  1. That was pre newborn baby which seems like years ago.
  2. What? I have like six posts in this thread and they're all today. And a couple in the Spurs thread. You just think about me a lot.
  3. You didn't update for the bowls because half of them were canceled and you're intellectually dishonest. Either way, I'm glad we had the season, shit show as it may have been. It helped pass the time, and like brothahorn said, it got rid of Herman. The Tech and Bowl games were fun. I will say that this season lacked more than a small handful of memorable games. Outside of Texas games the only one that stands out for me was the first ND/Clemson game. Not sure how much of that is Covid related, and how much has to do with an ever-worsening lack of parity. But I'm glad we had the season. And I'm glad we'll never have another one like it.
  4. Yep, he's going to find the same magic cure for his beer belly that Kawhi found for his quad.
  5. Going for the triple post here. I haven't been following this season closely except the Spurs and a few games here and there. Definitely not the off court stuff. Did Houston even want Kyrie? Or did they straight up say "nah y'all keep Kyrie and give us every other player and pick you have"?
  6. Agreed. Two and a half is probably fair. I'd take it even further and say that Harden is on a different tier too. Kyrie is in his own tier altogether and he is the only player in the league in that tier. Harden is a very positive asset, warts aside. Kyrie isn't.
  7. That's interesting. Why do you think that? Durant and Irving were a one time thing. Have we seen them get other big free agents? I probably get where you're coming from. NY market is attractive, Knicks ain't it and won't ever be, attractive ownership with deep pockets. It's a reasonably not insane prediction but I'd like to see it happen post-KD. It's more about the players - see Miami post Heatles, Lakers post-Kobe, etc. Lots of teams have been where the Nets are today and spent a lot of time wandering the desert a few years later. Things change fast in the NBA.
  8. Wait you guys think that those three are going to stay cohesive and together for six-plus years? I would be a near-infinite amount of money that those three won't all be on the nets in 2027. Literal free money.
  9. Now?? They were already one before Harden got there. They gave up a lot of depth for Harden. 3 ball dominant guys who need the ball to succeed. I don't think they were. But I just looked at the trade. They traded all their young depth and not Kyrie? Yikes. Shit show incoming.
  10. This is why we can't have nice things
  11. Hey look everyone Baba decided it's been long enough since his embarrassing performance on the Covid thread that he'd return to grace us with more hot takes!
  12. "I hate this thread so much that I've posted 47 times in it!"
  13. My understanding is that Boebert ended up going around the detector and carrying whatever she had onto the floor (assuming a swiss pistol that she's probably never loaded herself because manually loading it would mess her nails up and she can't figure out the fast loader).
  14. I took a few out for weekend beer money in my early 20s. I made decent enough money but was an idiot with my finances until I turned 30. Nice Guy explains the process pretty well. You have to show them a bunch of paperwork and give them banking info, to prove that you are employed and getting regular checks. Then you write them a postdated check for your next payday. I never overextended and I'd pull out $100-200 and pay it in a week. But I'd stand in line and listen to conversations, most were in Spanish, and the shit people were in would blow my mind. One guy who had borrowed something like $1000 several months prior and had been paying $200 every two weeks just to keep the loan in good standing. He had to have paid $3,000 on a $1,000 loan and still had a principal of... $1,000. Terrible. Even just to pull $200 out for a week would cost me $50 or so in interest. I stopped doing them once I realized my bank had a paycheck advance function that was basically free once you established a decent financial history (and eventually sucked it up and got ahead of my paychecks). But the people who the payday lenders target don't have that. The people that work there are pretty basic young uneducated minimum-wage type folks who just wanted a paycheck. I don't think they deserve any blame. One of the girls that worked there told me she took loans out herself. These lenders are beyond predatory and they shouldn't exist. It's the second most indefensible industry our corrupt politicians have allowed to happen behind for-profit prisons.
  15. Again, I don't disagree. But if you're going to put metal detectors in congress, you need to do the leg work ahead of time to understand how you can mandate and enforce those metal detectors being required to enter the building. Putting metal detectors in and not foreseeing Republicans doing the most obvious thing in the world and refusing to go through or fucking stepping around them is ridiculous. How was that scenario not accounted for prior? Whoever was in charge of that should have had their ducks in a row and figured out their legal options to enforce it. When they put them in they should have send a memo out that outlined the changes, the legal standing for making the change, and what the consequences for stepping around them would be (ideally arrest). And then actually follow through. If it's completely unenforceable, which it appears to be, then why do it? Congratulations, you've made sure all of the sane congresspeople don't get their Leatherman in while the idiots just walk around the detectors with their pistols. Incompetence. Really great job everyone. A symbolic metal detector that is completely useless, adds no value, and isn't enforceable sounds like something Trump would do. If you do something that sounds like something Trump would do, you are probably not a competent person or organization.
  16. No, but we should be channeling the energy into productive solutions, not empty gestures that create more problems than solutions.
  17. Smoking weed is illegal, which according to your logic and equivocation means you're just as bad as the people who stormed the Capitol.
  18. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't agree more with this. But it was inevitable that a handful of them wouldn't just walk through, and would use it as a publicity stunt. They don't actually give a shit about bringing guns into the chamber, they just want the attention, and we've given it to them.
  19. Yeah I mean I have zero problem with metal detectors in government buildings. I can't go into the Austin courthouse strapped, for good reason. But it's purely a "for show" measure. It's useless to have it in there for congresspeople, and in a situation like last week, the mob isn't going to stop and put their purse through the metal detector. They are attention whoring and the metal detectors enable them to do that. I think the correct response to these morons is to ignore them and blow them off. But I'm not really complaining about the metal detectors, I don't really care. I'm just pointing out that, despite recent events, having a legitimate fear that Lauren Boebert is going to walk into the chamber and shoot Nancy Pelosi is just a bit, um, let's go with unrealistic.
  20. Continuing the trend of finding myself in agreement with b_t an obnoxious number of times recently, he's right. These congresspeople aren't going to bring their nine into the chamber and start shooting libtards in the open on CCTV. Lauren Boebert and the other jackoffs with guns just won two years of almost unlimited grift and brand-building. They are profit-at-all-cost shitheels, like almost every politician, not true believers. Chill out.
  21. I didn't even know Fozz got crowdsourced. That's pretty lame. Some of his takes were stupid but he at least introduced some different opinions that could be good conversation starters. I agree with the no negs in the CR proposal too. But Fozz, your posts under this HillaryFan420 alias have been worthless as shit and low effort.
