  1. I sneezed while taking a piss this morning, and not only did I not piss all over my pants, but I manage to keep it all in the bowl. Thats some Buddhist monk shit right there.
  2. Crazy result, but not unexpected. I truly thought Pool would break down our defense, but we were so well organized and the team effort on Def made it so tough, especially without Sallah. I think if he plays and runs at us early, we buckle. Fuck it, he wasn't there and we could've had 3 pts. I say not unexpected because our record against Chelsea, Leicester, Arsenal, and Pool are 2-0-2. All four of those teams attack higher up and allow us to get behind them when they lose possession. Add Wolves as a team that wants to play and there is another draw. United's athletes and skill in the counter attack means that we have a shot against any squad who doesn't sit back. We're terrible against teams that sit back and defend because we don't have the skill in the midfield to break down semi organized D's and Rashford is worthless with his back to goal. Crazy as it sounds, but I think we'll continue to take points from Tottenham and possibly City (baring everyone is healthy). There are good pieces there, just need a real striker/or a 10 and lots of help in the center of the pitch. Fucking Fred, Pereira, and McTomany were are starters. They lacked everything but effort and they somehow bossed Pool. Unreal. Bad thing for Liverpool is teams know how to line up against them now. An organized 5 in the back can stop that attack, though I still want to see it when they have Sallah. He's a machine at going at defenses.
  3. Sounds like where my liver was headed a couple years ago. Prayers hundredTT that you find your bottom or the shock that brings you around to hope. I know it took me getting “the look” of disgust from a friend who thought I was sober during one of my “secret” sprees to know I had one last chance in me to live. I’ve seen your hell and I’ve lived in your mind. I hope you find the fear at the bottom of it while you’re still alive. I also know miracles happen. There’s a room full of light waiting for you when that moment comes. I’ve never seen a man die after he surrenders. Much love.
  4. The Federalist Society. 15 years ago they were laughed at by almost everyone for being lunatic fringe righties. Now they're main stream Republicans.
  5. I'd take relegation to get new ownership. Sign me the fuck up.
  6. I got 5 on it. What's crazy is there was a time not long ago that a supporter's group could actually pull something like that off. The way the EPL has taken off worldwide has made it impossible to purchase a big club unless you've got stolen government funds or oil money. Sad really, because we're stuck with the grifting Glazers and their fucking debt. They're gonna suck it dry by the time FC United of Manchester or Salford City FC make it to the Championship.
  7. Yeah, impossible to look away yet impossible to watch. I keep hoping for something positive to come from a young guy, a spark of leadership from Rashford, or a fight from someone trying to save a career or their club, but nada. I don't see a secret plan from Ole taking shape. I don't see anything from him that is inspiring the guys to give an effort for one another. At least guys somewhat played in spite of Mo. I'm assuming ownership is waiting for a beating from Liverpool and take the easy way out of making a decision on Ole, but no better time than an international break if you ask me. Give Carrick the caretaker reigns until you can find someone with a fucking clue of building a club. Put Woodward on the business side of things and fill the sporting directors role with an actual football person. This club is a looooooong way off and the mystique is suffering at the hands of a greedy family full of fucksticks. This is on the Glazers now if the club has a chance at long term survival.
  8. Blow it up, it’s beyond redeemable this season.
  9. 60 mins in, fuck it. Put in Greenwood, Chong, and Gomes for a spark and give the kids experience. Nope, Rojo’s worthless ass comes on for an injured Dalot We’re playing not to be embarrassed, yet we’re already embarrassing.
  10. I miss the days of complaining about Carrick being too slow with the ball in the midfield. The fact that Ashley Young takes most of the set pieces and is the captain shows the lack of quality and black hole of leadership in this squad. We’re fooked
  11. When Fred, Mata, and McTominay are supposed to boss the midfield, you’re fucked. This is going to be a long ugly match...against fucking Newcastle.
  12. Not much to say besides we're not good. I'm losing hope. Here we are. A loss or draw to Newcastle means we don't hit the 5 and Ole is in trouble with the fans. I've seen nothing over the last 4 matches that makes me think United are improving or even working on anything tactically. This season sucks already, but you could always bring in an unhappy Pochettino, buys some guys, and Ed Woodward would get to keep his house from getting stormed. If the turn around or change doesn't come quick, pitchforks are going to be in the streets. Hopefully pointed at a Glazer. Edit. We won't hit the 5pts even with a win, but forfucksake you can't lose to Newcastle and Steve Bruce and expect to keep your job.
  13. This is some good shit right here and I appreciate you sharing. It was certainly one of my main hang ups in not wanting to seek help and change my way of life. I was always insecure and constantly worrying about what others were saying about me. I loved that feeling of sitting back and saying, "ahhhh, it's all good" when I had a drink. I was legitimately a very fun guy to be around drunk, until it the day it turned and I wasn't. The most succinct way I've heard the change that takes place in recovery described is, "AA does for me gradually what alcohol did for me instantaneously". It doesn't happen overnight and for some it takes longer than others, but there is a new level of freedom and ease when I let go and do the work. My give a fuck meter is now calibrated at an entirely different level. As long as I'm taking care of my stuff and trying to do the next right thing, everything else falls into place and the voices of others that used to haunt my thoughts fall silent. The only time I hear them is when I'm not in tune with myself, and that is something within my control. Comfortable in my own skin for the first time. I never dreamed that could happen without booze. It's truly a mindfuck sometimes that I am living this life that I pinch myself and just laugh. Grateful. Happy days. Much love.
