  1. Remember when Surly was freaking out about Dusty Baker returning for one last hurrah and the possibility of that costing us our manager-in-waiting Joe Espada?
  2. Astros pre-ASB: .583 winning% and a +56 run differential Astros post-ASB: .465 winning% and -42 run differential. This team is in deep trouble.
  3. "all-time scumbag move" is juuuust a bit off the plate. Framber looks like an ass but this is pretty low imo on the "scumbag moves of all-time" list.
  4. noooooooooooo just in time for NFL kickofff
  5. fuck all billionaires, sure, but cmon man this is a ridiculous overreaction.
  6. He's hurt isn't he?
  7. I'm not a manager talk kinda guy but this is just otherworldly idiotic.
  8. He's not the best teacher imo, there are a ton others online who are better at teaching than Beato. He's pretty advanced for the beginner. I recommend Michael Palmisano (GuitarGate) or Molly Miller (Pickup Music), but there are many others who offer really good instruction online.
  9. We have about a month left but one of the more pessimistic tells of this year's team is the lack of a prolonged winning streak like we've seen for the last decade. Our longest winning streak is five gms, which would be the fewest consecutive wins since the 2012 team won five in row. Even the 2013 and 2014 teams had longer winning streaks. Of course they had longer losing streaks as well....
  10. We really need to get the bats hot and get on a dub streak. Next two series opponents are a combined 16-4 over their last 20 gms. And both are hated rivals.
  11. I think there's a very good chance it's tomorrow vs Kikuchi
  12. CHRISTIAN HOMER!!!
  13. Ok generally, but wtf Yordan has had nothing but rest.
  14. NSIAP but there's some interesting stuff here wrt his arm slot and velo and why they haven't brought him back sooner. I think he's ready. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6580422/2025/08/27/luis-garcia-astros-tommy-john-recovery-return/
  15. Outstanding, powerful, and enraging. It brought back some strong memories of that weekend as half the guys in my OG fantasy football league are from New Orleans and had evacuated to Austin for our draft after Katrina made landfall and we were all following the news and checking in on their families elsewhere as we're drinking beers and shit talking each pick. Little did we know what was to come after our draft ended because that was the time the media was reporting that the worst had past and New Orleans was in clean up mode. Fortunately most of them are white and well-off so they were mostly spared the horrors that hit the poor and working class neighborhoods of New Orleans. Fuck Bush, fuck Ray Nagin, fuck Michael Brown and God bless Gen. Russell Honore.
  16. WELCOME BACK MOTHERFUCKERS
  17. sure it does, plus opponent matchup. we generally play well against winning teams at home, it's the shitty ones that give us fits.
  18. nice to see him elevate the ball at that angle
