  1. You may not be able to get onsite, but you never know unless you ask. I recommend the boundary trail at Buffalo Trail Scout Ranch. Call Buffalo Trail Council and see if they'll let you on site. There's no one there right now except a Ranger that lives onsite and won't be until Winter Camp between Xmas and New Year's Eve. Buffalo Trail
  2. I can't get my head around the idea that the Seminoles would be punished because their starting quarterback is out for the season. He's a critical component of the season, but not the only one. If FSU goes undefeated they are in. I have two obvious complaints about the beauty pageant between Texas and Alabama, and Texas and Oregon. First, beating Georgia, the strength of schedule, or whatever criteria you want to judge Alabama upon takes a backseat to the ultimate criteria. Head to head. Beating a clearly overrated Georgia team on a neutral field does not erase that ass-kicking you took in Tuscaloosa. Period. Case closed. I'm in the minority I presume because I want Bama to beat Georgia. I doubt the NCAA committee will include the Tide, without the Big 12 Champ, Texas. Second, Oregon and Texas can each argue that their team only has one loss or that the PAC 12 schedule is tougher than the Big 12's. Screw the notion that one has looked better in the process too. There was a single common opponent. Texas throttled Texas Tech. Oregon did not. Arguing about the timing or location of the games is moot. Oregon played Tech in only their second game. Meanwhile, Texas faced Tech in the Red Raiders' 12th game. Which Red Raider team was more prepared and more motivated? Oregon played them in Lubbock. What's home-field advantage worth? Seven points? 14? That's a plus 15 (7) or 22 (14) points for Oregon (@+8). In contrast, Texas (@+50) is a plus 43 (-7) or a plus 36 (-14) if you give the Longhorns 7 or 14 points for home-field advantage. Count home-field advantage at DKR as a 21-point advantage for Texas? That's still a +29 for Texas. Still more impressive than Oregon, and Oregon doesn't reach +29 unless you believe that Lubbock was a 21-point home-field advantage when the Ducks played Texas Tech. FYI, Texas has lost in Lubbock 11 times since 1934 with an average loss margin of 7.8 pts. Tech has only covered 21 points once against Texas (1994).
  3. towards or near home plate? @Wulaw Horn I kid
  4. He’s got a weird way of showing it
  5. Suzanne Shepard The Mobster’s Mother in Law “Where were you?!” “Mah!”
  6. I'm still trying to figure out why Jeep thinks I give a shit whether Derek Jeter gets home.
  7. I thought Teddy Bruschi was going to stroke out over this argument. He's ready to die on the "no rookie QB for MVP" hill.
  8. While you're at it, let them know there are two halves to a football game. You see, the second half comes after halftime and your participation grade drops like fourth-semester Spanish if you don't bother to show up or participate in the second half.
  9. Interesting story by the New York Time podcast "The Run Up," which offers some hope. The People of Clallam County Haven’t Gotten It Wrong Since 1980 "Voters in one part of Washington State have picked the winner in every presidential election from Reagan to Biden. What do they think now?"
  10. Only to get stuffed on 4th and goal from the one-yard line just four plays later?
  11. Thank Christ, their coach is more incompetent than ours
  12. Jason Garrett? Maybe. I think he's closer to Jerry Glanville. I'm waiting on "Stagger Lee."
  13. LMAO at Kansas State "refusing to go away." You can't go away when the officials and your opponent won't let you.
  14. we've left it in the officials' hands. God help us. It's coming.
  15. I mean, you have to laugh to avoid crying at Sarkisian's inability to fundamentally manage a football game. All of the riverboat gambler bullshit and complete lack of understanding when and how putting points on the board - ANY points - are important. It’s indicative of either habitually reckless behavior (unacceptable) or a conscious disregard for potential results (negligence). Neither is remotely close to tolerable.
  16. If I had one wish it would be that we played at a level so that all of these calls or no-calls would be irrelevant. Short of Big12 official calling a forfeit because Smoky is "too loud," or Bevo "attracts flies," no one could touch us, even with all the help.
  17. Can that be "top shelf," when their top shelf alternatives are leaps and bounds better?
  18. If the Titans wish to embrace the shit show that is Bud Adams' abortion, have at it. Bud Adams was The Judge from "The Natural." Any respectable franchise would be shoving themselves away from that history, but Amy Adams Strunk won't - out of pure spite. If the Texans had any brains - and, they don't - they would offer to surreptitiously help UH with legal costs and getting out in front of a TRO against the NFL and Titans in Harris County.
