  1. Let's celebrate a win: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2025/12/29/case-dismissed-carlitos-parias-tiktok-creator-shot/87951244007/#:~:text=Olguin%20dismissed%20the%20case%20with,while%20being%20held%20in%20detention. A federal judge has dismissed the charges against a Los Angeles-based TikTok creator who was accused of assaulting an officer before being shot by a federal agent during an immigration enforcement operation, court records show. U.S. District Judge Fernando M. Olguin dismissed the case with prejudice Dec. 27. That means prosecutors cannot refile the same charges against Parias. The judge cited constitutional violations in his decision, saying Parias was deprived of his access to counsel while being held in detention. Olguin also noted that the government did not comply with discovery deadlines, including the release of body camera footage of the shooting. The footage, which was captured by a camera worn by the officer who shot Parias, was released on Dec. 10, five days after the deadline. "By delaying production of the body camera footage, the government eliminated any possibility for the defense to review the footage with Mr. Parias," Olguin wrote. "And with each passing day, the ability of defense counsel to meet with their client and prepare for trial was further undermined, resulting in even more prejudice to defendant."

  4. Great game, Miami. You're DL is legit. Congratulations.
  5. Deserves repeating: If Russia is surrounded by nations that hate them, maybe Russia is an asshole. They should work on that instead of sending an entire generation of young men into a meat grinder.
  6. "...prolonged oil shock..." Zeihan hyperbole. His prediction that global grain prices has yet to come true, 3 years in.
  7. T's and P's to those of you on Erie:
  8. So they're buying GPU's they can't use yet? I've read Nvidia and similar are working on AI specific chips that'll be more powerful and efficient than the repurposed GPU's of today. Are all those unused GPU's gonna just get ground up for recycling?
  9. Bert v Josh was a good game too. LOTS of chicken wings got ate by those 2 coaches after.
  10. Being woken up by the sound of perculating coffee.
  11. Surly Tailgate?
  12. Fair. But am I allowed to want them all dead? ETA Maybe it's the drugs, but I feel optimistic about 2026.
  13. it's a good start but still an order of magnitude below what we need.
