  1. Yeah, but we're working on those roofs. Emergency $500K declaration to get the Candlewood fixed so we can have another emergency fix in 6 months when the place is again ransacked and destroyed. I feel good about some homeless being in the facility by YE. YE 2029.
  2. Lulz. In Austin? Your concerns are warranted but from what planet did you just arrive? I'm sure (hope) you realize things really aren't going to change. Ain't going to happen, it will only get worse. The people that are driving the city aren't going to change because the people voting in that ilk aren't going to change. Anyone that thinks it is probably can't wait to see the Easter bunny in a couple weeks. On a lighter note, I did see an interesting drum circle this morning on the Ben White access road in one of the many little camps that has risen over the last 2-3 months between 35 and Lamar. Just across the access road from the old Taco Jalisciences (orange building). Hopefully these 5 guys can hitch a ride to Eeyore's next month. They'd be welcome additions.
  3. Except the first will make a good living at the next level. The 2nd is living off his NIL, which he should.
  4. No excuse if Tennessee doesn't win this game. FAU is going to struggle outside as Tenn defends the line as well as anyone. If Barnes doesn't put the ball in the paint, over and over, then he's senile. FAU has no answer there.
  5. UCLA is such a tough team, pretty much mirrors its coach. And Cronin can coach his ass off. Doesn't matter how many starters it's down, UCLA is going to take every punch you throw and throw more back. And Jaquez is the leader of that assault. Ultimate gamer.
  6. Harlan is so damn good. Eagle was always going to succeed Nance next season on the last weekend of the tournament but that's only because the CBS suits don't want a guy talking about a player being "tied up in a straight jacket on the sideline". That, and so much more, is what makes Harlan the best in the business.
  7. I'm not going to argue as there is a lot out there. But he threw that pass from a fucking long way away....
  8. And he was 10 feet above the circle.
  9. That Nowell alley oop to Johnson was an incredible play. He was looking at Taing and simultaneously at Johnson. Almost instantaneously he threw a gorgeous pass, from way above the circle, that landed right in Johnson's hands. You will not see a better play, at any level of the game.
  10. He's astute and full of good analysis. Whatever.
  11. Jim Jackson continues to be a great color guy.
  12. Talked about it last weekend but Nowell hit a wall at the end of the Big 12 season. Teams had seen him. These teams have not. He's the epitome of a great distributor and sees the court so well. Such a fun player to watch.
  13. I'd forgotten that Taing had 10 new players on his team. In his first HC job. What an incredible job he's done. Where were they? The Linq?
  14. Hauser is a confident player right now. Sparty needs to run thru him.
  15. I'm thinking the money / advertising guys at the networks have analyzed this to the nth degree. Including the likelihood that one of the overlapping games isn't competitive and you need the other game for people to tune in. That's probably big. Wouldn't be a bad deal being on the west coast with a regional semi tipping at noon on a Thursday, and Friday.
  16. FAU is up against it. Hasn't played a Power 5 team in over 4 months. And it's so 3-point centric and Tennessee defends that line better than anyone in the country. FAU is also very small. The subtraction of Ziegler has made Tennessee even taller.
  17. That means you tip the first game around 3P Eastern on Thursday and Friday. CBS and Turner didn't pay $20 billion for the rights to go down that path. The first game tips for today and tomorrow moved up 40 minutes over last year to provide a little more cushion with things.
  18. Wooga Poplar very iffy to play tomorrow for Miami. DD scorer. Back injury vs IU. Whether he plays or not, Wooga's already made the all-name team for the tournament.
  19. And this is why the NIL is a great thing. Keeps these good college players around longer who know the NBA will be tough. It also should spread the talent out over time. Although there is much more parody in college basketball than football and it isn't even close. Bacot looks to be doing the same.
  20. Terry was in once he got to the 2nd weekend. He was likely in once he won the Big 12 tournament. Especially after destroying Kansas for the 2nd time. Del Conte said he was going to wait until the end of the season to name a coach. He's keeping to his word. Then he'll name Terry. Idiots like Bohls and Vitale are just throwing shit out there for that sake only. They'd be best served by just stepping aside and revisit what Del Conte has said from the get-go.
  21. Interesting hearing Timme this week on his decision to come back. Not about any allegiance to Gonzaga, etc. Simple math - more money on the NIL front than the NBA. There's always going to be these guys in college who are stars at that level but whose game won't necessarily translate much, or at all, to the next level. NIL makes it an easy decision for them. Great college player. I'll still take Jaquez tonight. I don't bet against him.
