Mullin. In general it's a pretty scrappy area without much high fence. But they've been there all year.

College Football in 2020 in danger?
I'm guessing its a coin flip this scenario plays out. But you know what the B12 did that the B1G did not? Gave itself time to see what actually happens this next month.

What is Space City Weather's business model? Website revenue? Reliant $? Is it a project for visibility to get industry consulting gigs?

I dont understand why I10 from Houston to SA isn't just six lanes each way. The ROW is there and its straight as an arrow.

2020 Hurricane Season w/ special guest Covid-19
Hopefully it stays right at the border. But if Laura ends up nailing Houston and they don't shift guidance until late tonight and people feel like they only thought they were truly in danger for one day - people are going to be hurt and upset. OTOH most people I know down there are vets of Ike and leaving today.

Running thread of the disaster that is the new school year
My kids are RRISD. First real week. Grades 3 and 5. It's fine? An hour to start day of "synchronous" (google meetup or zoom). They post 3-5 individual assignments to complete during the day. Plus another hour later of "synchronous" small group with the teacher. Not too had. My kids are already doing this 90% without my input. Only needed me to upload proof of completing some art project.

Little cabin "treehouse"
Prefab steel deer stand thing to go around tree without nailing it. 4x4s. A pain to put up around the tree. Probably could have just titled up if it was in the field.

First day done RRISD. Meh. Not great, nit a disaster. Like my family's unofficial motto: we shall muddle through.

College Football in 2020 in danger?
I don't really thing CFB is a problem. It's the college kids returning to campus who aren't sorry for partying that will spread it around. That's going to happen even if 100% classes are online. Players will get sick simply because they'll be in the same dorms/apartments and chasing the same coeds. The incremental risk for sports seems tiny in comparison. I'd be shocked if there ended up being a single case documented of some DL breathing covid into an OL's face.

Austin City Government - Circus of the Insane
re: CodeNext - I wonder if Trump's pivot to NIMBY helps the pro-CodeNext YIMBY people and paints that Pool, Alter, Tovo and Kitchen quartet as the racist hypocrites we all know they probably are.

I think this is my old friend from last year: Checking out the bird water thing we set up to prevent coons from messing it up. (Further modifications have become necessary)

AISD's (and other districts) Plans for Schools Starting August 18
My wife teaches AISD and kids are RRISD (online to start). We are about to see few million guinea pigs as schools around the country open. And I am glad we are not those experiments. Hoping it all turns out for the best, but kinda expecting it wont be.
