  1. True, but my impression of Leach's offense was to make it simple for the quarterback with limited reads and progressons, so you didn't have to have the quick decision skills needed for a more complex scheme.
  2. Aggy had to claw it's way into the SEC so the entire world could see what a bunch of idiots they are. I hope they never become self aware, and continue doing this odd shit forever.
  3. Kid would light it up in a Leach style offense.
  4. If Wright is competent, does not make stupid hero decisions, and does not hold the ball too long, we will be fine. On the other hand, the kid may just be a gamer. This is his opportunity to show he should be QB2. So ball out, son. This is your big shot.
  5. I was sober and I know I saw us run the wildcat with Roschon 1 or 2x, maybe.
  6. This is what aggy aspires to be. If only Jimbo wasn't a fraud (sigh).
  7. CTJ, please nail this to the door of the closest church. Denomination is irrelevant. Let a new age begin!
  8. I think Ewers is going to be very successfull at Texas. To address the hand wringing, in the immediate future, we will be stacked with quarterback talent and that's how you become elite at the position. Also, after seeing just a glimpse of Sark's offense working as it should, I understand why elite QBs would want to play here.
  9. I saw no evidence of pant shitting from Ewers. When he was flushed, he stayed calm, kept his eyes downfield, and threw strikes. The long passes were likely nerves, but he didn't let them get him down. Needs to chill a little and get the ball out faster on deep routes. Carry on.
  10. Bylor didn't get the memo about The University aggressively defending the copyright. Even in that sickly shade of yellow, the shape is distinctively ours. Sue those non-dancing ass clowns! And the hate is just delicious. Let the whole world know that you know who we are, although we give no fucks who you are, yet we dwell in your head.
  11. Bregman screwed. This guy really sucks as an umpire. Maybe he should do something else.
  12. LHN has put up some interesting choices for past games this week. They showed the BYU game where the wheels came off the Garrett Gilbert wagon, and Derp and David Ash (nondrunk) had to pull it out. Then, they showed the Rice game (I know, Rice) where Casey Thompson demonstrated his clear superioity over Hudson Card, at least when it comes to throwing to the correct team, and scoring TDs. What are they getting at? Hmmm. Also, in spite of all the bitchness associated with the departure to NU, his okie dad, and the suggestion that he may be a bit of a prima donna, good thumb Thompson was a gamer. I think Sark had to shorten his field a little to accomodate his arm, but he didn't crap his pants, and that was a vast inprovement. Having seen those games, I realize how much of a step we will take if Ewers is half as good as the hype.
  13. Josh Heupel wants him eligible, and Lincoln Riley is a passive-aggressive asshole. Let's let the coaches fight to the death over it!
  14. Haven't heard any date rape allegations, or breakingr a woman's face, hasn't called the police when he was carrying a dealer sized quanaity of weed, and he didn't run into a house with a car. Really, what he did was rebel against authority (a prticular brand that is hated campus wide) and didn't immediately go sillent before issuing the always sincere apology where he hopes the little children who look up to football players can forgive him. He does need to stfu if only so as not to start a jihad by UTPD against the football team, and offer that "sincere" apology, and let's mnove on.
  15. If the Ewers risk is him learning to respect D1 corners and safties, that's just growing pain. Sam learned. It took some painfully stupid interceptions but he learned. The risk with Card seems to be more of a characteristic than a lack of experience. I don't know if a QB can learn not to panic. Maybe? If Ewers turns out to have equally fatal charateristics, as opposed to just being green, then we will get to see how close Malik is to bing ready, and it will be an "interesting" season. You never know, Malik may be one of those guys who takes over and never looks back. I need a drink.
  16. In my very limited experience, the defense always kicks ass immediately after pads go on. Their jobs are generally less complicated and involve less timing and whole unit execution. I would appreciate someone with experience beyond high school football confirming whether or not this is the same at higher levels of football. As for the QB competition, rmember that Sark replaced his preseason favorite with Casey Thompson, who as we have since heard, was not the "buy in guy" Sark likes at QB. Added to that is the fact that Sark had to dumb down his offense to accomodate for Thompson's lesser arm talent. He preferred that option to continuing to watch Card shit his pants in games. I would start Ewers game 1 with the stated intention of giving Card the second half save for the first possession. That would be my approach, but I don't know shit and my job isn't riding on it.
  17. His dad played at Texas, you know, making him a legacy, and he didn't even get an offer from Texas. I hate that this whole thing won't be completely rehashed again this season. Such a swell story.
  18. So the current RB room includes Bijan Robinson, Roschon Johnson, Keilan Robinson (all Jr.s), Brooks (soph.), Blue (fr.) and will add Baxter and Wisner in 2023. We're loaded, but the spacing and different, complimentary, styles will hopefully keep everyone in the fold. That is a tremendous amount of proven talent, and a tremendous amount of potential coming up.
  19. Cedric's going to have a hell of an OL up front. His timeing is good. Hook Em Cedric!
  20. QBs who may be ready to take a snap in D1 drop off pretty quick after Card. I don'r really want him to start, but I feel a little better with him around for one more season. If he has made major progress in the area of not shitting himself, then I want to find out in garbage time and good for him. I don't want Malik Murphy to get tossed in because of something I will not say out loud. If the season started today who would be QB3? I don't know but I know I don't want him to be QB2.
  21. I suspect a plate of pork chops is enough to make Card shit his pants. Please, no pant shitting quarterbacks.
