  1. I'm not offended by stock buy backs. The money is then forced to reinvest in other businesses and drives up the value of the remaining shares. Just as the Gov has no business in how you manage your personal life, finances, and choices...nor should we be trying to tell business what is the best way to spend their money. Most 'corp welfare' is nothing more than bull shit exemptions the Gov has offered for buying new equipment, hiring workers, or making other expenditures that are offered as incentives to offset the high tax rates we have. The Gov has gotten into the biz management business. I cannot tell you how many trillions are spent to avoid taxes...sometimes on fully useless, unnecessary equipment. Many times to the financial detriment of the company doing it. Just like the stupid idea that buying a large house is a great investment...because you can deduct some of the interest expense!!! You're getting 33% +/- of the interest payment each year? That's nothing compared to the financial ruin put on millions who are in homes they cannot afford...or homes that prohibit them from saving for retirement, kids education, or working like slaves to stay afloat. That's why the FLAT TAX is a so beautiful. It gets Gov manipulation out of everyone's choices. The Gov doesn't spend it's money worth a shit...why would you want it helping you or your business spend money? So as much as 'corp welfare' doesn't bother me nearly as much...I agree let's kill it all. Get the Gov out of business, farming, all of it. *The problem is that once Gov comes into a market and fucks with it...it's like trying to get flour out of a baked brownie. So many bad decisions have been based off Gov policy that the vacuum Gov leaving creates will be devastating in many cases. Like farmers (I know quite a bit about that market as I've been in it). Cheap Gov insurance programs, tax deductions for equipment, Gov subsidies, and other Gov intrusion into farming has driven pricing for seed, tractors, land, rent, and an endless host of other items. It'll impact John Deere, Case, Monsanto, land lords, and endless other entities that you can't even imagine. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it as an outsider. But the epic financial cluster fuck it would create would be...devastating to all farm areas and lots of others as well. I'm afraid that it's going to be financial collapse that will end it all. At that point I expect that there will be more call for additional Gov involvement & Gov bailouts.
  2. It turns out you can't pay people 70-90% of what they used to make working....just to sit around and do nothing for 20-30 years. No matter how great they were at pointless clerical work, holding up a broom, or creating new & exciting regulations & wasteful programs. Who could have known? In 04 when I called on the US Gov in DC for work, I quickly learned that most of these 'retirees' don't really retire. No...they leave on Friday with punch & cake to celebrate reaching their pension level...then come back on Monday working for General Dynamics or whatever at 35% more pay with the Gov being charged for them to do both work (at a premium due to a nice Gov contractor profit) and a nice pension. In a world where the rest of us have zero guarantees...we're being asked to endlessly pony up to protect the lifestyles of Gov employees & other beneficiaries. Sorry...but not sorry. Time to come join the rest of us in the real world. I mean the non 1%'s of course...we'll just keep being awesome.
  3. A. Wrong. B. We've already learned that higher taxes don't generate extra revenue. It's a global marketplace...and that's why trillions are kept outside the reach of US taxation by US corporations.
  4. Gone...like Nate's finger. Sorry kids...moose out front should have told you.
  5. No one is lending us money now. It's mainly the Fed printing money for the Tres Dept to 'borrow'. The only good news is about every country is broke as well. But I've said for some time that's part of the plan...it puts us on the road to one world Gov or at a minimum one world currency...which means one world Gov within 5 years of that point.
  6. A. I really don't care where you stick your cock...at least as an American. Nor do I give a shit if you want to 'marry*' Steve. B. The number of single parent families and the results children from those families achieve is remarkably unremarkable regardless of race, creed, or whatever. But thanks to the left and Murphy Brown we're all told that it's not a big deal...as long as you don't look at poverty and incarceration statistics. C. The prison industrial complex is a result of B...not the creation of it. D. I won't disagree with that. Once again a product of our spoiled, self centered, morality failures, and our success. A nation told they deserve to be happy...without consideration for anyone else. *marriage is a religious institution dating beyond America's founding. You can't really be in a gay marriage...it defies the entire purpose of marriage & it's originator. But I could care less if you want to live in a gay civil union...and they'll call it whatever they want. But let's not pretend that offense wasn't part of the reason civil union wasn't acceptable.
  7. If America is destroyed by anything...it will be by our success. That and the destruction of the family structure, along with morality.
  8. The EU is fucked. They're dragging shit loads of dead weight & debt with Italy, Spain, and Greece...not to mention the muslim invasion they've brought on themselves. They're not taking any leadership position in this world or the next. China has a billion poeple...but also a ton of issues. There's no doubt that China has the ambition. And being communist means never having to say you're sorry. We need to stand up to China or they will indeed control the region. I see the 3d printing revolution making a huge impact on China...India and Mexico as well. I'm not sure anyone is ready for what 3d printing and other technologies are going to do to economies. Russia is no threat IMHO. They're way behind in any and all technologies. They have a dwindling population, with a 90% alcoholism rate and no motivation. Thanks Communism!!! Bigger threat is their weapons systems (IE nukes) getting in the wrong hands. "What you can't buy for money in Russia...you can buy for MORE money in Russia" It's one of their favorite sayings. But the dumbest part of your post...and that's saying something...is that somehow this is Trump's fault.
