  1. SAM and forcefield have one thing in common tonight: both with their legs spread wide open.
  2. 6" earlier. Chickage not satisfied.
  3. 10 years ago tonight when all hell broke loose in Wimberley. Spencer, Shaggy and others couldn't believe the reports of a massive house floating down the Blanco. I think there were 9 total in the house. One survived. Two bodies (4 and 6-year old) were never found. Good but terrifying read from Texas Monthly. (Should be free access. If not, C&P below). https://www.texasmonthly.com/news-politics/when-the-river-rises/
  4. Damn, they got it out west. Good to see.
  5. Garza's going to put a hit out on Plohetski if one's not already in the works. Pretty easy sell given that the guy would be out of the cage within 48 hours.
  6. It's Austin. Enjoy your visit to Earth.
  7. I applaud your level of optimism.
  8. So instead of 25 people riding all of Cap Metro we're down to 23. We'll be back to 24 in a day or two once Deepak is let out of jail and given a lollipop and pat on the back from Garza upon leaving.
  9. Tidal wave of water over 2.5 hours. A 31 feet+ rise in that amount of time seemed unfathomable in the immediate days after. Still does.
  10. I was there the day after the shaggy group was. Went with co-workers. A scene you can never erase from your mind. I think two of the kids in the house were never found.
  11. Coming up on the 10-year anniversary when inhabited houses floating down the Blanco came to the forefront. We helped clean up just across the river where the Porsche double parked. I'll never forget the mammoth cypress trees just turned on their sides. I wanna say Travis rose 40+ feet from those rains but don't recall whether it filled up.
  12. On a related note, I don't think I've ever seen (much of) anyone eating at this place downtown but it seems to have been around awhile.
  13. Bestseller. Retired early.
  14. Yep. Downs said at the end of the documentary that she later became the CEO of that credit union.
  15. Fucking unbridled cowardly piece of shit. He and Nicholls scouted the Murrow building and knew a daycare center was on the first floor. The building was full of government targets (ATF, DEA, FBI) that satisfied McVeigh's end game. The scum considered the kids to be "collateral damage". McVeigh knew he was going to hell but that was and is too good a place for an animal like that. This will always be the lasting memory of that day's darkness.
  16. Don't necessarily need a reason to revisit it at any time but apropos today. https://www.theunticket.com/lee-corso-interview/#google_vignette
  17. Lulz. Like being "sick of Garza's shit" is going to matter. 6 arrests w/o jail is a low bar. This perp needs to work on his game. At a minimum he deserves wi-fi.
  18. +1 A staple for us. Short rib fried rice and a lot more to like.
  19. Ted Emrick never fails to bring greatness to the Masters.
  20. Ugh. https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/apd-conducting-death-investigation-in-downtown-austin/
  21. Houston is being outrebounded and outshot but is still up. Above and beyond it's rendered Clayton useless. For now. Game is there for UH to win. Just need to close it out.
  22. FIFY. You'd see fatalities all over. The Hill Country was also a popular spot for some's last destination. A few pops plus out-of-towners on two wheels not knowing the roads = done.
  23. So the tapeworm will get 60% of the vote next time instead of 70%. He's not going anywhere. Never underestimate the idiocy of the local electorate. Garza probably won't be sending Tony Plohetski a Christmas card. He blew the lid off all this mismanagement. Even though it's not going to matter, good reporting is still good reporting. Plohetski is among the best.
