  1. Hard to take those rankings seriously.
  2. I was listening to some old albums on youtube from the dj mixed cd era, which was ultimately a forgettable era in dance music. Anyway, here is Raincry (Submerged) by God Within, which was about as successful as a track could be back in the early nineties. The producer was able to get consistent bookings as a DJ and died young in 2013. Its catchiest part is a vocal sample from the soundtrack to the movie The Power Of One, a South African choir arranged by Hans Zimmer. There are a couple other small samples too.
  3. If I am counting correctly, this means ESPN has laid off one half of the rap duo Max & Sam, who are well remembered for the Young Man Rumble single.
  4. any updates on how all the stupid gimmick accounts and hot take artists are coping with this saturday?
  5. The new manager grew up in Australia, and the big cities in Australia are like distant extensions of what North London and other working class areas of England used to be. Its in the speech patterns of the Australian slang and accent. But the manager grew up in an enclave where football was a huge part of the identity for all the people in his community.
  6. Guy who trends on twitter every couple of months was at the UN today with a bunch of other guys who only seem to get any traction on twitter and literally no other social networking app
  7. This morning on twitter features ridiculous messages from Lance Armstrong, the network of pro Russian accounts logging back on to insist they got everything right, and some nobody with a blue check posting a long cat about nuclear war and suspending the constitution gets 6.5M views in a day.
  8. The UEFA Nations League anthem song they keep playing on FOX broadcast is truly atrocious.
  9. Okay todays twitter nonsense is a bunch of guys just saying "DEBATE ME, BRO!" at each other.
  10. If the metrics are to be believed, a huge portion of the earth's population has viewed or replied to this tweet in the past month.
  11. "It beats slumming in the Big 10 West"
  12. I actually saw a guy in a TESLA t-shirt this past week. He was a younger guy in his twenties or thirties. I don't know what his rationale or motivation was for wearing out TESLA gear. Like, does he like the 90's retro sci-fi type of font, or does he like electric cars or Elon Musk personally, like a fan from before twitter saturation? Maybe he is all in with the politics of free speech the way it gets promoted by Elon and his favorite accounts? I just don't know. I had previously seen dudes in Kanye 2020 gear or even saw a guy in a whole outfit dedicated to the GAB Social Network.
  13. First you get the oil money, then you build the facilities, then you hire the right coaching staff, then the good players will come in.
  14. The announcers just stuck a go-pro camera in their booth for the pre game shot and its too close to one guy's forehead and he is hunched over and looks terrible.
  15. Broadcast today at 2:00 central on your local CBS affiliate.
  16. Europe Conference League final on the Golazo network now. Stadium in Prague looks packed.
  17. I was checking in on my source for the most engaged accounts on twitter. The last two or three weeks have been very good for Kim Dotcom. Very much engagement and exposure for the guy, up there in the top ten most engaged. Literally no first hand reporting or information, or even adding anything of value. Just a long stream of pro-Russian and other cheap stuff that makes the website owner and his followers happy. I have to admire how long the guy has been around though.
  18. I don't see how any discussion of this guys stays non political. Like the guy plans on much more political activism and attention very soon.
  19. The commentators on Peacock mentioned several times that it would be "interesting" to see how many of the starting 11 will be with the Saints after the summer. They said it at least twice before I started doing stuff around the house and couldn't hear the commentary anymore.
  20. Not sure if mentioned already. The guy who runs the (at) Michigan Podcast twitter handle is a long time talk radio guy with over 20 years of talk radio and social media activism. He is in the corner of the tweet embedded above in his political twitter account, standing next to RFK JR in the terrible shirt.
  21. These guys sound so awkward, so much of their sentence structure and verbal cadences sounds, speech patterns, reliance on buzzwords. When you take a person who is successful on twitter and record his voice it sounds less than ordinary, and this guy probably made multiple takes to get this video put together. The way he delivers the generalizations, and rattles off one ridiculous claim after another. Who the hell would elevate a guy like this or care what this guy thinks about anything?
  22. Mbuemo and Wissa played like they had a lot at stake, like a loss would be financially devastating for them and for Brentford. Tottenham probably took the first half options and reached their goal of being the first team to score and having the lead at the half.
  23. Pep outcoached the other guy today. Real Madrid struggled massively to gain possession or create any chances for the entire time that the game was in the balance. There was defensive cover shutting down the wingers and center forward for Madrid. The tackles and pressure up the field (and some fouls up there too) took possession away and slowed the counterattack. There was no answer from any of the goals until very late in the game.
  24. I am preferring the Golazo TV tactico cam view.