  9. Only 2 seasons Gil...after that it was just our living room furniture. : )
  10. 2 .4gh & 5gh with 2 terra bite storage for sale. Never used the hard drive - got pissed when it wouldn't work with my HP printer and bought something else. $90...no HDMI ports. I'm in Austin area from time to time - but it's in San Antonio.

Rooms to Go leather couch / love seat / recliner - everything works... from a dog household, so if allergies are a problem....sorry. $400 to any asshole off the street. $450 to Surly members. 😄 Seriously $300...or if you have a really good charity story of someone deeply in need of them...come get them. Chair is 8.5/10 - 4 HMDI ports. Love seat is 7/10 - both sides recline. With 8 HDMI ports. The sofa is 6.5/10 with some scratches from our dog who loved being up there. It has electric recline functions on the two outside units. HDMI ports are not working. 😔 Oh yea...the come get them part. That's non-negotiable. 12. Yea...gotta be it. 🙄 That's only true if I didn't think any black woman was hot...which isn't true.
  13. Gosh...maybe she just doesn't want her personal (health?) business on display for all the world to see? I guess this is the burden of having a beautiful first wife. This was never a problem under Obama.
  14. Wow...American dollars? You know what we call it when we dodn't see Michelle Obama for 7 days? A great week. 😉
  15. Yea...but not everyone wants to work part time at Starbucks. For the first time in a long time I'm feeling some upward ticks in employement & wages. It's kinda nice. Just as long as it doesn't become insanely inflationary.
  16. I hope he gets a billion... Nothing makes me happier than watching Democrats piss money away. 🤣 Where's 'Abortion Barbie" these days? Doesn't she need a couple hundred million of the DNC's $$$ to beat Abbot?
  17. It's not about the Money Money Money for ABBA... as they 'turn down $1 billion for a reunion tour' Yep...that ABBA...turns out they've got an ass load of money. Current mood thanks to Theo...
  19. 15 years ago all Democrats were die hard about securing the border. Hell, 10 years ago even Obama said he'd do it. But there is no doubt that JFK wouldn't get 10% of DNC primary votes today. Which is why I laugh when people say Reagan couldn't win in the GOP today...I think he still could. I agree that Trump is much more liberal than people on either side will admit. He's a NYC conservative...which is everyone who's right of Mao. What put Trump over the top was IMHO a combination of hitting key concerns (economy, border security) and his clear willingness to stand up to people...be it the GOP, the MSM, or the Democrats.
  20. I don't think Pence avoids private meetings with women for any nefarious reasons...quite the opposite. And I think it's smart for multiple reasons... It's a reality that there are no shortage of women who would throw themselves at a man with power, influence, money, or position. To deny that is a fools errand to defend. Even if Pence resists the temptation...it doesn't mean he can't be accused of it regardless. Which we also know happens. And we all know who will be believed...and it's not Pence or any man in that position. It also removes others from insinuating that is what happens..."Oh, she got a promotion all right! And we all know how that happened!" Women are their own worst enemy on this front...how many times have you heard that in a work environment? There's always gossip and it doesn't matter if it's true or not. The funniest part about this is the bitching comes from leftists that don't believe Pence has anything to teach or offer...yet are highly offended and sure he's denying someone opportunity by not meeting with them one on one in private.
  21. Lol...yep. You nailed it. I was out there at 5 am with all the other trustfunders loading hogs...walking beans, and baling hay. This is going to come as a shock to you...but 80% of US millionaires are self made. You don't have to be from a rich family to learn how to work or be successful. People come to America all the time with nothing and become successful here. So why is it asking too much for people to work that are citizens? I can't speak for everyone else on the right here...but I go to work pretty much every damn day. And it's not that I'm against paying taxes...I'm against paying for people to do nothing that are fully capable of paying their own way. And it's not why you think. I'm not jealous...I'm not mad about how much I pay in taxes. I'm pissed at the idea we're building a bigger and bigger dependent class of deadbeats that will eventually be our ruin. It's not sustainable. And frankly I truly believe many of these programs were done with this in mind. Build a massive, dependent class that will break the US financially and lead to the financial demise of the the US. I think most on the left think they're doing these things for good reasons...but the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Unaccountable, bloated, massive Federal Gov and it's programs are wasteful, ineffective, build dependence, and destroy initiative. If things do not change there will not be an America in 50 years...probably less.
  22. Yea...how dare I want Gov limited to the provisions of the US Constitution! <outrage>
  23. Well we can't all care as much as liberals. There's only so much OPM to spend.
  24. Putting people to work...giving them a feeling of accomplishment. Quit telling everyone their a victim...make people responsible for their actions.
