  1. Mike Tomin has never called an offensive play in his entire career as far as I know, not a single one. he came up in the NFL on the defensive side as part of the Tampa 2 stuff that Monte Kiffin was running down there. Shane Steichen is currently 7-5. Mike Tomlin is currently 7-6 this year and has won 8+ games in every single season he has ever coached at the NFL level. all 16 of them. has he benefited from the stability? sure. but acting like he may not be very good when we have actual results that say "yeah, he's pretty good" is really fucking dumb. should he have fired Matt Canada long ago? absolutely. acting like we may not know if a guy who has 0 losing seasons in 16 years of coaching at the NFL level is good is an all time terrible take. not saying he's up there as one of the 5 greatest coaches of all time, but he's absolutely a good to great coach.
  2. here's an article from the UGA standpoint last year before their game vs TCU: https://blutarsky.wordpress.com/2023/01/04/tcus-flyover-defense/ there is a long mgoblog post they recommend above but here is the direct link if you want more info about the ISU version:https://mgoblog.com/content/neck-sharpies-soup-defense Ian Boyd has also written a ton about it, but i'm going to choose not to link to him.
  3. yeah now that natives exist no reason for your kid to wear crocs.
  4. if you think Ian Boyd is a good talking head, maybe you can bring him over to OB.
  5. is Mike Tomlin really that great?!? 1) Mike Tomlin isn't the GM, that's Omar Khan who has been with the team since 2001 in different roles. they had a GM that was there from basically 2000 to 2021. Khan took over in 2022. 2) Mike Tomlin is going to finish this year inside the top 15 coaches in NFL wins ever and has a very real chance, if he coaches 3 more full years, to finish inside the top 10 all time. 3) Mike Tomlin has coached in the NFL for 16 years and has never had a losing record. has a win% better than Parcells, Chuck Knox, Dan Reeves, Chuck Noll, Bill Cowher, Tom Landry, Marv Levy and Mike Shanahan. so yes, Mike Tomlin is pretty fucking good.
  6. i know i am blowing this thread up, but i really am shocked every time i see the interior and back seat. look how tall you have to be or sit in order to see out the rear door windows! also if you are curious what that dumb purple thing is below the red line i added above, here is a bigger screenshot
  7. MKBHD Releases Cybertruck 2nd Impressions Video – “All the Numbers Except 0 to 60 Mph are Worst Than They Promised, 1st Time That’s True for Tesla” https://www.torquenews.com/11826/mkbhd-releases-cybertruck-2nd-impressions-video-all-numbers-except-0-60-mph-are-worst-they/amp the article includes showing just how dumb and full of shit Musk and TSLA is of course those cunts think it's reasonable to put out a "how to" guide when they have released like 5 cars and are going to make only 250k of them over the next 13 months. i'm sure there won't be any issues or problems or anything else with them lol here is the relevant Marques comments: few more quotes from waveform: “The quality isn’t great; it’s not horrible. It’s a Tesla” “A piece fell off before we started testing it”

  9. i'm trying to figure what specific talent or combination of talents he has that pulls Saban to go to D-field in December and for Texas to stick with him. i don't think he's shit, obviously, but this is the kind of superchat question folks need to be asking Gerry in IT Live videos. i'm assuming he is really fucking good at some specific attribute or a really unique blend of things - everything talks about how elusive he is but how much of that is the competition he is facing? evidently they think it's his elusiveness that's a very high %tile skill? <6' dudes who may be DB/WR and have great acceleration and twitch but who have more room to be faster at the high end aren't exactly super rare. and it isn't like he is at some small small ETX school like Hughes Springs or Linden-Kildare where their football program is lagging behind. Gabe Brooks Scouting Report: Daniel Seahorn:
  10. the stars and scrubs strategy really is going to be interesting to follow, because nobody else in the country or as long as i have followed recruiting has done it at all. currently has 1 top 100 composite recruit (Seaton is #15 overall) with 2 more between 100 and 105 . then everything really drops off a cliff with the next highest recruiting being a .9160 which computes to the #230 recruit in Texas. he has some RB recruit at the bottom of the class that's a .87xx which is outside the top 650 composite players in Texas. it's also wild as hell that he's out here totally ignoring the state of Colorado with high school recruits? signed 1 last cycle and has 0 committed this cycle even though recruits in the state top 10 are committed to P5s like Tenn, Nebraska and USC...last year there were commits going to places like Oregon and OU and Michigan too. so not like it's just a dreadful state for producing talent also you sure seems early to be taking a victory lap about a recruiting class when 0 of them have signed yet lol
  11. yup. i thought the modern take was that Hatch Chiles at one point were like Pecos Cantaloupes where differences in taste is attributed to the soil makeup and weather where they are grown vs them being a genetically divergent species. granted, this was probably before the Hatch-ification of everything by said marketing professional.
