  1. Miss/lose a fish on a plug? Check the treble hooks. Avoid the bad habit of getting pissed of and just firing out another cast. Check the hooks. First thing Sunday on the flats I missed a heck of a strike while twitching a suspending, hard jerkbait. So I did what I always do: curse my luck at not hooking up a fish on two sharp ass treble hooks with a strike like that and re-fire another cast. By the end of the day I had hooked, fought and jumped off a fat spec on the same plug. Then I hooked, fought and pulled the plug out of the mouth of the biggest red of the day. Finally I momentarily hooked and pulled off of a stud speckled trout. There was a litany of profane, spoken frustration. Finally (hours too late) I looked closely at the plug itself. Two of the hooks on the rear treble were straightened. I fish enough I should have "caught" that at the outset.
  2. Very nice work. I did my own bay boat this winter. Question: does that stuff take off water spots? I wound up waxing the water spots onto my black hull in places. FML. Need something for next time.
  3. Anyone know what's up with MudMotorTalk.com? I can't find a way to register. Thinking about doing some things to my tactical duck boat and need some info. Also may simply wind up buying a new mud motor boat.
  4. Buddy came over yesterday in a brand new GMC AT4. He claims B&W now makes an adjustable hitch specifically for that fancy, folding tailgate.
  5. Man I'm in awe. I can't even fathom the amount of muff that'll climb onboard each sandbar session. Serious question: how are you going to keep the sunscreen off of the upholstery?
  6. I agree that the gun looks great but I feel like those accessories are going to make it harder to truly conceal and carry. I'll skip the red dot optic part - I know guys here carry with those and trust them. The comp on a 9mm I don't get. Makes the gun longer, louder and throws a blinding flash when shooting in the dark. The trade-off is muting the recoil energy of 9mm?
  7. Integrally suppressed 77/44 is a "grail gun" for me.
  8. PSA had been emailing me about 300BLK also.
  9. Pretty sure it's a pain in the ass. You have to be damn sure that it goes ground. I had a client once air ship ammo. Got caught and got a fine of like $4500 from the FAA.
  10. I cleaned out my ammo locker of shit I had no intention of ever shooting or of shooting within the next year. I did four FTF deals with fishing buddies locally and walked away with 3 boxes of 300BLK subsonic in trade as well as about $300 in cash. If anyone sees any .204 Ruger online in heavier weights - 40gr and above - please shoot me a DM or quote this post. There's an old guy at my hunting lease who's down to skunk weed. I found him some 32gr Remington ammo to whack varmints during the offseason.
  11. I was in traffic behind a Sportsman brand saltwater bay boat the other day. I am pretty sure it was a 23 and not a 21. It had a bar behind the outboard cowling for skiing/wakeboarding. I looked at Sportsman when I bought a bay boat in 2018. I seem to remember that's an option from the factory. May be something to look in to. Disclaimer: All of my boat knowledge is related to either fishing, duck hunting or getting hammered at the sandbar. I have no skiing/boarding knowledge whatsoever.
  12. I have been searching for a year to get some TJ half doors. I came close one time. Has anyone ever successfully pulled this off? I want to score two half doors for an 06 TJ. Looks like I'll have to get them paint matched on my own.
  13. I've come to value 7.62mm holes in critters vs 6.5mm holes. When knocking down deer I have subscribed to the "no replacement for displacement" theory. That keeps me on the sidelines for the new, wiz bang, gun magazine, 6.5mms they're hawking but oh well. A buddy of mine was in the same situation and he found a break action 7mm/08 for his son. He eventually bought a 243 bolt gun from me because the handi rifle 08 was kicking his kid too hard.
  14. Just throwing this out there: is there a cartridge performance reason the boy couldn't tote a 30-30 for a few seasons?
  15. Sorry for the mix up. Good to know about the Duramax. Thanks.
  16. Does it need DEF? I haven't kept up with the GM trucks.
  17. What didn't you like about the Thor 4?
  18. Lol "certain Springfield branded pistols (originally made in Croatia) are really great." I posted this on the old board: I got a Croatian made Springfield two tone handgun with a 5in bbl, frame safety and its amazing. They don't make these any more for some reason - I've checked. The manual of arms of a 1911 but lighter, 13+1, and it actually runs. It'll even cycle rat shot for snake eliminating. Dead-on-balls accurate. My favorite handgun. It lives inder my right elbow in the truck center console every day. I would Fn cry like a 6yo girl with a skinned knee if it ever got stolen. But it's the handgun I'm most confident in connecting with and I keep it where shit is most likely to go down. FU Jack Dorsey, Bezos, Bill Gates and Zuck. I won't be silenced about these Croatian made devices from Springfield!
  19. Wrote a positive post about the handgun model named in the two posts above. For some reason Tapa and or Surly changed the model named above into laughter emojis so I have removed it.
  20. I live in Florida. There was a brand new Bronco parked in my neighborhood today. I was towing a trailer (#trucknuts) so I couldn't pull over and ogle it.
  21. Anyone know where I can find a kydex OWB paddle holster for a Sig P320 Compact that's wearing an Olight Balder Mini? There's a company that makes what I want on Amazon but they don't have the 320 Compact + Olight Balder Mini holster for some reason.
  22. I've got a Trijicon Accu Power on one of my 308 bolt guns and it's amazing. Not that exact model but from the same lineup. The glass makes my four Leupolds look like crap. That said it sounds like overkill for what you are planning. But if you have $$$ to burn...

  24. The Qualified video of the guy who separated on the ramp from the Nissan Pathfinder was funnier IMO. Towing a 25ft+ center console with twin outboards behind a Pathfinder was an awesome idea.
  25. I leave the safety chains attached to the tow vehicle when I separate the ball from the trailer. Just in case. Safety chains are the last step in the separation process. When I was a brand new boater I had a boat trailer start to move on me. Me and a buddy stopped and chocked it.
