  1. I lived in SW Louisiana (LC) for roughly a decade plus, kids were born in SWLA, which my daughter, as a child, told other youngsters that she was Cajun. Had to inform her that it didn’t work that way. Loved the culture, fellowship, sports, fishing/hunting, and the food of SWLA! Did I mention the food? Should’ve been in all caps! My wife and I were there from ‘96 to ‘08 and both of us have degrees from McNeese. We try to go back to a game each year after mid-October. Lake Charles was a great place for my family while we were growing as a family. Yes, they are “different,” but having grown up during my teens in SETX, you really can’t tell a difference. So trying to tie my story to the SEC - I never saw an SEC sticker until aggy! LSU fans/alumni would’ve never been SEC SEC, because if they weren’t the ones winning, then F them! Hook’em!!!
  2. My Dad is actually mentioned by a Longhorn teammate, where he came in to play on the OL of the waning minutes of the Cotton Bowl vs Navy. He’d NEVER played an offensive/defensive snap through his Senior year, only special teams. Dad played the last drive vs Navy, a little over two minutes, which they didn’t score. In a way, you could say he was like “Rudy” from the previous decade. You can google it: Longhorns, Mickey Riggs, 1963 Cotton Bowl vs Navy, Sports Illustrated. It’d been years since I’ve read it, but I have it printed somewhere. Hook’em!!!
  3. Wife permitting, I’ve moved boxes of SI issues with Cowboys, Longhorns, Jordan, Tiger, and NC and SB covers over the decades, going back to about 2008-2010. I even have some from Spieth’s first couple of majors. I’ve dropped my subscription over at least 10-15 years, but would by a magazine at BnN prior to the college/NFL season. I’ve got the issue/cover framed when Texas beat Namath and Bama in the Orange Bowl. Started my sub while in the Army (late 80s), so it’s kind of cool to see the mailing label from West Germany, S Korea, and multiple US residences over the years. Sad to see them go. One of the few pubs that I would read cover to cover! Hook’em!!!
  4. All I can add is a dumbfounded aggy? All ???? Hook’em!!!
  5. All I know is that “Bama Fan” is starting to make “Florida Man” and what happens there more realistic. My future SEC travels might be limited to Nashville and Knoxville? Maybe sprinkle in Athens on a frugal year? Hook’em!!!
  6. Their depth is G-5 “quality and proven depth,” don’t you know? Shit, if they were previously relegated to G-5, that just means we didn’t want them in the first place, among a vast many. Hook’em!!!
  7. I’ve already heard an aggy at work stating their #1 Transfer Portal class! God I wanted to burst his bubble by telling him that they omitted the “quality percentages” let alone what they lost vs gained! The hive-mind only looks at quantity and not quality! We’re in the Top 10, with 5-7 portals, as this grading, but they have like 20+? I know, it’s the Elk doing his magic! Hook’em!!!
  8. After the current “hang-ons” to their roster are gone, within a season or two, Bama is about to experience a decade of futility like we did from 2011 to Sark’s resurrection after his first season. The game has changed so much, that without Saban, Tuscaloosa is like bringing an out of state kid on a visit to B/CS. If there isn’t “bags,” they ain’t coming! Hook’em!!!
  9. Yes Ted, the applicants are seeking assistance to the “real” military academies, NOT Fng CosPlay! People don’t need to get a letter of recommendation to attend aggy! As a veteran, those officers that attended the Citadel or VMI, carried more “weight” than a glorified ROTC aggy. Just saying. Hook’em!!!
  10. Bama is headed straight back into the post-Stallings and pre-Saban era! That fact will be hard for them to understand that “bags” and the Saban “promise” of NFL draft status don’t carry the water anymore. DeBoer is a historical great coach, but in today’s timeframe, that ain’t bringing in the Jimmys and the Joes! Time will tell, but IMO, I like my odds. Hook’em!!!
  11. Bjorke is the classic example of Fup and move up from his earliest examples. Ole Miss, maybe he wasn’t privy to telephone records, but still. He hasn’t even proven himself at aggy, like even being top 25 in the Directors Cup, since his arrival at B/CS. All the $$$ aggy throws at both men/women’s athletics, and they still suck! Search committee at OSU was blindfolded/mislead. Good luck going forward. Hook’em!!!
  12. I think the OSU search committee googled the successful recent history of the wrong Texas University Athletic Director? It happens, as I’ve “google searched” crap for an hour and totally went down the “rabbit hole” of misleading shit! Hook’em!!!
  13. aggy is so delusional in their thought process. How they can possibly think that they are “worthy” of any type of discussion is baffling! Hook’em!!!
  14. Josh Pate is being paid to say aggy is relevant. They are not, and they’ll be lucky to win 7 games, even with their soft schedule. Hook’em!!!
  15. Nick Saban does own a Mercedes dealership in Nashville. Not discounting his sports car dealership in Bama. So it ain’t about cars going forward. Hook’em!!!
  16. When my Dad was my HS Football HC, during the ‘80s, there was only about 5 “black shoes” teams in college football. I really for some reason thought that was awesome and begged him to get us black shoes for my Senior year, which he did! We didn’t make the playoffs, but we looked good! Hook’em!!!
  17. They both have basically the same bulk stuff. My wife being a teacher got us a Sam’s membership that is less than half of the annual Costco membership. I do like Costco, as it’s close to work and I’ll shop there during my lunch break. Costco also has “better” unbranded gasoline compared to Sam’s Tell me why Sam’s is better. Hook’em!!!
  18. I’ll wear one of the Muhammad jerseys, if we make the playoffs next year! Tailored too, as their number/size wouldn’t fit my fat ass! Hook’em!!
  19. Damn Dennis T, I didn’t see you as a “scoundrel” in your youth. Bunch of gangsters traveling around. Hook’em!!!
  20. I think the DeBoer hire by Bama was a solid pick. He’s won at every level and quickly, so he has “something” going for him. Not the splashy name, but it’s like if I had to fill the Texas vacancy tomorrow, I’d go with the likes of the KSU and KU coaches first. Yes we’re talking about Kansas! Hook’em!!!
  21. When out of state recruits visit aggy and B/CS, I’m sure they’re all like “this is it for 2-3 years?” That’s just the surrounding environment and nothing to do with the aggy team, facilities, and campus. Just don’t make the recruits make it go to mandatory Fish Camp. Unless there is big bags of $$$, why would anyone from out of state even think about going there? Hook’em!!!
  22. And The Elk is loading up with “experienced” players from the G5 to build their roster. But, but it’s guys that want to be aggy! No shit! Apparently they weren’t P5 worthy the previous times teams looked at them, but now they are and ready to just step right into the aggy-fold and compete to the highest level (SEC). Love how their hive-mind also is stating that Texas’ “cupcake” schedule for ‘24, while they basically omit that we have to play them in B/CS! Yes, aggy, playing YOU lowers our SOS for ‘24. Hook’em!!!
  23. I think it has already been stated, but if that kid ends up going to a D1 school, his jersey will sell, regardless of the chosen team. $$$ talks! Hook’em!!!
  24. Great “goggaly muggaly!” Snickers commercial for the Chefs. Hook’em!!!
  25. That would be the ultimate aggy move - going to the B10. I really don’t think they’d have them in 3-5 years, but who knows. I think their (aggy) move would be to go back to the B12 and try to be the big fish in a small pond. Only aggy would try to leave in order to escape playing big brother and uncle (OU) on an annual basis. Hook’em!!!
