  1. This biased poll crap is so aggy. Yes, ESPN contacted all of the coaches and writers to implore them to over rank Texas for ......... Um, ratings or something?
  2. Kind of weird. My wife attended TN when Peyton was QB; my son begins his college career at Texas in 2 weeks w/ Arch as the QB. I think TN not having a viable QB is kind of funny considering almost every one of them called the Nico/Aguilar trade a win. @texifornia hit the nail on the head. Most of the SEC grads are actually pretty cool. In not having a plethora of professional sports in the SE, a lot of folks tied themselves to the state college team. Those are the fuckwads.
  3. I lol every time at this one. Perfect casting for a cat lady.
  4. From what I recall in having attended Vol tailgates and games for 10+ years... Georgia fans were the worst. South Carolina fans were, by far, the best. Vol fans are pretty cool UNLESS you mention Texas. They are somehow absolutely obsessed with the "real UT" thing. Which is weird, because I never, not once, thought about them until I moved to Knoxville. Kentucky football fans - kind of cool. KY basketball fans, not so much. Florida fans were pretty cool if only for the fact that they drove my Vol friends crazy. I was up there when the Gators beat TN just about every year. I don't recall much about the MIssissippi teams. I'll give them a pass due to Kiffin and Leach. I'm not sure I ever met a Vandy fan. That's Nate Bargatze's school/team, so they're cool in my book. Arky fans were terrible. You know it's bad when Vol fans are making fun of the "hillbillies". Almost forgot. Aggy did play there before they joined the SEC. It was funny because I warned my Vol friends about them, and they didn't disappoint. Effing idiots walking up and down The Strip, wearing those stupid ass overalls, yelling and whooping. My friends were all, "Ok, we'll root for the Longhorns after this."
  5. He's probably met my SIL. Adult Disney fanatic. Has been on at least 15 vacations since moving nearby in 2017. Every, single one to a Disney park somewhere in the World. She's neither married nor does she have any kids. To borrow a Gaffigan line, "Even the Comicon people are a little frightened by her."
  6. Lulz. Vol coaching staff blurring out the QBs in videos where they throw INTs. https://www.on3.com/college/tennessee-volunteers/news/tennessee-football-posts-practice-highlight-but-blurs-out-qb-who-threw-int/
  7. .125 How was n the holy hell does this guy even get put on a major league roster? And it's the effing DH. There's nobody in the minors that can just come up and hit, say, .200? I don't get it
  8. Right there with you. I was in Dallas in '94. I think I watched the US/Colombia game at a sports bar; otherwise, I completely ignored the entire thing. Five years later, I'm traveling all over the East Coast to watch US Soccer games.
  9. Hell yeah. Just kidding. I probably shouldn't have used a sexist angle. It's just the stupid hot takes, from random pundits, these days. Like that idiot Doering. Ok, yes, Arch is probably overhyped, but to claim that some scrub transfer from Wash St. is going to win the Heisman is just stupid. Even if he's actually good, the offensive personnel around him isn't. It's a take that nobody will remember when OU goes 5-7 and Mateer gets sacked 7 times a game. Some of these folks are no better or informed than the average texags poster. /early Friday drinking takes
  10. My God. I'm all for equality and all, but can we nip (pun intended) a few of the women off ESPN? Someone by the name of Candy Maldonado (may have gotten the first name wrong) has an article about teams making or not making the playoffs. Of course, Texas is the team that she'd bet on to not make the playoffs. Fine. Cool. I have a couple of worries as well. Namely that Texas could lose at OSU and at GA, and only have room for one more loss to make the playoffs. But, she states that the Texas v aggy game is a coin flip. Fuck's sake.
  11. Seems like a definite repeat, doesn't it?
  12. I think it was one of Burton's bullet points on a previous page.
  13. I enjoyed it in a similar vein to the Taylor Sheridan series'. I gotta say. That's the worst final 5 minutes of a season finale that I've ever seen. "Oops. Sorry I stabbed you in the lung." Monty Python Prison Song
  14. That Doering idiot is still going on about Mateer. Good Lord.
  15. Yep. I became a vegetarian for a day after seeing the rabbit farm scene. But...Whataburger.
  16. Yes! Dark Crystal got me as well. Going back to Wizards, I was all, "Animated characters can be brutally killed? Is that even legal?"
  17. Yep. Again, she may be annoying and some words may need to be said; however, telling her to shut up is a tad much.
  18. I know stress of the situation and all, but I'll never understand why some can't control their behaviors/mouths knowing full well they're being filmed. Kel may be annoying as F, but as a man, you cannot speak to a woman the way Joe does. And yippee. The biggest puss on the show has a Texas tattoo the size of a nerf ball on his leg.
  19. Since we're doing this. Before my time, but as a 5 year-old my mom was kind enough to share the death scene from Darby O'Gille and the Little People. By the age of 8, I snuck downstairs just in time to see the babysitter put on an animated movie. Wizards. First PG13 movie. Dreamscape.
  20. 100% true. That was always perplexing to me when I lived in Knoxville. That is, Vol fans claiming that every other fanbase was/were hillbillies. Hell, their own fight song is about living in the hills and making moonshine.
  21. Opus. It's an A24 movie on HBOMax. Very Midsommer-ish. John Malkovich is in it. 8 out of 10.
  22. Agree. I was disappointed that this year's Tour didn't have a gravel stage (like last year), but this made up for it. I didn't know if the change until watching it today, so it was a pleasant surprise. The final stage - other than the pomp and circumstance - is usually pretty boring to me. I like mountains.
  23. I thought about starting a thread to ask how common this is. The last two funerals I've attended have been sports themed. My cousin's aggy funeral in 2016, which I've written about on here. *Story spoilered below for those that have seen it. Very awkward. Last week's funeral was a friend of mine from Knoxville. I lived there for 20 years before returning to Texas in 2017. Anyway, both funerals requested attendees to honor the sports teams associated with the deceased.
