  1. The all-time starting 5 is not really debatable: Magic, Jordan, LeBron, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain 2nd team considerations: Shaq, Oscar Robertson, Dream, Steph Curry, Kobe, Bird, Kareem Theres always room to wonder if adding complementary players would elevate the team so guys like Rodman or Stockton would be in consideration, but I don’t buy that.
  2. That’s one of the biggest surprises of the Trump era, that no viable riser in the GOP has treated Trump like he treats everyone else. There is SO much to clown about Trump that he would clearly not be able to handle. But no one who matters has gone after him. Haley should let 1 minute of camera time lapse without mentioning Trump and the word “loser” together. And talking about how he has been found guilty of sexual assault. And mentioning how many times he’s gone bankrupt. And on and on. But mostly talking about what a loser he is.
  3. Any chance this LNG move is some kind of negotiating consequence of the GOP tanking the border security deal?
  4. Seriously, why didn’t she do this? It’s exactly what Trump would have done in her position. It’s partially how he got the nomination in 2016. Fred Rogers in a suit wearing a VY=GOAT hat would be fucking awesome.
  5. 43% in NH for Haley is not enough to really change the odds on the ultimate outcome, but it is enough for her to continue on to SC. If she doesn’t win SC she has no real reason to continue but if it’s within 5 points she should probably go on thru Super Tuesday.
  6. VD Day. Victory, over Donald. A man who acts like a human Venereal Disease.
  7. LoL At listing LBJ and JFK without mentioning Vietnam and listing Reagan without mentioning trickledown or embracing evangelicals. Theres arguments for Ike, LBJ, and Clinton as better than Biden but everyone else is laughable. Biden did: Passed a huge infrastructure package in a severely challenging political climate that ensured the US will remain the premier world power for the remainder of the 21st century. Navigated Russia losing a ground war that didn’t jeopardize American lives while refurbishing/refreshing the entire arsenal of our military and testing our capabilities without actually having to engage. Reinvigorated NATO after it was sabotaged by Trump. Navigated disengaging from China as the consequences of their demographic collapse emerge. All-time low unemployment and steady GDP growth despite dramatically rising interest rates that were a necessity to tame inflation he inherited. Made significant (albeit insufficient) progress on policy to address climate change. He didn’t make progress on healthcare or the border. He did virtually nothing to address fentanyl and mass shootings. But it is hard for me to see more net gains in any other recent president’s first term, especially considering the political climate.
  8. Haley will not be VP. Brown woman who actually challenged him. Trump don’t play that shit. He will accept her support like he did for Lyin Ted and Little Marco, but ain’t picking her for VP. Vance and Noem to me are the only viable picks.
  9. It is crazy but I truly believe Biden was the only candidate who could’ve beaten Trump in 2020, and Trump is the only candidate who could possibly lose to Biden in 2024 (and the only one who would’ve lost to him in 2020). Biden is OLD AS FUCK. No getting around it. He looks old, sounds old, acts old. His age is inherently a national security risk. But there is no comparison when it comes to who is more dangerous to the wellbeing of our country and its citizens. Trump is, literally, THE WORST. Now, it helps make it even easier given that Trump is also old as fuck, and that Biden’s administration has a lot of positives they can point to over the last 4 years. If Biden were under 65, we’d be talking about him as one of the best presidents since FDR. Instead, we are whiteknuckling it hoping he doesn’t die before he can outrun a person hellbent on destroying our democracy to install a racist dictatorship.
  10. If that actually happens it will be because a shitload of independents turned out to vote against Trump, meaning Haley will win NH and it’ll be an actual race. I will be extremely surprised but we’ll see. The fucked part is gonna be when Trump runs independent and Biden and Haley split votes, making Trump president again.
  11. What’s funny about that is that Bagwell is also the kind of dude that would have advocated trading him away as a prospect.
  12. My current guess is he accidentally calls her “Nikki Curry” in a speech, more than once. “Boring Nimrata” would be my next guess. He could also do a reference to something female. Something like “Cold fish Nimrata” or “Unlikable Nimrata”. “Slumdog Nimratanaire” would be the funniest and most racist.
  13. If Haley wins NH, it’ll be a race. She’s got a lot of corporate money and will probably have it pouring in if she wins NH. There is about a 3% chance of her winning NH.
  14. I’m happily married. I am also constantly on the precipice of divorce or murder. It’s dramatic but it suits me. The core things in my marriage (JMHO): 1. Sex. Without that, it’s just friendship. If you have issues around sex before you get married, you have no chance. 2. Religion. If it’s important to either of you, it has to be important to both of you. 3. Money. In the end, nothing causes more divorces than money problems. 4. Kids. Better be closely aligned on how many and how your general approach to parenting matches up. Also what happens if you want them and can’t conceive. 5. inlaws. If you are close to your extended families, you better like each other. If you hate your wife’s mother, you’re probably fucked. Other than that, it’s lesser stuff like tidiness, responsibility sharing, etc. Know this: you will find out a lot more negative things about your partner after you get married. I guarantee it.
  15. 0%. Only way he agrees to that is if it’s at $45M/yr.
  16. A lefty hitting OF is the final piece. Bellinger, Pederson, Belt, Gallo, Ford, Rosario all make some sense. It’s a shame Brantley retired.
  17. A Garcia/McCullers salary dump is interesting. And the Mets would probably be a good partner for that deal. It would put a ton of pressure on Hunter Brown and Cristian Javier but would free up $20M/yr for the next 3 seasons.
  18. Both Verlander and Pressly could potentially be free agents after this season, so the front offices expectations about how those contracts play out may have had an influence on signing Hader.
  19. I hope they bring McCullers back as a RP. Adding him to a 5 headed monster of Hader, Pressly, Abreu, Montero, and Whitley could make for an insane bullpen for thru 2025.
  20. We are already a contender. We are a DT away from having the deepest roster we’ve had since before scholarship limits and possibly the deepest we’ve EVER had.
  21. Not coming after you because I don’t know what you’re about and I think most people are the same way you are. But I have thought about this incident every single school day since it happened. My last thought every single time I drop my little girls off at school, as I watch them walk away and get outside my ability to protect them, is “my god I hope they don’t get slaughtered by someone with an AR15 today.” I thought it this morning.
  22. As badass as Hader is, there’s a lot of downside to paying a closer ~$120M/5yrs, especially since it would also cost a 2nd round draft pick and $500k in international bonus pool money. If they do that they better supplement it with another bullpen arm and maybe an upside SP and a lefty hitting OF.
  23. If you know Jack dick fuck about demographic trends and how our economy works, YES.
