  1. I'm sure the Director of Bicycling has plenty of support staff, so hats of them/he/she/it however we do it now.
  2. The greatness of Brady wasn't just about his preparation, execution, football acumen, dedication, performance on the field or anything else. He was simply the consummate teammate, unlike any elite athlete we've seen - didn't matter if it was Moss, Gronkowski, Wilfork or some scrub safety on the practice squad. Everyone got treated the same by Brady and he expected the other players to treat him no differently than anyone else on the team. The stories are well documented - he'd go out of his way to seek out and introduce himself to anyone and everyone that was new to the team. Among several reasons why everyone always bought into Brady and the team concept and that was at the very core of the Patriot dynasty. And yet another example why he's the greatest of all time.
  3. Except it's not Super Bowl week and a 50-second impromptu, heartfelt Twitter message doesn't really wreak of Brady making it about himself.
  4. Hopefully Cro-Magnon's bus will get stranded out in the middle of nowhere for 15 years. 10 will work.
  5. It's true. Just saw a tweet from Marc Ott.
  6. Agree. Very impressed with the energy from the crowd. No doubt the team fed off of it last night.
  7. Pretty sure Donewald has been responsible for the offense all season, both pre and post-Beard.
  8. Bilas sure wants Kansas State back in this game. He's been trying to will them in but has been shit out of luck.
  9. Not sure. Far enough to sustain life threatening injuries, so must be a pretty nasty fall.
  10. The two people on 130 that were hurt...both had left their vehicles, one jumped over the barrier to avoid being hit by another car, the second was hit by a car and went over the barrier. Life threatening injuries. The person killed on Ben White...the EMS guy on KXAN was vague about it. Said it was a pedestrian but not someone getting out of a vehicle.
  11. It was actually on the 16th, not last week. Media doesn't publicize suicides.
  12. I got it. Just a PSA for anyone that drives Ben White at any time, regardless of the reason. Especially bad on the access roads.
  13. I want to say over the last 6 months (give or take) there's been 3 pedestrian fatalities on Ben White between 35 and the Westgate area. And that does not include the guy who jumped off the Congress bridge onto Ben White last week, setting himself on fire in doing so, and ruining the lives of people driving the westbound 3 cars that hit him. Another thread. Shit's a mess on Ben White, in multiple ways. Just have to be really, really careful when driving it.
  14. Watch for pedestrians. There's more by the day with more and more tents everywhere along Ben White. Shit's especially bad early in the morning while it's still dark. No good.
  15. Austin side roads are fine, nothing new. Anyone that chooses / chose to get on a flyover is paying for it. Eastbound 71 flyover at Ben White heading into downtown is a parking lot now. Guessing that's being repeated all over the city.
  16. Worth repeating, but that energy level was so impressive last night. Short turnaround with one day off from a tough, physical loss in Knoxville. Late Saturday night back into town. But the team really brought it last night. Crowd was damn good as well and that didn't hurt the team's energy.
  17. No surprise that a pedestrian was involved on Ben White.
  18. Very impressive energy from the team after a tough loss in Knoxville. Short weekend and short turnaround to tonight's game. Bringing it, along with the crowd.
  19. I'm not into passes, for anyone - janitors, lawyers, head coaches, street workers or anyone else, including cops. Black, white, yellow, brown, whatever. I don't give a shit. But I'm guessing doing your job as a cop with the camping ban is pretty much a shit show circus with Spencer Crock as the wayward ring leader. He was assigned as the individual to oversee implementation of the camping ban that went into effect May 1, 2001. He was (and is) in charge of mandating everything around getting rid of tents, trash, urination / defecation and all the other joys relating to our red carpet laid down on every public street in Austin. In charge of dictating what anyone can and cannot do when it comes to eradicating camping in the city. The vast majority of voters, by far, said that it needed to be cleaned up. Cleaned up? Take a look at Ben White today. The homeless aren't into leaving public property. More so, they're now into expansion mode. Think not? Grab an outdoor seat at the Arby's on 71 and Westgate and behold the new sights looking north. Everyone is just taking direction from Cronk and the 10 buffoons on the city council. This is a tribe that not only wants to ignore the camping ban but, more so, wants public camping to be part of our city's hallmark card from the chamber of commerce as it desperately tries to be a city with a Pacific NW zip code. And, guess what? There's no one that's going to challenge or change that. The voters asked for it to be banned. Alas, two years later, camping in the city is not going away. It's beginning to thrive again. And will continue to do so despite Matt Mackowiak, his goons and their camping ban challenges. They're collectively a medium-sized fart in a sustained, very gusty wind. I don't blame Cronk, per se. He's just getting marching orders. And this has never been an issue about being anti homeless. It's about being anti-camping in the city. And more so, about being against the idiocy, buffoonery and crookedness in our city government that gets $60,000,000 a year to address homelessness. $60,000,000 a year. And somehow, miraculously, can't figure out how to get a few thousand homeless people off the city streets and into housing, while still being able to line their pockets a little. It's a joke. But the bigger joke has been and will continue to be the collective idiocy of the Austin voting base that continues to put these clowns in charge.
  20. That was the most fucklng vaginal effort by Josh Johnson to find that fumble. Cam Newton-like.
