Yeah, the two bands my wife and I wanted to see were The Strokes (wife) and Wet Leg (me). Once Sabrina C was announced for Saturday it just became cost prohibitive. I couldn't in good conscience say "hey babe I know we can't really pay for 3-day or even Saturday tix aftermarket, but how about Sunday tix to see the band I want to see?" So we drove all over west Texas for comped tix for The Strokes. Eh. Terlingua was cool.
  2. The answer isn't "yes", it's "hell yes".
  3. I'm not boycotting him. I'll spin some Whiskeytown or "Gold" now and again. The songs are great, and I already bought the product.
  4. That's not exactly a feat of prognostication, as the World Trade Center had already been bombed in 1993.
  5. Arch & Quinn are so different that trying to compare them is practically folly. Arch is slow on his reads, doesn't check down well, and has relatively poor touch and accuracy in the short game. He also has an instinct to step up and stand tall in the pocket, and is tough enough to take big hits. Quinn was much quicker in his reads and check downs, had fantastic touch and accuracy and the short game, but he self sacked over and over again. He was worse on the deep throws than Arch, but neither has shown themselves to be great in that regard. Arch has wheels, Quinn had snowshoes. That might be the biggest differentiator. At least one dude can manufacture yards. I guess I'll take Arch, given that there might be some upside to come.
  6. lulz. So he needs to be incredible AND avoid the stupid failures of his teammates? How about we blame his teammates for not being able to catch the fucking football? Good lord.
  7. It's really sad because the US literally has dozens of world-class institutions. Those aren't easy to develop. That number will plummet. I know you're deeply embedded, and I'm sorry you're having to see this play out. My UT graduate work is bulletproof, I'm not that far from retirement, but my two Longhorn kids are going to suffer with this watering down of our university. I don't really know what to tell them.
  8. I think back to that late play with an empty backfield and UF showed possible blitz, left and right. Left guy got there at the speed of light. I'm not sure what the right change of play would have been, but that was pretty sad.
  9. I've mentioned it before, but he was at Hole In The Wall one night when my shitty band was playing. He kept yelling for us to play "Freebird". I finally took off my guitar and said "you come play it, motherfucker". He passed. He's a talent but he's an asshole. The idea of him getting pissed about people requesting Bryan Adams songs is laughable in light of my experience.
  10. Yeah, but 6X of shit is . . . maybe not shit, but maybe don't work for a startup.
  11. Look up the difference between ordinal and cardinal rankings and then get back to me.
  12. Not surprised that you didn't understand the question. You keep being your stupid self.
  13. I'm not saying he doesn't hold the ball too long, but bullshit emotional takes like "20 sec" are content-free non-adders. I'm curious -- what is the hold time for (say) the #60 QB on that metric? If there are 40 guys clustered within a few tenths of a sec of 3.1 sec then are we really talking about a big difference?
  14. What good does this type of argument serve? Caldwell took 4 sec to initiate his throw (0:36 -> 0:32). On the very next play, Arch had to scramble left and still threw the ball within 5 sec of the snap (0:26 -> 0:21). OL was losing its block as Caldwell threw (4 sec). OL was losing its block 3 sec into the play for Arch, so he scrambled left but couldn't complete for the TD (and notably was almost intercepted, no doubt).
  15. I am doing nothing of the sort. He may not get any better, but if you think he's anything but a starter with 1/2 season of experience, then I don't know what to tell you. I mean, he actually played better against UF than he did against SJSU and UTEP, so right there that might tell you there is something clicking. Maybe it isn't. I don't know, and neither do you. Beyond that, what's your fucking solution? Maybe stop reading recruiting reports.
  16. God damn the stupid. I say he didn't suck and your retort is "so you think he's GOOD"? That's binary. Grow up, and stop fucking up this board.
  17. 10 years over their heads? Wow! Five of those starts are in 2025, two were against air last year. You cannot say with anything close to certainty that he will not progress to be a quality D1 QB. What are the alternatives? Caldwell, maybe, we don't know what he actually has going for him, and he's gone anyway. That's a waste of 7 games. Lacey? Maybe, but he'll most likely struggle too. Owens? LMAO. Sark needs to unfuck Arch by tailoring the offense better. What the fuck is up with your binary reasoning? Holy shit you're worse than my wife, and by a long shot.
  18. Good news: I always know that when we disagree, I'm right.
  19. Stupid take. He's a rookie in terms of live fire, and particularly so against decent competition.
  20. I make 6X what she makes.
  21. Manning is not dog shit. He may not work his way into being a high draft pick, but he looks and plays like what he is -- an inexperienced QB with skill but for whom the game is too fast right now.
  22. He's responsible for three of my favorite album titles: "The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get", "Got Any Gum?" and "You Bought It, You Name It".
  23. It helps that he sobered up 30 years ago. But yes, he is a monster. Funny as hell, too. Fun fact: he attended Kent State for a while, and was right there when the shootings happened. Fuck it, I'm posting this because:
  24. So averaged out, 3.5-3.6 or so.
