  1. I assume @JohnLocke hates PPP loans too as those reward fiscal irresponsibility as well.
  2. I have a really small fuckaround option - UUUU $7 for this Friday. As of open today it was worth less than 20% of the value I paid for it. Now it's in the money. No idea what's going on but I love it.
  3. Wife and I left the kids with their aunt on Saturday and went to SA overnight to party. We're two weeks after our first Pfizer shot which is like 90% effective after two weeks, and we were comfortable taking our chances since we're both in pretty good shape and exercise frequently, etc. It was awesome. First time we'd been out of the house without the kids in a long time. But my god, you'd have thought Covid was literally over with. La Cantera was a shit show, took me four tries to find somewhere to watch the Texas game while she shopped. Top Golf had a four hour wait. Everything was just slammed. I guess spring break + stimmies + people relaxing on Covid a bit. It was good to see stuff kind of back to normal because I know those retail and travel businesses have been getting hit hard, but damn it was crazy. It won't surprise me at all if we see a bit of a plateau or even some bouncing up and down for a bit until more of the population is vaccinated. Not really a big deal because the metrics that matter (hospitalizations and deaths) are going to stay pointing down. And if we don't see a surge from this weekend peaking up in a week or so, then there's never going to be another one and this shit really is over. We had to find some hipster bars closer to downtown to even find a place to get a drink and a chair to drink it on. Also PSA: Uber is an absolute shit show right now. Cost us $50 to get from La Cantera to downtown-ish. Everything is surge. Driver told us that a lot of drivers still aren't driving but there's huge demand because people are getting out in huge numbers again. Said she was having her best night ever as a driver.
  4. What site did you pull that from? That's cool.
  5. The SA news is claiming there is "buzz" around an LMA to Miami for Avery Bradley and Mo Harkless.
  6. - NIT champs two years straight - undefeated in the postseason for over 700 days - reigning big 12 champs Name a better resume. Extend Shaka for 10 years.
  7. Wow, I've heard of that guy but never seen him. LMAO. The erotic lamb bite aside, people go to restaurants and pay exorbitant money to have some tryhard in sunglasses come sprinkle kosher salt down his sweaty ass forearm onto your meat while he purses his lips and tries to look cool? The fuck?
  8. Me: "that sucks but at least we'll get to see DJM run the offense more" Pop:
  9. The EU in general did a pretty poor job with their vaccine rollout and messaging especially around the AstraZeneca vaccine. They did dumb shit like the Detroit mayor trying to be choosy about their vaccine and they fucked around and found out.
  10. "My conservative viewpoint is underrepresented!" He says, as he enters a thread that has consisted of nothing but complaining about Joe Biden and Anthony Fauci for the past four months Your cover story of "my posting history here is 100% anti-anything the liberals do because there are so many liberals here" would check out if everyone on Surly wasn't already aware that this thread is the CR thread for conservatives who want to talk about politics in a liberal-free safe space. I ain't buyin' it. You know what this thread is.
  11. Naw, today I'm just not interested in engaging with neckbeards who shove as many scrabble words as possible into their sentences to make themselves feel smart. Don't be that guy. Nobody likes that guy.
  12. There is no chance I'm going to read all this. Your shit is cringe enough one or two paragraphs of fedora-wearing mental masturbation at a time.
  13. I agree with the general opinion that the messaging on the pandemic by Biden, and especially Fauci, has not been great. I don't agree with it in this instance. And I'm not saying you supported all the stupid shit that Trump said. What I'm saying is that, despite Trump's messaging being objectively more terrible than Biden's by orders of magnitude, not once did you speak up about it. And you're here with multiple posts parsing through Biden's words like you're an English teacher. What I'm saying is that you seem to only be bothered by poor leadership when it comes from the other side. Which is weird because I've seen some of your other posts and you seem like a pretty smart dude. Also, let me walk back the "your opinion isn't to be taken seriously" to be a little less strong. How about "I wish you (and all of society in general) would be intellectually honest and hold leaders of both parties accountable, regardless of who you voted for". Shit like remaining silent over a year of terrible messaging but parsing individual words from the other side is why we have so many terrible pols on both sides of the fence.
  14. I'm not whatabouting anything. I've criticized Biden and Fauci for their messaging numerous times on this thread. I've said I don't think Fauci is good at his job. You can find it easily with the search function. You'll have to try another one of your talking points with me.
  15. Sure, good point. Not at all. But we're uniquely terrible at it relative to comparable countries.
  16. It's general commentary on the intellectual dishonesty and bold-faced partisan hackery that you and others are displaying on this thread. You've been a member here since April 2018. Incredulity, GRHorn, etc. have been around longer. Over the course of the pandemic, we've sat through our President saying the following things: Throughout the entire course of the pandemic, the entire group of you who parse through and bitch and moan about literal individual words that Biden said has been completely silent. Not a single world about absolutely a constant flow of terrible and misleading statements by POTUS over an entire year. And yet suddenly you're in here parsing the minutia of the grammar of what our current POTUS said. My point is that this sudden great concern for how the POTUS is messaging his Coronavirus response cynical and partisan hackery. It's a joke. Accurate pandemic messaging is not important to you and it never has been, meaning that your opinion isn't to be taken seriously. *** A few excluded, as I've actually seen or had conversations with them that sort of amoeba across party lines and are generally intellectually honest even if we disagree on a lot of things politically or otherwise (Hate, and even Cheese and GR at times).
  17. I'm pretty sure Biden understands that if he promised full stadiums on July 4th and one or multiple pharmas had unexpected supply chain issues that pushed things back a month, there would be a huge group of intellectually dishonest clowns crying about Biden not hitting his promise. Speaking of intellectually dishonest clowns, I'll assume you're not one of them and it was an accident that you avoided the other half of my post, so let me ask again. Remember when we were told the pandemic would be over by Easter? 11 months ago? Can you please link me to your posts complaining about that, since accurate pandemic communication is very important to you? Can any of you titans of intellectual honesty? Same question posed to all of you crying about what Biden said.
  18. I don't think his messaging is perfect, but most rational people would prefer a slight underpromise, perhaps with a bit too much caution, than a carnival barker. Remember when we were told the pandemic would be over by Easter? 11 months ago? Can you please link me to your posts complaining about that, since accurate pandemic communication is very important to you? Can any of you titans of intellectual honesty?
  19. All ya'll parsing literal individual words and getting outraged over implied/perceive sleights are the ones that spent the last four years calling everyone triggered snowflakes, correct?
  20. I know where you're trying to take this, and that's fine, but I don't think I'll engage. We're never going to see eye-to-eye on that, and it's probably a CR discussion anyway.
