Colorado Vacation Destinations - Not Quite So Crowded, But Still Cool
Hook1997 replied to Dbeasy's topic in Food and Travel
Surprisingly still a decent amount of people up there, now when I got back to the parking lot like seven cars were left. I got to town checked in and headed straight to the park and was at the gate at exactly six for Bear Lake area access. Any suggestions for a semi short hike this afternoon? Sky Pond tomorrow morning so I don’t want to go too crazy. -

Hiked up to Emerald and Dream Lake yesterday evening. While sitting at Dream lake while it got dark evidently a bear was there right on the trail according to a lady waiting for her husband in the parking lot when I got down. I heard something not human when leaving but didn’t see anything with my headlamp. -

Update the rest later but 5 stars for this suggestion. Perfect quirky place with good wine after a long day. So for everyone else it’s just a door then you down to a basement, evidently it use to be a morgue. Decor is perfect and the Rabbit meatloaf and brussel sprouts were great. -

Yes! Thank you for reminding me about Denver Biscuit. I wanted to eat there last time I was in Denver but didn’t have time. Definitely going to have to checkout that arcade. I figured it would be something chill while I get acclimated to the altitude before I start hiking. -

Almost out of Texas, Colorado Springs tonight and Pikes Peak Train tomorrow. Got the next to the conductor seat that’s supposed to be the best view. Anyone got restaurant recommendations around Colorado Springs? -
Having 40 back surgeries not including other surgeries is not good for your health. He definitely changed wrestling regardless of some bad choices he made and his flaws. RIP Hulkster.

You or anyone else have suggestions for moderate to difficult hikes around Vail and Breckenridge? I think I have my hikes for RMNP figured out, Sky Pond via Glacier Gorge and some smaller ones. I leave next Friday and staying till August 7th. Six days in Estes then three each in Breckenridge and Vail. Then probably doing Manitou Incline and staying there one night. -

Sark always knocks it out of the park when he does press. A parent’s dream with the gpa upgrade, teamwork always emphasized, proven results on the field and off.

After the last few years of recruiting I trust Sark. But… with more kids being able to sign NIL deals while still in school it’s getting a bit worrisome. If they sign early deals can they still flip their commitment? Obviously we aren’t matching the crazy huge deals but not sure how that works with some of the other ones -
Lots of Monday morning quarterbacking going on.. The people that own these camps have probably seen 100’s of flash flood warnings and watches and in the last 40 years and it hasn’t swept away their cabins. After a while you tend to ignore them to a point because it never floods you. No one knows exactly how high a flash flood will get before it happens and this one being in the middle of the night didn’t help. Now a siren alert system definitely would have helped but that’s not on them and to put blame on people that died trying to save people is a bit much.

Saw someone say this on Ojo. Crazy thing is he was 2nd team all district his junior year and didn’t start as a sophomore. He went to the rivals camp and lost 18 out of 22 reps. That’s the crazy part. He’s getting paid off frame and traits and not ability. That’s a ridiculous amount to pay if that’s true.
