  1. Woo, two weeks from tomorrow we get into double digits. https://www.kxan.com/weather/weather-blog/heres-when-100o-days-end-in-austin/
  2. Sucks about Jung but I'm equally concerned about Seager. Along with Garcia, the offense / team revolves around he and Semien. The former came back a day or two earlier than expected last Wednesday and, as such, the assumption was the thumb was healed. There's no indication, now, that he'll miss more than a game here and there but once "lingering issue" is introduced then, yeah, it becomes a concern. Oh well. The injury thing obviously hasn't been kind to this team of late but it's again 20 games over .500 for the season and a crazy 46-game improvement over where things ended last season. Nice things are happening. No derailing that, injuries be damned.
  3. Oakland (local - 8:40, 8:40, 2:30) Dunning, Scherzer, Montgomery v. Waldichuk, Sears, TBD Sweep that garbage.
  4. Obviously nice to see Heaney with another great outing and the offense's power surge. But my equal good takeaway was seeing Maddux and Scherzer fully engaged on the top step during the game, whether it be about Heaney's mechanics of otherwise. The Rangers should get dividends from Scherzer every 5th day on the hill. He'll provide more between starts. Injuries...no bueno with Seager's thumb flaring up. Sounds like he may sit for game one at Oakland. No idea on Jung's situation after that brutal line drive.
  5. Yeah. You'd think we'd see some relief by then but who the hell knows. Even if it "cools" down 8-10 degrees by then we're still looking at the upper 90s which is probably going to be the case.
  6. Good stuff. Thanks for posting.
  7. Heim played catch yesterday - first (baseball-related) activity of any sort since injuring his wrist on July 27. Still no timetable on a return.
  8. Never need a prompt to introduce Bautista's jaw into the moment at 0:30.
  9. Okay. He's a polarizing punter and unbridled clown. We're all on the same page.
  10. Yes, thanks for the correction. 3 of the next 4 would be fine. 4 is realistic given the mess in Oakland.
  11. Despite the 9th, a really nice win. Down 5-0 to a decent team. Meh, they got this. 2.5 games up. Astros have a tough 4-game stretch ending Thursday at Camden. Rangers need to sweep the next 4 including the last 3 at that garbage Oakland. That would be 8 of 9. Looking for a 4.5 game lead going into next weekend at SF.
  12. The guy in the pink shirt probably thinks he's at an MLS game.
  13. Resiliency serves you well this time of the season. Bochy has a resilient team.
  14. Watch the fucking game, you douches in the home plate suites. You have the best seats in the house. If you want to go to a bar then do so.
  15. Guessing it's buried in 148 pages of this thread but just watched Our Father. Some fucked up shit captured by the woman's quote: "I walk around this town and could be related to anyone."
  16. Bochy announced late this afternoon that he got pushed back another 2 to 3 weeks per Bochy. Meaning more toward the end of August vs. initial expectation of returning Aug. 10. Eovaldi's already had two Tommy Johns along with a flexor tendon repair. He initially described this latest issue as being on the outside of the arm which is not typically indicative of an ulnar collateral issue. But you can be sure that Rangers brass is going to tread lightly given Eovaldi's injury history and what happened to deGrom. Maybe Eovaldi just needs the rest of August and can then contribute in September and the playoffs. That's the hope. But management has done its part to ensure the staff can compete and win without him.
  17. Probably necessary with Eovaldi's situation. Who knows if he'll pitch again this season.
  18. Good. Need wins in 4 of these next 5. Preferably 5 of 5. Two left with Miami and then 3 at garbage / Oakland. From there things heat up a bit more but 8-out-of-9 momentum would be big going into a tougher stretch of the season.
  19. No cheapie there.
  20. Pesky Pole like. 335 feet I'm guessing.
  21. Eovaldi out another 2 to 3 weeks. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/rangers-nathan-eovaldi-out-another-2-to-3-weeks/
  22. Oh man, that is fantastic news. Wow.
