  2. Pop over to Bellagio? They have 3 games going of $2/5 maybe you’ll have better luck over there
  3. And Chamblee also roasting Reed now on the Golf Channel
  4. Dallas National would be major worthy as a course but it was looked at for majors and there’s a lot more that goes into the selection to host one. They have a lot of bridges (somewhat narrow) to cross over areas and creeks and it’s not conducive for EMS and big crowds.
  5. I attended the Saturday round of the US Open there. Walked the whole course following Deron Clarke and it was a blast: The 2001 United States Open Championship was the 101st U.S. Open, held June 14–18 at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The U.S. Open returned to Southern Hills for the first time since 1977. Retief Goosen won the first of his two U.S. Open titles in an 18-hole Monday playoff, two strokes ahead of runner-up Mark Brooks. The tournament was also notable for ending defending champion Tiger Woods' run of four consecutive major championship wins, the "Tiger Slam;" he finished seven strokes back in a tie for twelfth. Woods reclaimed the U.S. Open title the following year, and won the PGA Championship at Southern Hills in 2007.
  6. The central market at Preston Royal is still closed for reconstruction and the fire station right there was totally wiped out. But yeah there were some weird hits and misses in close proximity.
  7. It moved to Preston/Royal years ago? Then got hit by the tornado and had to close for awhile for construction fixes and I think it’s back open. Haven’t been.
  8. So we aren’t gonna fuck up coin toss anymore? Alright alright alright.
  9. So he’s not gonna be our next LB coach: After three years in Detroit, Matt Patricia is heading back to Foxborough, Massachusetts. Patrica, who served on the Patriots' coaching staff from 2004-17, is re-joining New England's coaching staff, according to Jim McBride of The Boston Globe.
  10. Austin, Texas – Texas Head Football Coach Steve Sarkisian is nearing completion of his Longhorn assistant coaching staff, he announced on Friday. All totaled among the nine assistant coaches and Director of Football Performance, the staff has a combined 206 years of coaching experience, including 180 years in collegiate coaching, has coached in 93 bowl games, 11 CFP playoff games and seven National Championship Games, and they have won six of those. "I'm so excited with how this staff is coming together and thrilled to be officially announcing a tremendous group of coaches, teachers and mentors that will be joining us at Texas," Sarkisian said. "From a developmental and scheme standpoint, there's a lot that goes into finding the right mix of coaches to put together to make your staff. We put a ton of thought into this, looked for the best fit in every position, are very happy with how it's working out, and I really believe you can put this group of coaches up against any staff in the country. They all are highly-regarded, knowledgeable, proven coaches and teachers who can recruit with the best of them and will develop players and maximize their ability. All of them have had a lot of success, are outstanding mentors, coaches and leaders of men, and it's just a great group of guys. They'll all bring their strengths, but at the end of the day, we will come together as one to work toward achieving our common goal of building an elite program and winning championships." Three members of the assistant coaching staff were part of Alabama's 2020 National Championship season, four have experience coaching in the NFL, two will be continuing their tenure on the Longhorn staff, and all totaled, they have combined to work with 25 conference championship teams. "Player development, X's and O's and ability to recruit were our priorities with this staff. When you look at their backgrounds, there's experience and expertise from an NFL standpoint, coaching at a very high level in the college ranks, and it's an outstanding collection of proven and successful recruiters, as well," Sarkisian added. "For every coach we hired, I looked closely at their ability to recruit and evaluate prospects, and this group can do that with the best of them. They all have a great recruiting background and many of them with significant ties to recruiting in the state of Texas." The group has touched almost every area of the country, while still possessing significant experience both coaching and recruiting in the state of Texas. Six of the assistant coaches have spent time coaching in the Lone Star State, and a seventh was a standout player for the Longhorns. "It was critical to hire enough coaches with ties to the state of Texas, and extensive backgrounds recruiting our great state," Sarkisian said. "The Texas high school coaches are exceptional, and our relationships with them are critical, essential and priority number one. We will recruit nationally, but we know we have to take care of Texas first and this is a staff that will do that extremely well." Sarkisian also placed considerable emphasis on building a staff that would work well together, have camaraderie and establish strong relationships with the student-athletes. "Coaching is big, and they all have excellent track records in training players and developing fundamentals and techniques, but it's a group that will do a phenomenal job building relationships and developing players, which will be a huge priority for us," Sarkisian said. "Camaraderie was a key, as well. I think a staff that works well together works well with its players, and this group will definitely do that. This is a staff that will build tremendous relationships, cares deeply about the student-athletes and will put our young men in a position to be successful on the football field, in the classroom and in all aspects of their lives." "I'm pumped up about our coaching staff, there's a lot of work to be done, and now it's time to roll up our sleeves and get to work."
  11. Wake up to see over 300 posts overnight and think what did the night crew do now? It’s worse than I could have expected. Looks like I picked a bad week to quit sniffing glue.
  12. Mi Cocina, the Tex-Mex restaurant known for its brisket tacos and frozen Mambo Taxi cocktails, won the bid to be the flagship restaurant at Klyde Warren Park in Dallas. Company executives will pump at least $2 million into a renovation of the glassed-in restaurant that currently sits vacant, says Edgar Guevara, president and CEO of M Crowd restaurant group, which operates Mi Cocina. Mi Cocina on the Park is expected to open this fall. The park’s board of directors had been hunting for a new tenant since Savor closed in August 2020. The restaurant is on park grounds, and the park benefits from the success of the restaurant. About 8% of Mi Cocina’s sales will go into Klyde Warren, which is meaningful money for the privately funded park, says Kit Sawers, the park’s president. https://www.dallasnews.com/food/restaurant-news/2021/01/19/klyde-warren-parks-new-high-profile-restaurant-mi-cocina/
  13. My buddy and I made the trip to Lincoln in 1998. That Saturday was also Halloween and the atmosphere was awesome. The Nebraska fans were the nicest we had ever encountered before and after the game and we were blown away by the hospitality. But they were anticipating a win (they had a massive home game win streak we broke) and made t-shirts to commemorate the event. I bought one after the game and still have it. On the front it says Nebraska Vs Texas Oct 31, 1998. Keeping with the Halloween theme, on the back it says “Nightmare at Memorial Stadium”. It’s still never not funny to me.
  14. If this holds up, score one for the night crew. Nice job . . . Hat tip . . .
  15. Yep. With the plexiglass and masks, poker isn’t the social game we all love. I will return to poker when this whole mess is over.
