As much as I wanted Richardson to win this is so damn good for Alfred and her country. I can't imagine how much joy is filling SL right now.

There's no athlete in these games that I want to see win more than Richardson.

Thread for TV Schedule
Nice dropdown where you can isolate individual sports. Of note, Track and Field is known as "Athletics" https://www.espn.com/olympics/summer/2024/schedule

ESPN GAME DAY
Saban and Howard on the same set will be comical. One has a wealth of knowledge and insight while the other has a wealth of idiocy and buffoonery.

What the fuck is wrong with you, Austin?
Of course we will. But we first have to engage two or three consulting firms to confirm that's the path to be taken.

The city tells the city it doesn't know what the fuck it's doing with the homeless. Shocking. https://www.austinmonitor.com/stories/2024/07/audit-cites-lack-of-progress-on-homelessness-strategies-issued-five-plus-years-ago/

RIP Chuy's
I'll always be indebted to the Chuy's late night happy hour on Barton Springs which included that (free) trailer loaded with chips, queso, refrieds, pico, salsa and more queso. When you were on a budget and especially didn't give a shit about cholesterol, plaque or anything else it was simply paradise.

Cool Pictures of Music Icons
The Vaughan / Stones relationship was an interesting one. SRV played the Continental from '80 until early '83 and one of his later shows was filmed. A few months later Jagger was at Manor Downs and runs into SRV's manager (Chesley Millikin). Jagger openly laments about the lack of "competent" blues guitarists in the world. Millikin gets Jagger a tape of the Continental show and it ends up in Watts' hands. He's astonished and the Stones fly up Double Trouble to NYC where the latter does a gig at a trendy place called Danceteria on West 21st Street. The Stones, Johnnie Winter, Andy Warhol and others were in attendance, not surprisingly blown away by the show. While big fans, Jagger and the Stones ultimately pass on signing SRV to their own record label as "blues records just don't sell well enough".

Your favorite artist
So miss this guy. Thankfully, the music lives on but he still had so much more left. Hard to believe it's been almost 7 years.
