Got back from Red River on Sunday. As a single, I waited in a lift line for maybe 40 seconds tops as my longest wait. Conditions were MUCH better than I anticipated. The temp swings from low to high were wild, but I had no issues with gear.
I do not think the wife will ever want go back to Red River. She had planned to work from the restaurant at the Chalet base, but due to only one power outlet and no alcohol, she bailed. I thought the town had a really cool German vibe, but I really like small towns.
Red River one week from today: 12/27-12/31. Maybe a few inches to soften it up/hide the rocks on 12/23-24, but pickens are slim.
17/64 trails open and 5 of 7 lifts open, so it could be worse. I am so thankful for the 12" last week (twss).

I'm looking for/hoping for some BIG totals in northern New Mexico. TONS of moisture with this system. Just need things to properly align to get 12"+, but I will take 6". TWSS
I want that sort of pic to be more common, but the outlook is very bleak. The flip in the pattern continues to be 10 days away every time I look at the extended forecast. Post-Christmas weather forecast is getting closer and closer to reality, and all we are really looking at for Red River NM is manmade snow.
Amazingly dry December. Thanks El Nino.
Taos got 11", and just 30 miles north Red River got 0". I know there's a pretty big elevation difference, and 30 miles isn't super close.
At least some places are getting something.

This helps a TON. And with a few days of good snowmaking conditions in the future, things are looking up. High pressure builds in over the next several days with warmer temps, and then hopefully back to a stormier pattern. Fangerz crossed.
