  1. So I think this could cause more competitiveness in the 10 to 25 ranked games, but I'm still on board with keeping it limited to 6 or 8. 12 just seems to be rewarding mediocrity.
  2. He didn't say anything about likeability, though. He said he seems like a great teacher of football. I think Sark has every skill needed to be a good head coach. He just needs to master the art of in-game coaching/adjustments. All that matters is what happens on that field during those 60 minutes.
  3. This is where I'm at right now. Ewers said he's the even keeled; has the same demeanor whether we're down by 3 touchdowns or up by 3 touchdowns, so I'm hoping last year's trend was a Casey thing.
  4. Cedric Golden doesn't get enough flack for his undermining questions.
  5. Sark: Pearson is doing a great job punting. Will Stone is doing a great job on kickoffs. Sounds like Bert Auburn > Will Stone on FGs.
  6. Anyone else think it's crazy that our front four likely consists of: Sorrell (3 stars), Ojomo (3 stars), Murphy (3 stars), and Oghoufo (3 stars)?
  7. 45-27 We firmly control the game but they get some cheap scores late. Bijan 127 all-purpose yards, 3 tuddies.
  8. I love the thought of giving Taaffe a chance to do something the field for us. He's a natural ball hawk. Quinn probably has flashbacks every time the guy steps on the field.
  9. Y'all, this is koolaid season. Let's get in a better mood.
  10. Equally baffling: why did Jerrin Thompson drive the blocker all the way into the backfield? Why do our players do such weird shit on the field? Just be normal!
  11. I don't get how a kicker could seem good and then immediately not be good once they start kicking at DKR. It's the same shit, just a different place. FFS.
  12. Never forget, Quinn Ewers throws a beautiful ball. It's fuckin' poetry in motion. Ewers.mp4 Ewers 2.mp4
  13. I've noticed a bit of a different approach to these inside sources from the $9.95ers lately. Too often, the sources have been treated like football experts when they're probably just walk-ons or trainers or some shit. Even their "objective observations" (i.e. "Improved quickness off the ball, better job of running to the ball, and the linebackers are doing a better job getting them into the right position.") are judgments. Tell us what happened (i.e. Bijan had a one-handed catch) but I'm not going to trust their judgment calls anymore, if I ever did.
  14. OCs largely coach with other peoples' (the position coaches') players so I think that's where his sweet spot is. He needs to humble himself and go back to being an OC.
  15. They probably sit quietly reading library books while the team is on defense then get angry when the team loses.
  16. Yes, they should. Good point. No more sadboy shit (you know who you are). We're going to play well.
  17. OK, for all the weird mfs who apparently don't follow Texas football very closely. We have 5-star talents at QB, RB, and WR. We are about to rip everyone some brand new assholes. Quit your sad soyboy nonsense and get your ass a cup of this fucking koolaid already. Jesus, y'all need to get laid or something.
  18. The rage reaction was the only appropriate one.
  19. This is the position battle the entire college football world is buzzing about.
  20. They have locations all over Houston. Surely they must realize there's no word that inspires LESS confidence in the quality of Mexican food than "Gringos"? Corny white people don't care though. I believe I'm well-qualified on that subject.
  21. This is pretty scary, actually, and a super-good explanation for why we've been sucking on defense. There's arguably no more important position group on defense to have highly rated players than LB. The difference they can make is astounding. Jordan Hicks is a good example. He had 104 tackles for us in 2014. The most anyone has had for us the previous few years: 2021 - Demarvion Overshown: 74 2020 - Juwan Mitchell: 62 2019 - Joseph Ossai: 90 2018 - Gary Johnson: 90 2017 - Malik Jefferson: 110 2016 - Breckyn Hager: 65 2015 - Jeter Jinkens: 75 Elite LBs make all the difference. We have had a lot of "coach 'em up" position coaches at LB over the years, but not elite recruiters. That has to change.
  22. According to Hudson Standish, sources are worried that EDGE is our biggest weak spot: I hadn't realized how unproven/young we are there. We got: Ovie Oghoufo Prince Dorbah D.J. Harris Jr. Barryn Sorrell J'Mond Tapp Justice Finkley Ethan Burke A lot of people were high on Finkley but I haven't heard much about him lately. More-so Burke. People seem to think it's largely Ovie's job to lose, but aren't exactly raving about him. I suspect we'll see mostly Ovie, Sorrell, and Dorbah w/ a little Finley and Burke thrown in until someone lays claim to the spot. But yeah it feels like a pretty big unknown.
  23. I feel like Ketch, Anwar, Chip, Kirk, and Brian Davis all fall into the same category; highly selfish dudes who will throw the program under the bus at the drop of a hat in order to get attention. I actually like Gerry. His takes are good. IDGAF if he faps.
