enjoys their seltzer as well. Chips and salsa is great, pimento cheese is great, sausages are awesome. They are adding some BBQ options currently. Have a big area inside to sit and watch games, or enjoy the AC if it’s hot outside. Back yard area is set up perfectly for younger / older kids to play https://witcherbrewingco.com/
- Ferris & Fletch. Extremely kid friendly if you go to the back yard, and they have great wines made by even better people. Can’t go wrong with their product, highly recommend it. Next door is the new lobster roll place (they have been a food truck for probably a year looking for a B&M in town)
- Pontotac Winegarten - like 2 doors down from Hondos and on the same block as Hondos, Alla Campagna and Caliche. cool spot off of Main that you can sit, enjoy some wine or their house made sangria. order the picnic packet which is some homemade pimento cheese, bread, olives, nuts, chocolate chip cookie, berries and sausage if you want to sit for a minute.
- Take your lady to Six Twists. Champagne bar across the street from Bubble Bus. Champagne bar basically that does some awesome tastings. Very unique spot.
- The Restaurant at Albert Hotel. Extremely meh reviews for locals on the food, maybe its better now but I’ll never know. Great bar though, go with your lady friend, enjoy an app or just people watch at the bar there. Again, the restaurant is mediocre. Not a fan of their coffee shop on Main (The Pharmacy) – long lines, pastries look awesome but flavor doesn’t match the look. Coffee is mediocre. Go to Caliche or Sure Shot instead.
- Other Winery recs:
- Signor is a beautiful vineyard off of 290, they just opened a spot in town off of Crockett St like half a block off of Main, haven’t been there yet
- Lost Draw is the first place when you are leaving Johnson City heading to Fredericksburg, they used to be in town but moved out a few years ago, awesome area and kid friendly
- William Chris is probably the best wine in the area, again can be kid friendly and a bunch of different places to sit across their property. Located in Hye
Honestly, we used to suggest to go to 290 spots, which you can but with Ponotoac, Signor, Ferris & Fletch all in town and a bunch of people having tasting rooms off of Main you can still taste a bunch without being out on 290
One line reviews for some other popular places
Spoiler- Texas Sunrise is great for brunch but gets busy
- Martinis is here, serves seafood towers for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and is the loudest place i've ever been.
- Campo Azul is good for standard mexican food, nowhere else is worth going to imo, avoid mamacitas like your life depends on it
- Panda is the locals spot for chinese food
- Belly up brew pub has some good beers and good food. should probably add them to the list above, but like Witcher better
- Sunday Supply and Kaffee Haus are fine coffee places. I don't give any money to Rockhouse for lots of reasons, Java Ranch has been here a million years but is so far behind Caliche, Sure Shot, Sunday Supply and Kaffee Haus it isn't funny. spend your dollars somewhere better
- Hill and Vine has great food in a cool location but have turned off a ton of locals and I personally won't be back due to service issues (a lot of them)
- Hildas has the easiest breakfast tacos in town. If your wife is under the weather after a long day out Friday, go to Sure Shot and get a coffee, then go pick up breakfast tacos from Hildas
- Older locals like Backwoods BBQ. Don't have high expectations for any of their smoked meats, although their Steak night is always solid.
- BurgerBurger is the very definition of fine. You can go get a way way way better burger, better ambiance, better drinks and better apps at Hondos.
as always, happy to make recs or answer any specific questions people may have. Needed to update the list due to places closing/new reviews.

OU's a fucking problem, and any of you assholes that don't think so are in for a big shock.
the reason's i'm not worried about OU:
- Texas will easily be the best defense they play this year, they only scored 24 points against Michigan, at home.
- the Texas defense is going to win some games this year on their own and the amount of faith I have in PK, Nansen and co to put together a comprehensive gameplan to stop the OU offense is through the roof
- OU RBs: their RBs are fucking bad, like genuinely terrible. still had a ton of stopped runs vs Michigan after having a ton vs Ill State (<=2 yards) Texas has the DLs to stop the run and let the back 7 handle Mateer
- OU OL: pointing out again they are playing 2 true freshmen on the OL, which ain't great. Texas has a less experienced OL than last year but everyone playing snaps has been in the program, with a consistent coach and consistent S&C. that goes a LONG way.
- it's the first thing resembling a road game for OU - vs Ill State, vs Michigan, @ Temple, vs Auburn, vs Kent State so far.
- I have faith in Sark to figure some things out with Arch and put together a working game plan, I think if Texas scores more than 21 points they win. I think Texas scores more than 21 points
Texas has a better defense, a better OL, better RB, better WR and unless Sark goes full Sark i think they win.

