  1. Without looking, I bet it’s been a LONG time since Texas had 10 guys selected in a single nfl draft.
  2. Man y’all hatin on DMO. He has rare athleticism and a size/speed combo that usually gets guys drafted in the top half of the draft.
  3. My current guess on where our guys get drafted next year: 1st round: Bijan 2nd: Overshown, Coburn 3rd: Whittington 4th: Jamison 5th: Roschon 6th: Sweat 7th: Ojomo Signed UDFA: Billingsley, Cook, Jones Juniors like Collins, Ford, Thompson, Barron, Watts, Keilan, and Crawford could play themselves into early entry considerations but would be extremely unlikely to be taken in the top 3 rounds regardless of how well they show between now and then. The other seniors (Dorsey, Milton, and Oghoufu) could get UDFA looks depending on how they test at pro day.
  4. Wtf? Did you accidentally respond to the wrong post? I said I will likely vote 90% democrat. I’m pro universal healthcare.
  5. I am 42 and consider myself too late for Gen X but too early to be a Millenial. I have traits of both stereotypes. I was raised ultra-conservative south Texas catholic. Both my parents are proud to be single issue pro-life voters. I consider myself very lucky they don’t watch too much Fox news and aren’t big time Trumpers, although I’m sure they voted for him twice. I actively avoided politics until my late 20s. If I had voted, I would’ve gone straight ticket GOP. Over my late 20s and early 30s, I gained enough life experience and did enough reading and critical thinking to realize a whole lot of the political views I’d been fed during my youth were bullshit. The rise of Trumpism was the final straw for me; I reluctantly voted for Evan McMullin for president in 2016 and proudly voted Biden in 2020. I haven’t made my final decisions yet but I am pretty sure I will vote 90%+ Democrat this year. I will never vote for anyone who doesn’t reject Trump and the big lie. So all that is to say I wouldn’t say I’ve done a complete 180 but I vote wildly different than I would have as a younger man.
  6. The war crimes have made it really hard to envision any kind of full resolution in the near term. If the Russians hadn’t bombed civilians en masse then I would think there could be a negotiated truce (Russia keeps Crimea, Ukraine promises to never join NATO, Russia pays money for reparations). As it is I think this only ends with Putin’s death or displacement; that could take awhile and cost the world a lot.
  7. Sure seems like Elon is destined for a “Britney Spears shaves her head” meltdown. Not sure if this is it but it’s coming.
  8. Obviously zero chance based on his experience and Trump/DeSantis grip on the gop. But he seems like he’d make a good governor and depending on what he does over the next 18 months he could put himself in position to be on VP shortlists if a non-Trump/DeSantis Republican wins the nomination (there were rumors he was on Haley’s list). https://www.politico.com/news/2021/04/28/trump-florida-republican-fix-gop-484807
  9. I still wouldn’t bet on McMullin but this race will be close; I will be surprised if it’s wider than 3 points. If there is one red state where Trump is a net negative to the GOP, it’s Utah.
  10. Fuck a bunch of little boys in the ass Start a bunch of hospitals Hate on the gays Start a bunch of schools Hate on muslims Meals on wheels and shit Christianity is a mixed bag for sure. Anecdotally, in my life I have found zero correlation between a person’s character and their religious beliefs, although generally the more someone talks about religion, the less I like them, regardless of their beliefs.
  11. He cannot be allowed to occupy a United States senate seat. My god.
  12. I think over time it’ll shake out in Texas’ favor. I expect the rules to change to tamper the chaos; even if they don’t Texas resources will outstrip all others, like you said. But in the short term there may be a period where there’s a combination of other teams spending beyond their resources, players operating with false/incomplete info, and Texas not having their NIL operations totally refined yet. That could all combine to Texas’ detriment.