  12. Barron got his first offer from TCU, then committed to them before even getting his 2nd offer. decommitted like a month later then was uncommitted until summer, committed to Baylor in June, didn't take any more OVs, signed LOI with Baylor under Matt Rhule. Ruhle left, he asked for a release from his LOI, was granted it, committed to Texas and enrolled at Texas like 5 days later. not a 1:1 comparison to Hampton. Sydney already touched on the Banks comparison and why it's bad and you should feel bad. Hampton is probably the flakiest recruitment Texas has been all in since Justin Watkins.
  13. object avoidance is different than re-mapping. mapping is more like "you moved your couch, what does the room look like now" - and i believe mapping wise it's always looking. now you have an app where you can identify rooms, create go/no go areas, etc pretty easily. object avoidance is a chair got moved from the dining table, or the purse on the floor or a kids toy is in the middle of the room - it just goes around it and cleans around it. no big deal on those issues. new ones are awesome on that front.

aw man if the USSF can't push them to do cool shit when they are hosting the world cup they are even worse than i thought they were, which is hard to believe.
  15. TSU's livestream currently has 80 people watching it OB Live currently has 83 people watching it
  16. what? i agree he very likely does not come back BUT if he does, his stats are absolutely likely improve next year. Texas loses about 60% of their catches from this year in Worthy, Sanders, Whittington, Brooks. Even if they only lost Worthy and Brooks, that's still 33% of their catches. i would prefer to use targets, but don't have those at hand. idk what happens to him but to look at the results this year, who Texas is bringing back - and i assume he only comes back if Ewers comes back, and the offense he should absolutely have better #s next year just from being the pretty clear cut #1 alone. he's had 3 or fewer catches in 10 games this year. he's had over 100 yards in every game he's had more than 3 catches. this is just him covering his NIL bases if he hears back that he is likely to go in the 2nd or 3rd vs the 1st and preparing folks for the chance it happens e: just happened across Nash's post that includes target counts for some players, but not all of em. either way, losing 222 targets between Worthy/JTS/Whitt is huge
  17. i mean, i have no recollection of Texas fans arguing for TCU or Baylor in 2014 - or really caring at all coming off getting the shit kicked out of us 48-10 by TCU like a week before the rankings came out.
  18. SI story on it, basically sounds like he enrolled as a student at NDSU - not on the FB team, then moved to Univ of Sious Fallx for 2 years on the football then went in the portal to Washington, wasn't eligible, and now is eligible because the semester as ended? https://www.si.com/college/washington/football/uw-edge-zach-durfee-draws-teammate-support-in-eligibility-battle see this is the kind of shit where we need some halfway decent Washington posters over here to explain more in depth/add some color e: guess this is the story basically in full: https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/uw-husky-football/notebook-transfer-edge-zach-durfee-eligible-to-make-uw-debut-in-college-football-playoff/
  19. Taylor really was fucking terrible at competitions - 2 HOH wins, 0/6 in vetos for comparison Cameron won 3 HOH and and 2 vetos and at least made it fairly deep in some competitions. i know they already had this rocking and rolling due to the strikes but i'm going to assume right now it's really not very good.
  20. the players unions have a long history of not giving a good damn about anyone who isn't a member. the MLBPA constantly screws over minor leaguers, draftees, foreign players, J2 signees, etc in favor of their members/MLB players.
  21. haven't seen this posted anywhere so adding it here since it's at least relevant. A&M/Elko hired Derek Miller as the GM and Shaun Cook as the DPP as well as some other dudes from Duke to fill out the personnel dept. thanks again Bjork for publicly confirming that A&M is a bunch of broke boys before the coach was hired and that they will be skimping as much as possible anywhere they possibly can. bringing over basically your entire back of house leadership/player personnel team from Duke of all places? lol --- Sources: Mike Elko, Texas A&M make key personnel move Shaun Cook set to slide into No. 2 personnel role
  22. https://footballscoop.com/news/this-wild-nil-idea-involving-live-in-game-donations-might-just-work This wild NIL idea involving live in-game donations might just work Imagine being able to Venmo players in real-time after big plays. this could be set up but would need to be done in a different way, right? it's basically the BAMF awards here, but if you give one of those out @immamac you guys have to have some kind of contract, right? it isn't like you are sending someone straight venmo. seems like an idea that could/would work for everyone from the smaller schools up to the p5s.
  23. running play cut ups from the Oregon game its probably 10+ cuts he has a lot of Texas cuts too but most of those are 1 offs and not in a single thread and just for fun, because who doesn't want to see the Go-Go take over CFB?
