  1. Listening to the OTF livestream and Bobby mentioned that we had a higher offer than Ohio State for this guy. Matt Patricia signing a 3 year deal was likely the difference. Bobby then mentioned something I was thinking yesterday - at some point the numbers are large enough that the differences don't matter as much. For example, there's not much of a difference between $1 million and $1.5 million in terms of lifestyle. It's not like the difference from 60k to 90k, which does. This is especially the case if you are a college kid living on campus. Of course if someone comes in with an offer several times another then that can make a difference (like $1 million vs. $5 million.) But that just doesn't happen very often.
  2. We offered an OL $1.6 million - double the base salary of a 2nd round draft pick. We're anything but lowballing players.
  3. "[Birm] Ohio State RB Bo Jackson's future with program is in doubt, as he is asking for more than former Buckeye/ 2nd round NFL pick TreVeyon Henderson is making this year in New England" Not sure if they are going by his NE salary of $840k or his cap number which is $2 million. Didn't watch the video.
  4. It’s Dry January what do you expect?
  5. I wouldn't say that Michigan is "embroiled in scandal" now - they hired Whittingham and he can coach. I took a look at some of the top portal classes, and they are full of players who did NOT playin P2 conferences. Tech's class has exactly one player from a P2 team (Washington). The rest are B12/ACC or G5. Texas pulling several from places like Michigan and Florida would be absolutely insane. That said, if Sark/Flood really don't have any backup plans for the OL then yeah, they're fucking idiots.
  6. There are people who know more than I do but I'd think the lack of visibility into who they have for "Plan B" is what's driving the angst.
  7. quoting myself to add this from Ross Dellenger:
  8. I'm assuming Golding hasn't identified the offensive staff to replace the people Lane is stealing, and even if he has there will be players who would rather play elsewhere if they don't like who he's bringing in.
  9. Nearly the entire offensive coaching staff is leaving and it's not like we're dealing with an Ohio State here. That roster is going to be ripped apart once Ole Miss is done, IMHO.
