Your favorite opening track on an album?
That album came out when I was a kid, but I was already halfway into a lifelong obsession with popular music. I had a hand-me-down AM/FM clock radio prior to getting a proper stereo, and when I first heard that track my mind was blown. It really was a different sound than I had ever heard. Said clock radio was basically this:

Live performance videos
I wore this album out when it was released. Howard is still bringing it, it's such a great riff (two of them, actually). It cracks me up that he's still doing the horns with synth patches. Great band, though. Kimmel's show, last night:

Concerts you are attending
My early concert experiences had a heavy dose of April Wine as the opener, and if it wasn't April Wine, it was Max Webster or Shooting Star.

You whippersnappers never experienced the interruptus of your 8-track flipping to the next track in the middle of a song. Grrr.

Soup, Stew, Chili, Gumbo (Cold weather eats)
I'm all over the map. I have an in-law who doesn't eat pork, so I'll do all beef if he's game watching with me. Sometimes I do a mix of ground beef and ground pork, sometimes I do diced chuck or similar, sometimes a mix. I will say: the "no brown" method doesn't always work perfectly, but it's almost always better than browned if you're doing things like chili dogs or Frito pie.

Soup, Stew, Chili, Gumbo (Cold weather eats)
If you're looking for chili with a "gravy" consistency, don't brown the ground beef. I know, it's sacrilegous. Just put everything together in the pot cold and bring to temp. The meat will break down better.

For a 70s AOR FM radio vibe, I submit "More Than A Feeling" by Boston, even though y'all are tired of hearing it.

Will UT Bend the Knee?
I was in both. Young Life at our church was pretty mild, but yeah, the FCA bullshit got old fast, and so I quit. My favorite feature of the "Turning Point Everywhere" movement is the blatant hypocrisy. They see it, they just don't care. They never did.

Brain fart. That was the first LP I purchased, but I forgot that my parents got me this for Christmas when I was ~ 5 years old, because I had a crush on Karen Carpenter. I didn't have a record player, though, so Dad taught me how to use their big console in the living room:

The Drums Pron Thread
They are convolution reverb patches derived from the M7. I just use them within Reaverb in Reaper, the "processing" is already done. I haven't used the Seventh Heaven, though.

I have a full set of Bricasti M7 convolution reverb samples. It's about all anyone should ever need.

Racist Magat in NYC denies using racial slur...after being caught on video
While I think it's hilarious that stassney is defending this racist piece of trash, what I really find interesting is that people don't seem to understand that one of the first rules of customer service is "don't escalate". If a customer is being specifically ugly, say "I'm sorry, but you need to leave, and if you won't, I will call the police". That's it. You never drop to their level. If you do, you're fired, racist or not.

Fried Chicken
My wife and I went to T22 the day before Thanksgiving for lunch. I got some tenders "hot". I'm not a heat freak, not by a long shot, but next time I'm going "Mo Hot", and bone-in.
