  1. Every Texas fan needs to listen to that entire interview. Sark may have flaws in his approach -- every coach does -- but he is absolutely the perfect guy for UT. He is articulate, thoughtful, purposeful and organized. I can't imagine how we would be better positioned going forward with anyone else.
  2. JFC. My posts here notwithstanding, I am an intelligent adult. Test scores would indicate well above 95th percentile. When I was 19 years old I was a barely functioning brain stem taking most of my input from my dick. This guy was digging through everyone's personal data and nobody -- NOBODY (like perhaps the fucking PRESIDENT) -- thought "hey, when I was 19 I couldn't think beyond my next beer or piece of ass, maybe let's hold off on appointing this dude to a position of extreme power?" What a world.
  3. Oh man, Trump is gonna lose it on that one. He wants tariffs AND lower rates and the FED is saying he can't have both (right now at least).
  4. Weird, BC didn't wear helmets back in the day.
  5. Maybe it's two people named "Luckie"? Like "Franklin"?
  6. Right to Privacy, how does it work? What a fucking world.
  7. Here's an artist's rendering of the Enola Gay doing a friendly "Plane Wave" to Hiroshima:
  8. For the very few who don't know this -- A&M Records was founded by Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss.
  9. We ate at Moonshine in downtown Austin last night, so I had the CF Steak. It comes with a chipotle gravy, and the whole thing was pretty damn good. Also, huge. I got the fries, they sucked, so here's a stock photo with mashers:
  10. Now that's a good idea. Thanks.
  11. 63% more cooking area for 80% more cost. I'd be better off buying 2 Smokey Joes for $10 more. We're not huge eaters, I think 5 burgers and a few dogs at a time will be fine.
  12. Business concept: Hobotaxi. Elmo should hire homeless Austinites for $5/hr to help override imminent failures. The vodka might be a problem.
  13. I'm pretty sure I was clear on that.
  14. Holy shit, $700? I'd rather just take everyone to Jeffrey's. I cannot tell you how many propane-flavored dogs I've had off of those.
  15. I used to run into Ced filling up his truck at Dry Creek & 2222, not too far east of where he bit it and died. He was fucking huge. That guy was a beast. Not the best RB we've ever had, but one of the damn good ones.
  16. Ha! My sister used to work as a pianist accompanying vocal students for Julio's brother Franco Iglesias, in his penthouse apt above Lincoln Center. I never connected the dots until I went to meet up with her, used the bathroom and saw a photo of Julio & Franco above the toilet. "Holy shit, this is Julio Iglesias' brother!" 'twas indeed. Vocal coach to the stars, including Placido Domingo.
  17. What a letdown.
  18. I wonder how much fame he cost himself? I'm not trying to belabor the point, but I think he's a better player and equal singer to Gary Clark, Jr., and probably a better songwriter. (I might revisit that last claim.) Gary's an international star who is set for life. Ian . . . well, not. I do remember some of his blistering sets at clubs like Steamboat and Liberty Lunch. Those were crazy days for Austin guitar -- Eric Johnson blowing out eardrums, etc.
  19. Heh. I definitely wasn't aiming "precious" at Ian.
  20. I need a small portable grill to take to a family party near some as yet undefined lake. ~ 10 people, burgers, dogs, etc. I'm happy to cook in stages. I prefer charcoal. Is there any reason to avoid the Weber Smokey Joe 14" charcoal grill? Is there some alternative out there that's better in some way? I mean, it's only $50. It would be a nice complement to our Weber smoker at our empty-nester home, too.
  21. Yeah, I just didn't know if that was a return to form or a one-off.
  22. Any time that douchebag Justin Wells steps in it is good with me. ("Nothing but love, brother.") Did I mention douchebag?