Is there anything Arch can do vs SJSU to change your opinion of him positively or negatively. I’ll say I’m still high on but a 30/35 for 350 performance won’t really change much. Now a 15 for 32 may make me wonder
one million percent, and it has everything to do with mechanics (are they going back to what we saw last year or are they going to be that shitty feet parallel with LOS and side arm shit) and layering of balls/accuracy and 0 percent to do with his stat line.

i hate to be the one to bring this up, but last season there was zero shortage of, “quinn has obviously been playing hurt”, excuses, and now it’s like, “there’s zero fucking chance that arch is hurt, they wouldn’t be letting him play.” clashing takes aside, college football players obviously do play through minor injuries all of the time, so this idea that there’s just no chance that he’s dealing with an injury issue doesn’t hold water.
we now know Ewers tore his oblique in the Michigan game and played the entire season with it.

It's more 'thinking little of Colton Herta'. I don't think they should put Logan in the car. Williams left him in that POS far too long and absolutely crushed him. I'm just saying they could do much better than putting Herta in that seat.

From OU on3 site. OL shuffling incoming
OU could start two freshmen on the offensive line this Saturday against No. 15 Michigan.
In January, the Sooners brought in two of the most highly-touted freshmen linemen in the country in Michael Fasusi and Ryan Fodje. And since they arrived on campus, they’ve been impressive. Both competed for starting jobs this preseason camp — Fasusi at left tackle and Fodje at right guard. And both could be the difference versus the Wolverines.
“We’ve been bragging on those guys since they got here in January, every opportunity we could,” coach Brent Venables said on Wednesday during the SEC teleconference. “Only because their physical maturity and mental maturity have stood out, their willingness, their ability to show up every day and work at a high level, pick up the mental challenges of learning a new language, and then being away from home for the first time, they’ve been exceptional in every way.”
Fasusi didn’t play in the season opener versus Illinois State after having a heat-related episode in practice. But he’s expected to return against Michigan and could potentially start with Jacob Sexton likely missing the game due to a knee injury.
“It’ll be good to get Mike back,” Venables said. “He had a really good fall camp.”
As for Fodje, he could also start on Saturday. He came in at right guard in the first quarter and never came back out, playing 56 of Oklahoma’s 72 snaps.
“I thought it was, for a true freshman, that Ryan did some fantastic things,” Venables said. “He whooped and got whooped, lost a few battles as well, which is part of it.”
According to SoonerScoop sources, Fasusi and Fodje have both gotten some first-team reps in practice this week. So has Derek Simmons at right tackle, as he also missed the first game.
It’ll be fascinating to see who takes the first snaps of the game on Saturday. Oklahoma has several options at every position, including even center, as Troy Everett and Jake Maikkula are still battling.
But it’s clear whether they start or not, there’s a good chance both Fasusi and Fodje will play meaningful snaps on Saturday night. That’s a tall task for two true freshmen, but OU feels like they are up for it.
“Both those guys are mature beyond their years,” Venables said. “Have a lot to still learn and a lot of developing still, but we trust those guys. They’re going to strain, they’re going to compete, they’re going to respond. They’re going to show up ready to play.”
-

I just don't get Caddy's fascination with Herta, other than he's American. He's just not that good. He's not even the quickest American. If they must have an American, even Sargeant is quicker than Colton, and I'm sure the damage done to his confidence at Williams could be repaired.
really like to hear why you think Sargeant is faster? dude hasn't been in a real race of any kind for like 13 months and had one of the worst F1 seasons vs his teammate in recent history?
also, Sargeant getting out quali'd 34-1 (i think) vs Albon kind of says it all for me (i think Albon scored 39 points to his 1 during same timeframe)
even Mazepin went 3-19 against Mick.
is this thinking a lot of Logan or thinking so little of Colton Herta?

Derka i'm not attacking you here, so please don't take it that way. This take from Ryan Clark about the generational talent is pretty fucking stupid though. Recruiting services and every school in the country all agreed that he was the best QB in his class. He had a 1.000 rating for fucks sake. His arm talent is on the same tier as Lawrence, Andrew Luck, etc. Anyone who saw him play all agreed. What we're just going to fucking act like that didn't happen? How is there any evidence that he isn't a generational player? There is absolutely zero evidence that Bryce Underwood is a generational talent. The Michigan QB room was a dumpster fire. You don't pay someone that much to sit the bench. The family said from the beginning that he was going to sit and take his time - there was no rush. If there is a problem with Arch I think it was that his family allowed him just to sit back and learn rather than push him to take the job from Quinn.
This response is just as reactionary and stupid as those who hyped him to the moon. The kid sucked ass last weekend and deserves his lumps but he also deserves the benefit of time as the starter and time to learn. You can count on 1 hand the number of QBs in college who make that throw down the sideline in the 4th quarter. Ryan Clark can miss me with this bullshit.
Ryan Clark don't know shit about CFB and isn't worth paying attention to in this scenario at all.
but come on man, you can't say "look at the 1.000 rating" when this is Bryce Underwood's rating:
