  1. Right at the 4:00 mark - https://twitter.com/BUFootball/status/1193687281434910721
  2. If I was the ref I wouldn't have overturned, at least based on the angles the TV was providing. However, he was 100% out. My wife showed me a one of those short videos their (Baylor) Social Media teams puts together for games, and they had a shot of Duggan from the endzone up the line from like 15 yards away and there's no question about half of his foot is out of bounds. It was surprising seeing it because he's so obviously out, I couldn't figure out how there wasn't a better shot of it on the broadcast. TCU is a terrible matchup for Baylor because the one thing Patterson gives up, the deep ball, is the one thing Brewer absolutely sucks ass at. He was bad for long stretches of that game and got outplayed by Duggan.
  3. OU - they continue to be good Gap Baylor - huge game for them this week. TCU slapped them around last year with a 3rd string QB. They win in Ft. Worth I’ll take them seriously against OU. A win would also make them a virtual lock for the title game. No one on that team has ever played a college game that really matters, and I think it shows up with a loss to a good but not great TCU team. ISU - they are an offensive line away from being a top 10 team this year. Still damn good, I underrated them in September OSU - losing Wallace knocks them down a spot for me Kstate - it took that staff 6 games, but they appear to have gotten a foothold on Big XII teams. They absolutely undressed Kansas. TCU - who the fuck knows. Athletic as hell, seems like they want to suck texas - no idea what to think of this team. Could win out. Could win one more game. Won’t know until we see the defense Saturday. Gap WVU - who Kansas - fucking Tech - cares
  4. Hard pressed to see anyone other than Baylor and OU. Baylor head to head wins over 3 of the 4 teams with 2 losses currently. Unless they lose 3 of the next 4 ( possible, but pretty unlikely ), the only team that would have a chance would be Texas if they won out.
  5. I think my confusion regarding the Big XII stems from a simple fact: I can't fathom what the stats and standings say and view Baylor as a legitimate borderline Top ~12 team, because it just seems too absurd. But if you stipulate that fact, all of a sudden a lot of conference muddle makes way way more sense. K-State doesn't suck because Baylor whipped them by 3 scores, Baylor is just a great team and KState was adjusting to a new coach. OSU does not, in fact, suck ass because Baylor ran away with it in the 4th. ISU is not a shit team because OSU beat them at home and Baylor ass whipped them for 55 minutes in their game, they are just a really good team that hung in but ultimately lost to a borderline great team. So, stipulating that ..... OU - Their EPA rankings were still really good from yesterday. They just aren't in that top tier of Alabama / Ohio State / LSU. Me putting Baylor in this group has more to do with my reluctant admittance Baylor might just be a legit great team. Baylor - Fuck 'em, but Rhule can coach. Gap OSU - I think they have the highest variance of any team in the conference because of Sanders. Could absolutely beat OU, could absolutely get housed by TCU. ISU - OLine issues reared their heads yesterday. KState - Farmageddon is gonna be fucking lit. Can't wait for that game. Great win by them yesterday, and their staff put together just an absolute jewel of a gameplan. TCU - I mean I think they suck, just not as much as the next team. Texas - We're through the looking glass, the defense is absolute ass and won't get better this season barring major injury recovery. Gap Tech - The single worst "what the fuck just happened?" moment since Baylor lost to UNLV in /'99 when they fucked up the kneel down and gave up a 99 yard TD return to lose the game. This team is punchy and people like them, but they just don't have the horses yet. WVU Kansas - They still suck major ass, but they aren't an abomination. Damn, this conference is really really good top to bottom.
  6. OU gap Baylor ISU Texas gap Tech Kstate OSU gap WVU TCU Kansas
  7. OU - they are good Gap Texas - the defense isn't the problem at the moment. Graduations + injuries, they'll get it right. I don't understand the offensive struggles. Best OL in the conference, great skill guys, and then just seems like it can't get it all together. ISU - Seems like it takes them 4 or 5 games for them to get right, they are pulling it together now. I still really distrust their OL and their skill positions aren't good, but they have the best defensive front in the league. Baylor - They just lost their best defensive player for the reason w/ the LB, they are down their best OL, and their QB is banged up. They have a really good starting 22 and some elite pieces, but the depth isn't there at all. There's a chance they could sneak in to the title game, but Texas and ISU seem like better overall rosters. Gap Tech - Their coaching staff is the real deal. No idea if they can recruit, but I loved their game plan against Baylor yesterday. OSU - They are a year away. Elite offense, terrihorribad defense. Would be surprised if they don't beat Baylor on Saturday. KSU - Solid all around, much more dangerous in Manhattan than on the road. Underwhelming athletically. TCU - No QB Gap WVU - Meh Gap Kansas - oh no
  8. OU Gap Texas Baylor Gap ISU Gap OSU KState Tech Gap TCU WVU Gap KU I can't figure out what to do with Texas. Right now I think injuries are keeping them from the top tier, but by November they should be much healthier.
  9. This is a very fair critique and I think I agree with you, rather than my initial statement. Mentally I default to the Big XII being "down" if there isn't a serious contest for the title game, as this year it really does feel like it's gonna be UT / OU and I'd be pretty surprised if someone else even made it a contest in mid-November. Add in the fact that are 3 teams that I would be shocked if they won a league game against anyone other than themselves, and it just feels like a weird season. But that's just a naive assumption, and looking at the league top to bottom, there is a glut of teams that could realistically be ranked between 15 ~ 35 by November, to go along with 2 top 10 teams. That's a damn good conference, not matter how bad the bottom rung is.
  10. Agree w/ all of this. Great analysis. It's a down year for the Big XII. The conference has always had at least one god awful embarrassment of a team at the bottom, but I can't remember a time when there were so many bad teams just above the dregs. WVU and Tech are just bad teams. Next week has two big games w/ Baylor @ KSU and TCU @ ISU. Is ISU an upper middle class team, or are they a 6-6 team? Did TCU actually get right against Kansas or was it just Kansas? K State got worked, but they aren't a bad team, just a team that should be "receiving votes" not ranked.Just how good is Baylor?
  11. No idea what to think of Baylor. They outplayed ISU pretty dramatically for 50 minutes of that game, and still needed a last second FG to win by 2. Is Baylor a top 20 team? Or are they a "receiving votes" type team and ISU is gonna struggle to make a bowl game? I'm leaning towards the latter. ISU was only in that game due to throwing jump balls to another 6'7'' guy.
  12. Brewer isn't that talented, but the dude is just a gamer.
  13. Unfucking believable. Cyclones gonna take the lead!
  14. Incredible. ISU is gonna get completely outplayed all game and luck into a win.
  15. ISU is gonna win this game.
  16. This new offense, where Purdy just throws it up to his 6'7'' guys every single play, is way more effective than what they have been doing.
  17. That's the pass Purdy HAS to make. Has a man on the rail with two steps and cant get him the ball in stride so the CB catches up and breaks up the pass.
  18. This is embarrassing for Purdy.
  19. Purdy just got fucking smoked. Holy shit
  20. Montgomery covered up so many sins for that OL.
  21. I really like Campbell, but I don't understand why they aren't try to go over the top against Baylor. Baylor is really only rushing two guys as their NT is a two-gapper that isn't trying to do anything other than control the A-Gaps. Why not stretch it vertically?
  22. For me it's more a fear that there is something I should be doing that I'm not. My granddad served in the Navy during WWII and after for 20 years, so by the time I rode with him he piloted a small boat like he was sleeping. He would also complain constantly about people that didn't know what they were doing, but I never actually understood what they were doing wrong, just that they were clearly fucking up.
