  1. In 2022, the NCAA not only extended the transfer period and based it on the CFP selection date, but also passed a rule that "reasonable accommodations" would be made for players on teams participating in the national championship game. Not only does he have extra time per se based on last year's rule change, if Texas makes it to the NCG he gets a reasonable accommodation to transfer if he wants. The simple part is that he will be choosing from what's left if he stays for the CFP, so he needs to take his visits while he can and choose while there are still a bunch of teams who still want QBs.
  2. Probably because the teams who are after instant help at QB don't want to wait to see who he'll choose after CFP. They want to know who they have so they can recruit the rest of their needs on offense. I don't blame him. The schools that need QBs are going to get them right now. Four of the top 10 QBs in the portal have already transferred/committed. No. CFP entrants have extra time. It's 100% because he wants to be in the early group and choose his new school rather than be limited to what's left.
  3. 17 straight legit pull-ups of 123 pounds at 5'6" is a lot different than 17 straight legit pull-ups of 235 pounds at 6'5".
  4. But you said I wouldn't need to keep all the receipts... I mean, come on, man.
  5. Or he could just spend a lot of time making shitty predictions about this season and our head coach. Glass houses, dude.
  6. You're all missing the Goddamned point with this Simms-Applewhite-Mock-Nordgren bullshit, and you should all shut the fuck up. Instead, can we talk about those stupid Jeff Davis commercials with Ewers? Who's advising this kid? Because they're making him look like he should be wearing a plaid suit and selling used cars by the airport with no credit check.
  7. The same Tuberville that lost to Vanderbilt and 3-9 UConn?
  8. I agree with everything you said, except 'fuck him this weekend.' Fuck him for all times.
  9. This was one the best things I've ever seen in Texas football in my entire life. Top 20. I had to watch it a few times.
  10. Man...between that and the way he was blinking, I was scared something else was going on.
  11. The boos are FUCKING HILARIOUS!!! EAT A DICK, BERT.
  12. I prefer to remember that particular slimy fucker as Buck Compton from Band of Brothers.
  13. No fucking shit? His last year, you say? Did he also do that as a sophomore? Or even as a junior? How about 'not even within the same galaxy' and 'no not even in the same zip code' respectively? Where Cook ends up and where he is next year are two different things. DevDuv barely broke a hundred yards for the season as sophomore and was 500ish and 4 TD as a junior. A worst, Cook could end up as good as DevDuv, who had an amazing senior year. Cook's ceiling is incredible. But next year is his second year. I sure as shit hope he catches a 100 for 1400 next year. I'll be ecstatic with 40 for 500 and 5 TD. Go back to the fucking igloo, man.
  14. How many announcements have there been already just in the last few days, genius?
  15. Same here. I think Cook could be at worst another DevDuv and I'm ecstatic about that. ...but it doesn't change that he wasn't exactly a regular performer this year. 7 for 124 and zeroes in all the other statistical categories. I want Ewers back next year. I think we're a clear top 5-6 contender with him and a marginal to 7-12 contender without him. It just seems like the calculus on his side is that it's in his best interest to go to the NFL this year.
  16. What "great fucking receivers" are in the portal? Only ones with decent numbers I've heard about announcing recently are Kris Mitchell and Deion Burks. USC and Notre Dame are each losing one to the portal, but they haven't shown anything. But my point wasn't that we wouldn't get any, it was that Ewers would be starting over with an entirely new pass-catching group.
  17. Back in September-October, Quinn was projected as high as 6th. The latest mock drafts mostly have him in the bottom of the first round, and that's a huge drop (like a 60% or higher decrease) in money, but a few have him in the middle of the first round. Worthy and Mitchell are currently projected as first rounders or high second rounders and Sanders is projected as low first to second round. Will he improve his draft stock coming back with all of his favorite targets gone (assuming Adonai and Sanders declare given their draft projections)? He's starting over with Johntay Cook, Helm, and...Cain? Neyor (did he get a medical redshirt year)? Someone from the portal? If he hadn't missed those two games, he'd be over 3k yards with a 70% completion percentage and likely a 4:1 or better TD:INT ratio to go with his 5 rushing TDs (and he could still reach those numbers on Saturday). Does he vastly improve his draft projection with an entirely new crew of receivers to throw to?
  18. Option B. That's potentially six consecutive solid years of QBs. The last time was 2 years of VY and 4 years of Colt.
  19. People shouldn't say this. Change it to "Ewers has a shoulder injury, so 12-1 Big 12 Champ Texas shouldn't get in" and we'd be screaming bloody murder. What a dumb fucking argument. If FSU is undefeated ACC Champ, shitty backup or not, they should go.
