  1. Yeah, this country voted George W Bush into office. Twice. FOX News had been up and running for several years by then, but it didn't have the sway it currently does. Still, by the end of W's run, FOX was much more powerful. I distinctly recall visiting my father in the hospital and my Aunt demanding we watch FOX at all times. She was (and remains) a near-QAnon level MAGA. Trump definitely helped spread some of the bullshit, though.
  2. #1 in the country, #3 in the SEC. We TOLD you the SEC is tough!
  3. There's a subtle distinction you might be missing, fatty. Nobody here thinks everyone they disagree with is a fascist. They just disagree with the fascists.
  4. Small percentage, but statistically significant. Diving into those rubber beads over and over creates an exposure over time that elevates cancer risk. It's not like 10% of goalies are getting lung cancer, though.
  5. My kid played high level select soccer, and spent a lot of time on expensive turf fields around Texas and Oklahoma. The burns he got on his feet THROUGH HIS CLEATS were not insignificant. Not fully 2nd degree, but damn close. Then throw in the research about how many goalies are getting various lung cancers, etc. and you start to question the whole viability of that shit. Maybe for a yard? Not good for a sports field.
  6. This is what many of us thought MIGHT happen long before now, when Trump would actually face a system/adversary that couldn't be bullied. It has taken too long, and the consequences are so far too minimal, but it's a start.
  7. Oh, now we're going all Dickens, are we? I raise you:
  8. Keeping Rob, Ian and Glenn together at this point is an achievement. KK seems the main missing ingredient.
  9. I don't care what media outlets are teasing this info, it's wrong and remarkably careless. FOX, MSNBC, what the fuck ever. Don't do it.
  10. Well, they're not witnesses, so I looked up the federal statute, and you may be right. One aspect: (2)cause or induce any person to— (D) be absent from an official proceeding to which such person has been summoned by legal process; or
  11. Not in Austin, you can't. I'm not aware of what parts of the state have significant variable rate models in place, but in Austin proper you pay the same per kw*hr whether it's noon or midnight.
  12. I'm sorry, but that should be a crime of some sort. It may be. Putting jurors' safety at risk seems incredibly dangerous.
  13. Needs a Starbucks logo.
  14. Yep. I've seen the 'mats 3 times and Westerberg at least twice that, but I never saw Bob.
  15. The Replacements were absolutely unhinged there.

    Way to go, Kenny!
  17. Nope, doesn't ring a bell. I played in a long line of utterly forgettable bands, save maybe one.
  18. I played Emo's once (SXSW), Jelly Club maybe a half dozen times, Backstreet I don't remember, Liberty Lunch once, and Electric Lounge 9 billion times. They have a reunion show coming up soon.
  19. I totally know my wife would dig a giant pair of towers with only one grill cloth.
  20. Man, I went to a ton of shows there. Grab a pitcher on the other side, play some pool (trying not to get hustled) and then head to the stage for the bands. My band even played there once. We were too pop/alt/whatever. Sound was fantastic, though.
  21. A friend posted her HS photo to FB the other day:
  22. Cool. I've dug around a fair amount and have had zero luck finding any reference to a degree.
