  1. No. That’s much harder to type out in teenage font. Hows that? I’ve advocated for safe storage laws for years. You know, one of the ideas that actually saves lives, but is rarely mentioned because it doesn’t really make for a great politico soundbite.
  2. This high pressure heatwave is terrible. Fucking gun culture is getting out hand here.
  3. What spec did you end up with? I hired a kid the other day. Fucker shows up to the office in a newish 250KR. Funny it was spec’d just like one of our C-Suites, but newer. Oh to not have 3 529’s.
  4. Well, I guess I do better than the 10’s to hundreds of thousands that can’t figure out rent? So this goes back to trading minor inconveniences as to not live next to low paid, low skilled workers. Ok.
  5. No one is arguing that. We have lots and lots of people who don’t draw much water, but like to live in one of if not the “trendiest” cities in America. People not being able to afford what they want is not new.
  6. I agree. But you’re choosing to live there. I’d fucking love to live in River Oaks, right down Chevy Chase. But I’m a few million a year short for that. So I don’t get to.
  7. Because people understand that wanting to live in a very expensive city may not be in the cards for someone who’s “worth” is $10/hr. It’s the reason commutes and shithole parts of cities exist. There is nothing to be alarmed about. Roommates still exist. Colleges still exist. Get a roommate or an education and your inability to afford Austin disappears.
  8. If you’re asking if I’d rather live around $7 hour employees or spend an extra 15 mins in a grocery line, I believe that’s a pretty easy answer. “Making it out the hood” isn’t a thing/saying for no reason. I don’t understand your police example. Police are largely paid well enough to live in their general area. Teachers maybe a better example, but if you paid them enough to live in any given locale, you’d have gobs of more qualified people replacing them in short order in the desirable areas The problem is we have too many people who are only qualified to do work that teenagers can also accomplish. It’s hard to plan for someone whose 30 and doesn’t have any discernible skills worth paying more than $15 hr.
  9. There are no servers in SF, or NYC?Funny thing, I remember eating and bars being tended every time I’ve been. What are y’all doing with all the empty restaurants and hotels? Rent is only worth what someone will pay. Sorry not sorry, but flipping a burger is apparently worth $12 an hour in Austin. I’m looking for the joke everyone loves when O&G is hurting. Oh yeah, learn to code?
  10. Sorry friend. Every problem isn’t “gun culture”. But thank you for playing.
  11. The same people that do it in other expensive cities? Somehow it just works there, but not Austin?
  12. If you try hard enough, you can have a time there…
  13. Also finding it difficult to believe anyone making minimum wage HAS to live in the trendiest city in US. I bet I can find an apt in Beaumont you can afford on your minimum wage. Plenty of minimum wage gigs, too.
  14. Damn I’ve been meaning to buy one of these to wear around deer camp when the inevitable happens. Nothing like a constant reminder your school still owes some loser 50M+ in buyout, plus new staff $$.
  15. 8k seems crazy high. Pick out out of junkyard, have someone put in one one weekend. Think I paid $1800 for last one that went out on me. I took it out, had someone rebuild it, and I threw it back in the following week. Was out maybe 2k total and a day and half of time. I do have a 6L80e that could use some love. Monitoring thread to see if @tx 3 putt drops a good shop in Mexican side of town.
  16. And that’s fine. Maybe a bad example. Every president has a similar photo going back 10 of them.
  17. Saw 6.7 owners have an option to replace the CP4 grenades now. Watched an install vid on youtube. Looks like a nice unit, would be nice if Ford will incorporate at some point.
  18. I've got an old one from when they first started selling them, and it's smoother operating than any other I've held/friends have. Most are really stiff. Going back on memory, I've got ~9k shells thru it before I was able to jump up a few classes. This particular one would be solid for a gun several times it's cost. Even had decent wood, until someone shot me and fucked the stock all up in the process. Correct. You can add about a pound of lead into the butt and somewhat keep a semblance of balance. But yeah, they like to pop you. While they are not close to the same thing as the academy deal, Yildiz makes some very high end shotguns. READ: this is not what you are seeing at academy. But they do know how to build a quality shotgun, on the higher end. Gunbroker usually has some of their high end stuff.
  19. No, I said as long as there are people like that (even on this thread) then there needs to be an equal force pushing back. For every Feinstein and SJL gun bill, I’d prefer and donate towards 1000 lawyers fighting them at even the slightest move.
  20. Who knows. I was just an example from the thread. Maybe it’s not a bad idea. We can bring drillings back in style.
