  1. When the musical chairs stop there are more notable schools and I don't think any of the are A&M/OU/Clemson. USC UCLA LSU Nebraska PSU TCU Tech Florida WSU Michigan State (LSU look) Baylor (LSU look) Florida State Miami VaTech Then throw in one "what in the world are they thinking" school and you've got massive turnover among P5 schools as little as 10% and as much as 20%.
  2. Have a feeling LSU is going back to the well in you guys.
  3. I buy that but I also buy that with VTech. Toss in Nebraska and you’ve got so many potential jobs being open and you don’t have a ton of “up and coming” coaches. That means shifting of pieces or using retreads. Sonny dykes is ok but he was a more or less awful at Cal, his only major conference stop. At SMU he is very similar to LaTech (.05 better win percentage that will improve this season) but he still has yet to win a bowl game. Someone mentioned it earlier but we think the offseason is going to be busy when the early signing period is going to make early December busy.
  4. Jobs that are open or going to be open that are better or as good as TCU: USC LSU FSU PSU Miami Michigan StAte tech baylor iowa state Nebraska Obviously this list breaks into the carousel but just off the cuff I came up with 9 schools that could pull a coach before TCU gets one. I’m not saying all will be open or that tech/Baylor would be more attractive but all of those schools can compete with TCU for a coach and win them. I don’t know what you do if you are TCU, maybe the solution was to fire Patterson last year or the year before, but getting into the game this year isn’t optimal.
  5. Florida state is also going to be looking most likely. TCU thinks they’re getting ahead of things in the traylor sweepstakes but they might not even be in the top 3 for his services… maybe not top 5 if things fall a certain way.
  6. This seems like it should be a bigger deal. TCU is entering one of the hottest coaching markets in a while and they aren’t even necessarily the best job in their own conference (if you ask tech fans) and they might have competition with Baylor as well if Aranda gets poached. I think Patterson’s time has definitely passed, but what in the hell are you going to do when USC, LSU start a chain reaction that has you competing with potentially MSU, PSU, ISU And more??? Don’t forget Florida might be open as well as the aforementioned Baylor. The bowl season is going to be a shit show.
  7. Lot of folks on Reddit speculating on USC. Not one of the ISU faithful worries about Campbell to USC. They are terrified of Franklin to USC because that likely means Campbell to PSU. I haven’t seen one poster who believes Campbell would stay at ISU over psu.
  8. Thought I was crazy but Twitter is talking about it. He said it to Pam Oliver not Erin andrews. I can’t find a clip of it though.
  9. There is definitely a right and wrong way to exit a franchise and honestly this whole situation could have been avoided even after doc and embiid ran their mouths in the summer. Simmons could have quietly gone to morey and told him that he needs to be traded and preferably before the season. Lay it out like morey looks like a hero because he gets to do a blockbuster trade and Simmons gets out. It appears that Simmons doesn’t even want to go to a winner so there could have been a ton of options. Instead both sides went from zero to eleven so fast that we are all injecting Simmons drama directly into our veins and the two parties that matter in the equation have a 99.99% chance of getting pennies on the dollar for Simmons until he proves he will play hard and play well. The sixers did him dirty after the loss. Simmons did everyone dirty before the loss with his play and then after the loss by not being the bigger man and trying to figure out a diplomatic way out of philly.
  10. Did anyone else see Aaron rodgers’s post game on-field interview???? Am I crazy or did he tell Erin andrews “I love you” and she responded “I love you too” to end their chat???

First mistake was having the media vote. That’s how guys like McGrady get in the hall.

This game was over 2 minutes ago when Danny green started shooting the ball.

