  1. Got nothing on this homeless guy trying to "cook" nachos. Hope they were good for $1MM in damages. High praise to the KEYE content guy on this. The Austin Fire Department has arrested a man accused of setting a downtown Austin historic building on fire while trying to make nachos on Tuesday. AFD said John Daniel Banks, 32, was arrested on Tuesday, March 21 after allegedly setting the Granberry Building, located at 907 Congress Avenue, on fire. This happened just after midnight on Tuesday, March 21 just a few blocks from the State Capitol. According to the arrest affidavit, Banks was staying in the abandoned building without permission. He admitted that he tried to light a bag of chips on fire because he thought it would be a good way to cook nachos. Banks said the bed caught on fire. He tried to put the fire out and left the building. When he returned, there was a fire on the second floor. Fire officials estimated the damages from the fire at about $1 million. https://cbsaustin.com/news/local/austin-man-arrested-for-setting-downtown-historic-building-on-fire-causing-1m-in-damages
  2. They're weak defensively. Atrocious, actually. UConn is the class of the tournament right now. Doesn't mean UConn's going to win it all but it all came together for a gang rape.
  3. Not really. Not even close. Alabama is the closest this tournament has to a pro team. San Diego State just beat that team into submission. FAU is the best-coached team in the tournament and just took care of the mighty SEC and Big 12, in succession. Nothing's a done deal. Again, every game is a game 7 and cruising doesn't exist at this point. Nor on the first day of the tournament.
  4. Clear cut favorite. You'll see it from Vegas in an hour or so once this pillaging of Gonzaga is done. Even money, probably less, to win the title. But the tournament is a game 7 every time out. Off night shooting, someone twists an ankle, whatever. We've seen it. Teams that are clear cut become victims. And it's the beauty of the event and why it's the greatest that sport has to offer.
  5. Locomotive. Laying waste to any team in its way. Hard to believe UConn lost 6 of 8 during the season. But that was early. This is now.
  6. He fouled him. It wasn't flagrant. But it was a foul, easy call. Very easy.
  7. Few looks like he's ready for drinks. More than a few.
  8. CBS cringing at one side of the FF matchup. It can't re-bracket for market share assuming the seeds hold.
  9. Gonzaga's defensive rotation is just so bad.
  10. Timme's never committed a foul. Nor has he ever not been fouled on a shot. This much we know. According to him.
  11. Yeah, Dusty May's agent is going to be busy,
  12. Rebounding. Rebounding. Rebounding.
  13. Say goodbye to May, FAU. Poise and great basketball acumen. The opposite of K-State down the stretch, especially Johnson. He's just not a smart player.
  14. Thankfully you're not the AD. The job is already Terry's. It was once he got to the 2nd weekend. Probably was his once he climbed the ladder in KC. Let the tournament play out. Making "announcements" right now is the last thing you want to be doing.
  15. - Nowell's ankle? He's the best player left in the tournament so that's kind of big. Johnell Davis is still an unknown to most but a dynamic player. Game could go either way. Length of K-State could be big. Tenny was tall but K-State's length is athletic and above the rim. FAU may not be able to match. - Gonzaga is a terrible defensively. That's the story of this game. Will be surprised, very, if UConn doesn't advance. Just a better all around team. - San Diego State bludgeoned Bama and was resilient in doing so. Down 8 with 10 minutes left it dug deep and just took the game over. No team did that against Bama this season. Creighton's a nice story and beat a Y team tonight, as it should have. But SDSU goes to Houston. - We'll see on Disu. Silver lining was to get Allen back in the flow tonight. Miami dismantled a team that specializes in dismantling other teams. Texas took apart and laid waste to a really good Xavier team. Sometimes teams have that extra mo going for them. Texas and Terry appear to be in that mode. K State, UConn, SDSU, Texas. See you in Houston.
  16. The off-ball charge draw is such a laughable scourge of the game. Draw a charge if you're on the ball. If you're just standing in the way of someone it's a pathetic foul call.
  17. Miller will be back in soon. They can hide him defensively on SD who doesn't have great one-on-one players. Of course, Miller may do something dumb. He's already done so at a bigger level.