  14. That would be the actions of a guy who cares for his reputation, oath, and rule of law. You're talking about Barr. He's lived his life, he's made his money in the private sector. He gives no fucks other than protecting the President.
  15. I sure hope so, but it'll be damn hard to prove that. I don't know the mechanisms of proving that, but I assume it would the courts. Seems like that will take a long time when you have the power of Barr and the DOJ behind the stalling.
  16. So really, the Trump political folks aren't stupid. Wrong and a danger to the country, but the classified server is great place to hide shit. Do you really want to be the Congress to set the precedent of opening up the server for impeachment, which is inherently political? These WH fuckers are sick, but they have used their complete lack of shame and patriotism take advantage of the norms of the past 200+ years to "win" for their guy. It's amazing who much our country has relied on the inherent honesty and nobility of servants who take their oath seriously to maintain what we've held dear since it's founding. Crazy how fragile this whole place truly is and how quickly it can be destroyed by unscrupulous cunts who care nothing about the greater good and the future of a once great nation.
  17. Not much to say besides that being the worst United squad I've ever seen take the field, and a miserable match to watch. As soon as I heard the pitch was wet due to rain I knew it was over. We couldn't build up the attack through the midfield against a fucking MLS squad. This team can counter attack at speed and that is it. Nothing to lose now because it obvious how to stop us. Every very manager worth a shit will sit back and watch us monkey fuck the ball around until we give it away. A looooong way to go in talent. Might as well see which youngsters are up to it and give them some experience. I am no longer watching this team believing in a top 4, just watching for improvement of the kids and cohesiveness in the back. This season is for next year.
  18. Avatar checks out. I'll never forget driving into the office one morning and hearing on the radio that celebrity "X" was 68 years old that day and a fully functioning alcoholic. I thought to myself, hell yeah, thats going to be me. It actually made me feel kind of badass knowing that it is possible and I would be that guy who was so smart and brilliant that folks wouldn't mind me being "half drunk"/drunk all the time. That lasted about a year and I could no longer do my job effectively and people grew sad for me. It sucked, but those consequences led me to take a look at myself and realize I had to find a different way of life. Only you can know if you're an alcoholic or not. Once you know, only you can decide if you want to surrender to help or keep trucking along praying the wheels don't fall off. Some folks do make it through life somehow and they've got all the luck. Most don't, or they "live" a miserable existence of constant worry. I've found it truly is a series of choices we make and circumstances we live in. Much love. Godspeed.
  19. I'm not going to derail this thread further after this, but I think you're smart enough to know that Ryan and the WH crafted that particular budget. The 60 and 80 percent you're looking at is compromised of people knowing they can't be the cause of a government shutdown right before a midterm election, there's no use fighting a huge majority to take a losing stand, and Trump appeared a lot more powerful during that time period. You hold your nose, vote yes, and avoid a catastrophe of gridlock. The D's didn't make that budget and you know it. As a good member of congress, sometimes you have to take the loss and move on. If both sides fought like the petulant "Freedom/Tea/Whatever" caucus, nothing would get done.
  20. Yeah, its amazing watching Chelsea's young talent perform and not seeing anything yet from Greenwood, Chong, and company yet. I have a feeling they will soon be thrown to the fire. They played well against PSG last year and I have faith, just don't know yet if they can pull it off. Arsenal looks like they can't defend so I'm not as worried about them, but top 4 will take everything falling into it's perfect place.
  21. Agreed and I think all English fans will agree with you. Though the most important thing this year is qualifying for the CL no matter how it gets done, top 4 over the course of a season is much more difficult and shows consistency. Need those Champions $$$ and something to recruit talent on for next season because we need a lot of help. We have two players that top clubs would want as a starter, Pogba and Rashford. This is United, there should be at least 6-8 core world class players on the pitch at all times.
  22. Didn't get to watch the Leicester match due to the brilliance of NBC bringing us that boring Spurs/Palace match. Oh well, watching Citeh get worked by Norwich made up for it. We won as expected because we played a good team at home. This week is when it shows how thin our squad truly is after playing in Europe on Thursday night. Did you see the bench on Saturday? Fuuuuuck, not good. The UEFA Cup is the only reason to have thought about keeping Lukaku and Alexi, but thank God they're gone. Better off without the cancer. I still don't know if you try and make a run in the Cup to get Champions League, ala Mo, or go for fourth in the league. I know as a fan I'd prefer to see us in the top 4 where the club belongs, but the start of this season makes me think about taking the Cup seriously. It really comes down to if we lose/draw away to West Ham like I think we will. If we keep dropping points to not very good teams, a top four is going to be very difficult, go for the win. Problem for Ole is I don't think he will get the time Mo did if he isn't winning the games he should against lesser opponents in the league. It's important time to put some wins together. There are points for the taking with WH on the road, Arsenal Home, and Newcastle away. Should be 9 points, but we shall see. If United get less than 5 out of those matches, Ole is in trouble with the fans because the following match is Pool at home and that could get ugly if confidence ins't high going in. Come on United! Lot to prove.
  23. The thing is, it wasn't bipartisan. The funding increase came from the extra 700 billion in the defense budget from the fiscal year the R's put in when they exploded (pun intended) the deficit and gave a bunch of money to the uber rich and defense contractors. They just had to spend it by the end of June. The true Republican "contract with America" if you will.