Danny green with three straight air balls and they haven’t even been close to touching iron. Shooting Brooklyn into the game haha.
  14. He has been speaking out of both sides of his mouth really. Here is an article from July on him not saying he wants to leave but him saying he’s not committing to the team long term. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.si.com/nba/trailblazers/.amp/news/damian-lillard-on-reports-about-trade-request-its-not-true "I haven't made any firm decision on what my future will be," Lillard said. "There's really no need for anyone else to speak for me." ^here he is saying he hasn’t requested a trade. "We're not winning the championship, but we’ve got a successful organization. We're not a franchise that’s just out here losing every year and getting divided. We have positive seasons; we just don't end up with a championship," Lillard told Haynes. "So I feel like at this point, I basically made the decision that if you do what you’ve always done, you’ll always be where you've always been." ^here he is implying (and maybe I’m reading more into it than I should) they aren’t going to win unless there are roster changes. Dame wants to win and wants to stay in Portland while doing so. But the reality is that he won’t be winning in Portland unless major changes happen and Chauncey being coach isn’t going to get that done. So he’s is likely going to have to make a choice and if they struggle this year to compete my guess is Morey wants to be ready to kick in any door Dame might crack open.
  15. I agree with this and also with @d2o. Looking at the 2022 free agent class you've got Wall, Beal, Harden, Irving, LaVine, and Westbrook. It seems that Beal really loves DC but if you could offload Simmons for expiring deals maybe you can get lucky and take him down in the summer? One thing I think Morey is holding out for is Dame to make some noise this summer. Dame made it pretty clear that he wants to win and win in Portland but there was a hint of "make changes so we can win, or else". The blazers went out and did absolutely zero to change the starting roster and didn't really do much to make a difference on the 2-deep. Dame's contract is up in 2024 but we've seen that 2 years out period be a sweet spot for demanding a trade. Vegas odds have the blazers slotted in the 8 spot, finishing 3rd in their division. They aren't winning shit and are an injury away from playing into the playoffs. If something doesn't break loose here before the trade deadline then this is absolutely the play for Morey.
  16. Morey calling Simmons bluff ans saying he doesn’t care if it takes 4 years to get the right player. He doesn’t want garbage in a trade that just leaves them with an old embiid and no titles. Basically, I might as well waste embiids prime with Simmons on the bench than do it with bad players who won’t get us any closer to a title. Morey isn’t playing for second place it seems. Title or bust.
  17. It sounds like bill self is pretty bullish on KU’s team and a lot of the fans are saying it feels like earlier final 4 teams. I don’t feel that way at all. We have no big man depth and we have a lot of talent that has never played together. We are either going to be great or we are never going to really gel and we’ll bow out of the tourney earlier than what our ranking would suggest. Either way, as a KU sports fan I desperately need the football season to end.
  18. That’s the thing… the more Simmons acts like he is around the team the more the pre-draft questions about his work ethic seem to be true. I know GMs are trying to yank his value with their comments but I feel like the longer Simmons doesn’t participate the more his rumored reputation becomes reality. With that, I wonder what the owners are going to want in the next CBA to prevent this stuff from happening again. It isn’t a major problem but it has the potential to be and this is a hell of a bargaining chip for the owners, especially with the new media money coming in just a year later. The NBPA can’t like the position they are being put in right now between vaccines and trade demands. I’m actually kind of shocked they haven’t stepped in to try and help find solutions for Simmons and philly. I don’t know what they could do but they basically shut Simmons down on the money thing and then have been silent since.
  19. At this point… where do you even send him? OKC? Sac? Minny? Maybe trade fat Zion for him and picks? It’s either going to take an insane contender or a team that desperately needs to change something up or lose a star. Part of me knows that GMs are going to say they don’t want him to yank his value. But another part of me says if Minny doesn’t make a move they’ll be in the same spot with KAT. Same with Zion. OKC is looking at 10+ years of shit but they have FIVE FIRST ROUND PICKS next year. Maybe they get Simmons and SGA and draft everyone with a smidge of potential to try and get another generational player to develop before Simmons is done with his contract? There is also to “if you can get a star go get the star” mentality that keeps teams from waiting to go get someone when the market opens up. I honestly have zero clue where this is going to go unless a major injury happens in the first part of the season.
  20. As if we couldn’t see with our own eyes but apparently Zion was heavier than 300 pounds this offseason. No wonder he has leg issues.
  21. I’m not sure about credible offers but apparently there were 2-3 teams circling in the off-season and morey set the bar too high. When I’m buying a property and someone tells me it costs $5million then shows me a rent roll saying it should only be priced at $3million I usually tell them that I don’t want to offend them with my offer or don’t want to waste either their time or mine. Maybe that is what morey ended up with. Portland calls and says “is he available” more responds “yes. Dame, 6 first round picks, and the rights to your first born daughter.” Then the phone clicks. Fade to black. /fin
  22. At this point morey is going to have to pray for a major injury or an absolutely surprise team to emerge as a contender. Maybe both? chris Paul going down with a season ending ACL then trade him for Simmons. Maybe the suns are first in the west (haha) and are worried about CP being able to come back from injury that late in his career… Short of a miracle to bail morey out. It seems he has overplayed his hand. That being said, I’m sure every GM in the league believes he can “fix” Ben Simmons.
  23. I’m pro-life personally but I think pro-choice is the better route for society. I would absolutely never advocate for abortion but I absolutely see the need or value or desire for it and i understand a persons choice to do anything with their life is not my choice to demand. Do you recommend I only attend pro-life events and shame anyone who has a differing opinion? I personally don’t belief I should put myself or anyone else in that position because it isn’t my prerogative or communal responsibility to advocate one way or the other. I sympathize with both sides of the coin and I will probably stand with the side that I more believe in even if I have to sacrifice. That doesn’t make me an anti-abortionsist it just makes me someone who has my values and is willing to side with them. There is no reason to polarize because of it because I won’t argue for or against my personal belief. It is ok to be agnostic and not antagonistic against either side.
  24. He said he doesn’t believe people should be losing their jobs over the mandates so he is standing in solidarity with them. So I guess that kind of is stating his belief? He said he isn’t anti-vax.
