  1. my sentiment wasn't that people shouldn't celebrate or acknowledge whatever they want. I'm supportive of they should do what they want, whenever they want. Go for it. However it's turned into you're taking a month, then I'm taking one as well. And so on. And I think that white Americans, especially conservatives are complete snowflakes they get riled up by all of it.
  2. for all intensive purposes, it's a blessing in the skies that a map has many blimps.
  3. There's no doubt that every cabinet official and agency lead have told their staff to never release numbers that are bad for Trump. Unless they want to lose their job.
  4. Honesty, do we really need month long celebrations for anything? I don't care if groups want to hold celebrations or awareness campaigns for themselves or their cause, but come on. I would bet that every month has many causes that claim it as their own, not to mention that every single day has 10 national _____ day proclamations. I also doubt that dc_drano ever referred to June as Pride Month. Everyone refers to June as June.
  5. and his twin brother Deimperial
  6. I imagine that we will soon see guidance from the AG that confronting an ICE agent will be considered a federal felony and will lead to an arrest. and subject to accidental falling down 3 flights of stairs (in a 2 story federal building.)
  7. I didn't watch full video but can you explain the scale in which 60% is calculated from? Would 100% been the full destruction of all planes at each of the bases, and did Ukraine bring that much firepower to those drones to make that possible?
  8. Setting the text content aside, I wouldn’t want to associate myself with someone that sends that much info in a text. honesty I’m on the fence about blocking you on surly for pasting that much crap 😀
  9. I don’t see how operation spider’s web doesn’t significantly disable Russia’s military permanently . Perhaps losing up to a 1/3 of their strategic bombers that can’t be replaced. The Tu-95 has been out of production since ‘93 not to mention its doubtful Russia has the funds to rebuild lost aircraft. Ukraine struck an airbase that’s described as being in eastern Siberia. They could have attacked the Kremlin if they had wanted. Russia will need to be on constant alert now across the country. i hope this attack scared the pentagon in recognizing our need to be prepared for a similar attack. I’m unsure how you fully can’t protect an air base, or whatever target, when drones are now flying many miles with fiber optic control wires.
  10. Alex, I will take people who will soon be pardoned by Greg Abbott for $200.
  11. the source of the problem is that our past and current leaders failed to find a method for the 25 year resident to obtain legal residency
  12. I wouldn't put money on it, but I could see Cornyn defeating Paxton.
  13. If foreign steel will cost another 25% tariff, US Steel can just raise their prices. They have zero incentive to actually produce more steel especially since they will know that tariff could be eliminated at any moment and may potentially never occur. They most likely will have a press conference stating that they have a plan to increase production and hire more, but they won't follow through.
  14. someone like Karoline has no limits. When Trump says something awful or just flat out factually wrong, she will tell you that he didn't say that. Or in case that she wants to repeat it, she will say it's aligned with the American public. I don't expect a WH Press Secretary to ever disagree with a President but she comes across as happy that Trump is cruel to people. And the major news sources will only push back on her so much because they need access to the briefing room and the WH. Not to mention that reporters are not supposed to be opinion writers but rather to ask questions and report back on the answers.
  15. (Bad etiquette for a second response to a post. delete post, ban user) With cameras becoming cheaper and cheaper, and honesty automated drones becoming cheaper and cheaper, intense surveillance will become more common. AI could control the surveillance system, interpret the photos/video and then alert the appropriate folks (police, security or neighborhood watch) when needed. Eventually it will alert SkyNet or Robocop to detain the teenagers hanging out on the dead end street.
  16. If you're not doing anything wrong (as defined by others) you shouldn't mind constant surveillance. We're doing it for your safety and the safety of children! Why are you so opposed to children safety? I've been watching the star wars show, Andor this past week. When they are highlighting the news agencies or politics, it's so apparent which political party is the Empire. Of course, I imagine there is a TexAgs post saying this opposite.
  17. The playbook also is to reply to the reporter something like, you must be from cnn. when a politican fails to answer these simple question especially about laws they want to pass, every reporter should ask why Patrick (or abbot) is refusing is newer a question.
  18. AI + criminals + dementia = print money for those criminals. If you see an older person mentally slipping, it’s critical to remove their access to large sums of money. Fine, let them have a few hundred in cash, or a credit card with a low limit. But if they need more, require someone else sign off. Convincing them to agree and stick to this is the tough part. of course in their dementia/paranoia they feel the person, who is truly trying to help and protect them, is the bad guy.
  19. Margaret’s character was great when she was paired up as Frank as a bad guys of MASH. When they lightened up her character and Frank left, the show wasn’t as good.
  20. Have your AI call my AI to solve this problem, and then tell us what we need to do to make it happen. I've seen a few hypothetical scenarios online where AI agents are organized as virtual company. CEO, CFO all the way down to worker bees. In theory each agent knows its role, and the role of others agents. You can give the overall AI organization a goal(s), and it will start defining how each "person" will work together to achieve that goal. Scary and cool at the same time.
  21. I'm envious. I started my own personal dividend fund a bit later in life but it's a goal of mine that, when I retire, dividends will replace ~10% of my last take home pay. I throw a few bucks into the account every so often, and reinvest all dividends. Outside of the reinvestment, I love when the dividends have a >5% annual increase which usually grows the stock price as well.
  22. My guess is that we will soon see a large dump of hacked data that will include the names and addresses of these ICE seal team 6 types. Which will lead Pam Bondi and Kash Patel go on a manhunt for the person who leaks the info. Obviously, I wouldn't want anyone to take violent action on ICE employees but I wouldn't lose any sleep if they or their families are publicly shamed.
  23. Agree with this 100% I'm not a parent so take my additional advice, or not. I personally worry about the upcoming generations and how they will thrive. If I had kids, I would be pushing them to be curious and learn more about how AI is changing the world. Obviously a 5 year old's exposure shouldn't be the same as a 22 year old. AI is going to increase productivity and eliminate some jobs, so anyone with ambitions to have a comfortable life with money needs to understand how to use it to their advantage. If you were hiring a data analyst today, would you want someone who's resume demonstrates their knowledge on how to crunch numbers, or the person who also knows how to do that but via AI tools? Do you want to hire a VP who can competently manage and plan a division at your company, or a similar VP candidate who has experience deploying AI tools to increase productivity? AI will quickly become an essential skill.
  24. SIAP but important to remember that with some of the pardons, the convicted party had an order to pay restitution to the victims. If they still owe money at the time of the pardon, any remaining amount does not need to be paid. So when Trump is pardoning some of these individuals, the victim doesn't get paid but presumably Trump does. If he really thought the sentence was too harsh or the convict showed true remorse, Trump has the ability to only commute the sentence and allow them to return home immediately. Of course they would still owe the restitution amount. Instead Trump wiped out their conviction, sentence and financial penalties.
  25. The correction isn't helping me understand what is going on here.
