  1. Am I the only one that wants to see a picture of Spot at this point?
  2. drizzly.com Make it anonymous if you have to.
  3. Mind sharing the presale code?
  4. Below is from the Victoria House Covid guidelines as of 10/8/21. We will be there in early November. Will update on how it goes. Masks are Required Please be aware that masks are required by the Belize government in all public places and social distancing is also mandatory. Please plan on wearing your mask all the way through the airport, on the flight to the island, and during the transport to the hotel, etc. We suggest you bring a few extra masks just in case. Once you reach Victoria House, masks are required on the property, including at our front desk, walking into the spa or the restaurant/bar, etc. Of course, you can remove your mask once inside the restaurant or bar and seated. You can also forego a mask at the pool or on the beach, as long as you maintain a sufficient distance from anyone not in your family.
  5. My aging father has requested a trip to Taos to relive our younger family days, and see all his grandchildren experience his favorite place on Earth. We always stayed at the Rio Hondo Condos growing up so we will likely do that again for nostalgia purposes, and it's good for our family size of 8 adults and 6 kids. Likely going MLK wkd, which isn't ideal, but hoping not the worst time. My concern is that my Dad obviously can't see the slopes from those condos. On top of that he has pretty limited mobility. He needs his walker or scooter to get around. I haven't been in 25 years. I'm wondering if there's a restaurant or lounge that is handicap accessible where he could set up shop and see the bottom of the slopes. Any thoughts?
  6. Any recent travelers have advice for getting your COVID test required for return? Done on San Pedro or at the airport?
  7. Thanks, and what do y'all think about the return? I'm thinking we'll be fine landing at 1:15 for a 2:10 flight as we can check in online and whatnot. Any unexpected departure procedures/delays with COVID?
  8. Heading down in early November. Trying to book my puddle jumper flight. Our SWA flight is scheduled to land in BZE at 1:15 PM. Puddle jumper options are 1:40 or 2:40. We're not checking bags, but I'm assuming with entry activities we'll need to go with the 2:40. Thoughts on that? Similar for the return. Our flight leaves BZE at 2:10 PM. The puddle jumper lands at either 12:15 or 1:15 PM. Think we'd be ok pushing it a little and doing the 1:15, or do the exit procedures take a bit of time?

  10. +3. I believe it's $100/year when you pay the lump sum.
  11. Can't recommend this stroller/car seat combo enough. I laugh at people carrying heavy ass car seats around. Only downside is that when they grow out of it (around 1 year old), you'll need something new, as opposed to some that grow with your kid. The good thing is there's definitely a secondary market, so you can sell easily if needed Expensive, but worth every single penny IMO. You can find used on facebook marketplace or resale shop, but don't buy a knock-off brand (read an article those haven't been properly tested/certified). https://www.shopdoona.com/products/doona-car-seat-stroller We use this for diaper trash can. It uses regular kitchen trash bags, and works well for us.
  12. What is the best way to shop realistic leases? We need a 2nd car pronto for various reasons, but I'd prefer not to buy in this market. Lease deals I see advertised are for base models and low mileage. Is there a way to "build" a realistic lease on a website, or pretty much have to go to a dealer in person to work it out? I've never leased, so I also welcome any warnings that the lease market is just as bad or worse than buying, etc.
  13. At the recommendation of one of the food deliverers (not really a waitress due to the order at the counter aspect) when contemplating our 2nd round of ordering, we got the glass noodles and an order of karaage to mix/eat together. Was delicious. Will do again.
  14. Somebody doesn't use their signal when changing lanes ☝️
  15. Awesome pics. Definitely fond memories for me. My trek was about 22 years ago near as I can figure. My oldest son is 3. Hopefully I'll get back some day.
  16. Some quick googling says pure aluminum is about $0.89 per pound. So although a cool video, I'm gonna go with no on the "is it worth it".
  17. We stayed at this riad in Marrakech: http://www.riadkniza.com/ It's just inside the walls of Old Medina, so all the old city stuff (souks, historical sites, main square, etc) is very walkable, and it's also easy to leave the walls to check out the "modern" side of things which you'll likely want to do for some dining options. We did the hammam experience on site which was really cool, and they have a nice rooftop. The owner was very nice and served as our guide on a walking tour (not free, but worth it). I would not say he helped much on the haggling front. That was left to us. That can get stressful, but we had fun with the experience for the most part. Last thing I'd say is 7-8 days in Marrakech sounds like a lot to me unless you really are just planning to sit by the pool for a good portion of that, or if you plan on doing a ton of shopping. We were there during Ramadan. I would recommend trying to avoid that. It's weird eating and drinking during the day in front of people that can't. We didn't go anywhere else in Morocco as this was the end of a month on the road (spent mostly in Spain), so I can't help with the other questions.

And of course I just looked back at the flyer, which very clearly states it's Kid Friendly. Ha, my bad. Thanks for the confirmation!

@C-Man Would you say this is typically a kid-friendly event, or recommend a babysitter?

  21. We'll be up there May 16 - 24, which is "Early Season" so the Going to the Sun Road won't be open yet. Not ideal, but it's the timing that works for us. Hoping we'll miss some crowds by being early. I have a 3 year old. Can he do a kid's float trip? We are looking to rent a cabin somewhere between Glacier NP and Bozeman (where we fly out of). Any particular locations come to mind? Would like to relax a bit, but still do some hiking/fishing.
  22. My FIL won the putter in a closest to the pin challenge. I honestly don't think he has ever hit a putt with it, but obviously there are some minor dings visible on the bottom that got there somehow. The putter is currently with my FIL in Garden Oaks, Houston. I'm in Old East Dallas, and he makes frequent trips up here. Thinking $175. He'd probably throw in the Butterfinger tin to sweeten the deal.
