I couldn’t tell you the last time I saw an actual cowboy wear anything but a square toe while working. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen any of those guys wear a roper. They give me shit sometimes for not wearing square toes.
I actually think it’s pretty reasonable. Herman’s twisting in the wind and CDC has been mr buddy boss to him. Throw the guy a bone and help him through NDD1.
At least people can publicly pretend like it’s not true. It is silly to pretend like there wouldn’t be more media and fan speculation surrounding our head coaching position if it was actually vacant. Someone would have to be intentionally obtuse to say something like that. (The kids call it trolling.)
Yes. If we fired Herman right now the speculation and distraction would be through the roof. As of now, we have chuds like FCB saying Herman will be back and ESPN running with it and scrolling it during football games. There’s a massive difference.
Like if we have agreed in principle with a new coach and we are retaining Herman so the new coach can fulfill obligations and allow his prospective assistants to finish their season without unnecessary distraction and speculation.
John Harbaugh has been brought up for a long time here and other schools. I would love that hire but would be curious to see what kind of recruiting staff he puts together.
I say it and am referring to the overall culture of the school and its administration. Im very much hoping that changes with Hartzell, people claim it has, but they also claimed CDC was one of the best hires in the school's history.
I think there is a difference between revisiting UM and executing a contract hes already agreed to in principle. Im not saying for sure thats the case, Im saying its possible it really is done and we are being mind fucked into thinking its not. Bobby Burton isnt saying that.
Im not sure I was wrong. Theres a reasonable chance the UM deal is done in principle. Basically everyone involved in the process is acting like it is. CDC is clearly on the outside of that group. UM himself has acted suspiciously like he is going to coach again, and he refuses to close the door on us publicly despite having every possible opportunity to do so. Thats not talking about "still being in play". Thats talking about the idea that a successful process has already taken place, and to bring it home we will just have to wait for the landscape to change. No one is reporting that, and no one is really discussing that seriously.