  13. One complete unknown for me is how much of Texas’ NIL resources are going to be taken up by retaining current players. If every player is essentially a free agent every year, it sure seems like spending could get out of hand in a hurry. My worry is if we are giving 9 figure deals to every one of our players who makes an all-conference team, the money will eventually run out and there may be less for recruits and portal adds.
  14. If the number is 5 then my guess would be 1 WR, 1 DL, 2 LB, and a P.
  15. Trying to assess what the portal needs will be after 6 games: Current Weaknesses: Edge/OLB Expected significant losses: RB: Bijan, Roschon WR: Whittington OL: Jones DL: Coburn, Ojomo, Oghoufu, Sweat LB: Overshown, Dorsey DB: Jamison, Cook Are we ok with a RB room of Keilan, Brooks, Blue, Baxter, and Wisner? Neyor coming back along with returning talent and recruits should be fine at WR. The young talent can likely serve as an upgrade over Jones. I think we will need at least one DT and one Edge/LB from the portal. There’s a lot of young talent on the DL and a couple of good recruits at LB, but we lose a lot of talent in Coburn and Overshown. If everybody else comes back (Barron, Watts, etc.) combined with the recruits (especially if we get Toviano) then I think DB is fine. So for now I think the shopping list will be short: an Edge to upgrade the position, a LB to replace Overshown, and a DT to replace Coburn.
  16. Had mine done 2 weeks ago. Procedure was quick, total time in the office was <45 minutes, total time doc actually working on me was <10 min. I used Shaw partially based on the recommendations in this thread. Good experience although midway through he made a joke about making a mistake that I did not appreciate at the time. I would compare the procedure to having a tooth pulled, pain wise. Basically felt like 5 minutes of somebody thumping your nutsack hard. Never would have rated the pain higher than 4/10. The finality of the baby making phase of my life being over hit me during the procedure and that affected me more than I expected. I took celebrex and iced my balls the first 2 days and pain was minimal. I didn’t wear a jock strap the first week after and in hindsight I wish I would have. I didn’t have sex for a week and thought I took it pretty easy overall, but a week after surgery my balls swelled and righty developed a lump. Not all that painful but certainly uncomfortable and disconcerting. The googles tell me it’s either a sperm granuloma (can last days or up to years) or hematoma (usually lasts a couple weeks). Called the office and they told me to give it a week and come in if it doesn’t go away or if it gets worse. I’ve had sex several times this past week and nothing different of note other than minor discomfort that I expect to go away completely over the next couple weeks. All in all I wished I’d pushed back on my wife and tried harder to convince her to get back on the pill, but I’m sure once this lump resides and everything goes back to normal that I will have no ragrats.
  17. That’s something I don’t understand about the Democrats. Why aren’t they playing off people’s fear the way the GOP does?! ”They want to take away your Social Security.” ”They want to let you get raped and force you to have the baby.” ”They want to arm school shooters with AR-15s.” ”They want to overthrow the government and send us into a post apocalyptic wasteland.” (Sadly, they are all true and the last one is most true.”)
  18. Wages have lagged inflation (hourly up only 5% yoy). They are part of the equation but there are other key drivers. I am starting to believe lower productivity is an underrated factor. Of course oil supply (Russia, opec, stateside limits) is also a major major factor. I do not believe unemployment will get high anytime in the next decade, regardless of what happens to rates, inflation, or the stock market.
  19. Abbott would be +8 in normal times. You can give Beto a point because of Dobbs, maybe another because of Uvalde, maybe 2 more because he’s campaigning so hard/effectively. Then take away 2 from Beto because of inflation and the stock market. Abbott is going to win by somewhere between 4 and 7 points. It’s hopeless for Beto. It always was.
  20. So far this thread has been all “pathetic man” and not much “downfall” wtf.
  21. This has all the makings of Beville starting then being replaced by Evers who runs all over us while Card shrinks from the moment like a scrotum in ice water. Fuck me.
  22. If Walker, Masters, or Oz becomes a Senator, we are turbofucked. Each of those would start off their career as on the list for worst Senator ever.
