  1. When I was 12, a golf pro-am - the Amana VIP (any olds remember that one?) in 1982, the newly-minted Masters champ, Craig Stadler, hit an errant tee shot way into a grove of trees into a deserted area without any gallery ropes. My Mom and I were cutting through that area as a shortcut, and stopped to watch his him try to hit some kind of heroic swooping cut shot first under a branch, then over a grove of trees. Right in his backswing, my clueless Mom blurted out, "Heyyy, is that Craig Stadler??" He flubbed his shot and glared at my Mom, and I was equally embarrassed so all I could do was mutter a "sorry Mr Stadler"
  2. Jeez, just when I'm feeling old at 48, I see a 68-yr old go around in -6 and a 78-yr old go around in -4. Granted, a par-3 course, but getting 2s on the scorecard ain't no piece of cake.
  3. Yeah. It was dangerous 25 years ago, and quite a bit worse now with lots more traffic. Every time I hear about an accident on it I cringe because of all the people I know who drive it twice a day.
  4. Is that Tom Herman standing just behind you?
  5. But talking about long flights... I was once on a super-budget airline Air Asia flight from Kuala Lumpur to London. 16 hours, cramped seating, middle seat, & very few amenities. I'm just glad I pre-selected and paid for a meal when I booked, because those who didn't were SOL.
  6. Back in the early 2000s there was a scheduled Delta flight from Austin to San Antonio that I ended up on because I was on a trip to Salt Lake City. I could have sworn it was less than 17 minutes. But in any case it was quite the short hop.
  7. Oh there won't be any money. But when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness. So I got that going for me... which is nice.
  8. Ah, the heady days of Sputnik and Yuri Gagarin!
  9. Whoa, yeah, that's a long one. Have always been intrigued by ultra long flights. That route makes sense.
  10. Hm. Not seeing that option for my property? Just N/A for the 2018 values, and no other buttons or choices for more information...
  11. I agree with you, Chet. I can see how someone would think it is the NEC of Burnet & Koenig because that pic shows a 7-11, and there is one there now too. But what gives it away is the terrain/hillside on the far right of this pic. Nothing like that ever existed at Burnet & Koenig - the land slopes the other way.
