  1. One of my favorite things is when people who post non-stop during a workday on this message board hop onto threads to assertively claim that they know the best way to maximize workplace efficiency.
  2. Surprise, surprise: https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2024-06-12/the-fast-food-industry-claims-the-california-minimum-wage-law-is-costing-jobs-its-numbers-are-fake
  3. @PilotsError will NOT tolerate jokes about Mexicans in the MSC
  4. Kudos to aggy for not shooting the Mexicans wearing hats indoors. Have to admit, I'm surprised.
  5. We spent like 3 pages discussing this...
  6. I'd probably already be in jail for attempted murder, but I've always been a bit of a hot head.
  7. You know he's an actual agent based on the lack of Sims games found.
  8. I've only worked as an adult on the West Coast, but my understanding of how "business" is conducted in the south is something like everyone rolls in to the office park in their 4-door, extended cab pickups, talks about the SEC/liberal media for a few hours while either wearing a NASCAR t-shirt or a dri-fit golf shirt, and then heads out early to pickup a 84 ounce sweet tea on their way home to the trailer park/suburban hell-scape. Is that not right?

  10. Likewise, I hope Sark knows the best way to fire up the team before they play Vandy is to hang some pictures of the 1928 scoreboard. Thats why we pay him the big bucks

  15. I think I understand. If something good happens to the economy under his watch, then austerity is to thank. If something bad happens under his watch, its not his fault and any insinuation to the contrary is outrageous.
  16. yes, I too read the news and immediately wonder what the good posters of surly are going to say about it. I also like to make posts declaring that I don't care at all what the posters here think.
  17. No, because the topography of both the coastal regions and the central valley lock in smog and pollution. And by the 1970s, when there scant laws/regulations of any type, the issue had grown so severe that the state began legislating the issue. While the areas are still polluted, the efforts undertaken by the state have made vast improvmenets.
  18. yeah, there's a reason CA has spent the last 50+ years passing legislation intended to fight pollution.
